A good point made in reference to me today regarding this topic which probably hasnt helped 2nd values is that they are punting Nismos out at £30k odd and seem to remember another fella looking at buying a new 370z at £23k with discounts and dealer contributions and suitably low apr, hopefully that might give you some more insight op.

I purchased a 18 plate 370z for less than your mentioned 23k direct from Nissan - I suspect im not helping the residuals - I was pushed hard towards the GT and the Nismo but stood my ground - got a base spec red one with black accents - 21.5k

Would be 09 yeah. Shame, I figured they'd be around £15K by now.

cracking cars, the good ones are a bit more than 15k though :(

    Im voting 370z :)

  3. FWIW I had a similar dilemma(?) recently, I was looking to sell the Fiesta ST (Great car) for something a little less practical and quicker... my list

A45 AMG (Yellow night edition thing)

    TTRS

    M3/4

All very capable cars and the interiors are incredible, the Audi interior on the newer models is great - the merc similar really... however and its a big one, for me they were just too soft, they dont really offer any driver involvement - the TTRS I had waited to drive for over a year and was dead excited, sounds/looks great but its a let down from a driver perspective (for me anyway), massively fast but feels over servo'd and 'safe'... probably supposed to, i knew I would get bored.

So I changed the options up and looked at the new cayman GTS (previously owned GT4 and a GTS) and a 370z (given Nissan want to give me 5k off one)

Porsche was a great car but not (imo) worth the 40k more than the Z they wanted.

Tbh I think most people would be happy with any of them, all cracking cars but it does fall down to personal taste :) good luck

In the diary at the moment are Cadwell Park - Tues 29th May and Spa - Tues 17th July, will look at doing another couple from Aug and I've got my eye on Silverstone GP - Mon 5th Nov

Do you take the car out at any normal track days?

Also, any chance next time the cars up in the air with the wheels off you could share some pics of how you've run your brake cooling ducting? It's a must do on my list!

we have done - sort of depends on who is running it to be honest :)

I will try and get you a photo, i have one somewhere but struggling to find it, we have used the robot arm stuff in the inlets on the nismo v2 bumper and then on to the back of the discs at an angle. It would be better with a scoop that goes into the veins of the disc but would require some more fab work

They must be the Pro5000+ calipers if they're from that then! I'm sure you get through discs regularly, from what I've heard I think the DS3000's were suppose to be quite an aggressive pad too

Thanks, yeah collecting bits this year to soften the blow, its coming along and I think after this next round it's project finished!!

Think you did with all the notifications I've just had!

Glad you like it, makes sharing the build on the forum worth it

    Any track days planned? :0)

Cheers!! Glad you're happy with the AP's as I know you're giving them a good work out!! Can't wait to get on track with mine soon!

Out of interest what pads do you run in yours?

Also.......can't see from the pics, is your kit the shelf 350z kit with 7040 calipers and 362mm CG12 discs that AP offer? I did quite a bit of homework when choosing and making my kit and using the CP5555 calipers with the 343mm PFC disc will save you over 2kgs a side of unsprung weight over the shelf kit. Given that you're racing thought that might be of interest to you........I hope this doesn't read as being rude or cheeky cos it's not meant like that, just some good info

Good to hear! I'm hopeful it does make a good difference.

I ordered direct from Mtech Ind and they arrived within a week and cost about £70 inc Vat and duty so could be a good value mod. If install is fairly easy on the BRZ too then go for it!

Ferodo pads, we did run the DS3000's but now on their newer ones, cant remember what they are called. I dont know the model number of the calipers they came off a GT4 RJN race car, the discs have subsequently been replaced by Abbey Motorsport a couple of times.

Car sounds like its coming on well bud :D

  7. Hi WinkJ,

Lotus was the best compromised car i have had, things i loved were how quick and how stable it was, how much road presence it had. I did some track driving in it as well as fast road and wales and it nailed everything. I also purchased from Lotus Silverstone (ask for Aimee)... Even with the systems turned off it was still so intuitive - steering feedback and working aero on track... crazy :)

I only have one poor video of it

Things i didnt like, literally the only thing i didnt like was the space between driver and passenger, its the only thing that would make me look at an evora. As you can see your elbow is close and i have quite wide shoulders.. even saying that if i hadnt needed the money out of the car to build another Z i would still have it :)

    Go and test drive one
