  1. There are some very useful guides on youtube if they help

Thank you. I'll have a look. Could you point me to one with goes into a lot of detail (I'm adept at using it, I just want to see if I am missing anything interesting).

  2. I bet this has been discussed before but I can't find it using search.

My throttle pedal has a "stop" just before it is fully to the floor. Just like a kick down on an automatic, but mine is a manual.

Is this usual. Is there any purpose for it?

  3. Hi all,

The last three nights the alarm in my 2004 350Z coupe has randomly gone off. 4am the first night, 11:30 the second and 1am the third. There was no one around, it just went off.

Does anyone have any thoughts about what may be causing this?

Does anyone know what type of sensors are used and where they are?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Andrew

  4. I experienced something odd whith the clutch a few days ago. I was pulling away at a roundabout, and I was a bit quick off the mark. I had given it plenty of revs, and as I pulled away the traction control activated and the clutch pedal moved down a couple of inches. It seemed to be holding the clutch at the bite point for a few seconds, but then it went back to normal. Is this some sort of protection mechanism, or is there something wrong with the clutch?

  5. First gear in the snow? No wonder you weren't making progress!:lol::lol::lol:

My Zeds been known to spin the wheels in 3rd gear this month :headhurt:

Well I've known the zed to spin the wheels in 3rd on a wet road, let alone snow and ice - so yes.

  6. The Zed in the snow is quite good fun. I quite enjoy my trips out in the snow. If you had to choose a car for the snow, a Zed would not be it - my wife's A class Merc is much much better. But for the shear sport of trying to make progress aginst the odds, you have to love the Zed.

Gentle inclines can be a bit of a problem, it depends on the nature of the snow/ice surface. There are times when nothing works - lost momentum, and had to give up - but this is rare.

As someone said, the back wheels want to move from higher to lower ground - including the camber on most roads. I have regularly found myself moving along the road at a bit of an angle, with the back wheels near the curb and the front wheels near the centre of the road. But once you get used to the strange position, its actually fine. When I get to a more grippy surface, I can get it straight again.

I carry a spade and a bag of grit in the car - not only for digging myself out, which I have had to do several times, but it also adds a bit of weight over the back wheels.

  7. I saw a Blade coupe on the A346 (Marlborough road) heading north at about 11:30 on Saturday. I was heading south in my wife's car, so I didn't bother flashing.

Also saw a blue coupe on M25 in the roadworks (J17/18ish) at about 11:45 today. You were going west (in the outside lane contraflow) I was going east.
