Don' trust the tyre places, out of the thousands of types of cars they won't know the correct pressure. Open your drivers door and there is a sticker on the inner arch that tells you the correct tyre pressure, as phil said 35psi Thanks, I knew the sticker was there but still wanted to question it to be sure

What is the correct PSI? The manual says 35 all round but twice now (once when having a laser balance and now when having all new tyres fitted) two different places have set them to 30.
  3. Silver roadster with that smashing plate spotted in Sainsbury in Banbury, very cool!
  4. I started testing what kind of MPG I could get on my B road commute, I usually gte around 21 over the course of a week but this morning got 32. But it's awful - I hate driving that slowly, feels all kinds of wrong.
  5. Hi, I'm not due a service for 2000 miles yet and don't know what is in the car but I think it needs topping up, am I safe to use any brand of 10w40? If not what would people recommend? It's a 54 plate. Thanks!
  6. Crikey, that was a bit of luck! Went to take a picture and the valeter was here doing some pool cars, he used a cutter and it was gone in a minute.
  7. Scraped my offside wheel arch against the bumper of a land rover so have a black streak of a couple of inches Thinking of taking it to Halfords who offer a budget body shop - anyone know if they should be trustworthy?
  8. wow. that was not exactly the classiest show. so glad we didn't camp... EDC was fun though.

    tyre pressures

What does the bit at the end mean when it says 'Do not exceed 50mph (80kmh)'? Under what conditions? I was about to post a similar thread to this as I had a laser alignment done last week and noticed when I went to check my tyres later that without telling me he'd changed all the pressures down to 30...
  10. Including the forthcoming GRID, which features a car you may recognise...
  11. I'll be there (we're camping... ) But we might be in the 200SX.
  12. There's a blue Fairlady in the car park, saw a guy in a grey suit get out... sorry for not saying hello
  13. Well the weird thing is they LOOK like they were made for each other - if you just hold the plates together, they are precisely the same size and shape. But like I said, the screw holes are in totally different positions.
  14. But the screw hole placements on the vent clip don't match those on the holder...
  15. Try this link for fitting instructions: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/carcomm.php Thanks but sadly not. Look at the image above. The vent clip is on the left, and on the right is the swivel attachment for the PDA holder itself. There is no way that I can see that they can be attached to each other. The screws on the vent mount are if you need to swap the vent fittings for the others that come in the box (hence 'universal') and the only other way I can see to afix anything to it might be to do with those two little extra plastic clips shown in the pic. Honestly baffled.
  16. Thanks all, if Carcomm cannot tell me how to fit their own damn products together then I'll look out one of these.
  17. I bought a Carcomm cradle and same brand vent mount but cannot see how the hell the two fit together, extremely annoying. anyone got any ideas please let me know Here are the bits
  18. I meant a specific year.. Never mind.
  19. Interesting, any more details? Thanks!
  20. Think there is a £150ish import limit now so its worth while on the small stuff. But then buying in the UK will make it easier if there is a problem.... Not that there should be with a cargo net!!! I import a lot of games and movies and sadly that is not true - got stung for £15 on a £30 order from Amazon lately.
  21. thanks mate!
  22. ooh, thank you. I was leaning towards the tonnau, pricey though it is, but may try the net in the first instance if you have someone reliable for delivery?
  23. Thanks all, can you recommend any places to buy such nets and covers? (or there's always Holdcroft..)
  24. Is there any way to secure this in place? I can't see one, don't know if it's been damaged and replaced at some point but very annoying to find anything I put in there slides around like mental cos the carpet isn't attached. Or just another quirk of the car?
  25. I just bought a Carcomm kit for my Blackberry 8800 which can either be suctioned or screwed into the dash. I'd rather do neither - anyone know of a good universal clip to which I could attach it to say the air vents?
