Looks spot on - plus it keeps a good resale value if you want to sell
Chris
Yeah, that swung it. We are buying a house and I figured keeping it as an asset you either do it or you don't.

Um... a lot, I mean personally, but not compared to a body shop!

Sorry, saw the title and thought you were being a bit open about clocking your car
@*!# yeah, they may not thank me if they get a 'visit' about this interesting new side line ..

LOL pic added now (had to link to it externally, the upload attachment doesn't seem to do anything...)

Had my car over 3 years, it started peeling paint off the bumper mid way point and I had kerbed the alloys but with low mileage and it driving as well as ever I figured I am not in any rush to buy anything else so why not make it look nice?
I've used CS ever since the initial recommendation on the forum for servicing, since when have had them investigate road noise (banana bar), upgrade my brakes, and finally took the plunge and handed it over to roll back the clock on the bodywork.
Three weeks later, picked it up Saturday night. WOW. Stunning. Andy's a perfectionist, even the presentation (wouldn't have been surprised to see dry ice when he opened the garage door just to complete the effect). Took the bumper off, blended the wings, the alloys look brand new, painted the discs to make them match, polished all over including the exhaust.
Really pleased went ahead with it, can't recommend these guys enough

yeah, leaving it on the road though so just be a bit mental paying too much and someone just lifting it
against the law to leave a car on the road with a cover over it reflectors must show by law!
Daym...Get some reflective strips and sew them onto the cover
Good thinking

Haha! I thought so! How's your head?

I have Falken 452s front and rear and going on a mini track day (hi speed corners, cones etc) this Sunday, circuit advises inflating to maximum to protect the walls, I usually have them at 35 all around, what should I increase them to?
Is this a track day or a CarLimits Airfield Day?
If its an airfield day I would recommend that you inflate the tyres as they explain. This is partly to protect your sidewall and rim of the tyre in high speed corners, and partly IMO to reduce grip so that you slide easier and break away is smoother. I always pumped mine up to a few PSI shy of the max stated on the side of the tyre and had no problems, full speed 70MPH slides with no adverse effects. A friend didnt heed this advice and after his first spin on the high speed bend we could see score marks on the tyres only a few mm from the rim Needless to say after that he pumped them up sharpish!
Yes, that's the one. Hence the question really - what IS the maximum pressure for those tyres?

Have a look on http://www.caraudiosecurity.com
I've pinged them a thread asking for a recommendation that includes fitting. I basically want iPod, Bluetooth, compatibility with the wheel controls and, if poss, DAB.

Thanks for the offers everyone, CS has actually decided it's worth me taking the car down before we determine what parts are necessary so it'll be a couple of weeks before I can manage that

Hi, this has gone on the fritz (fortunately it was ALMOST shut at the time...), can anyone advise if has one in a position to sell?
-
I spun mine and was very lucky to avoid damaging it.
I kart a lot and I am well used to wet/ice driving, even on slick tyres, annoyed that even breathing on the brake at no more than 10mph still put it sideways and my only reaction was more braking which I know damn well if I was in a kart never leads to anything good.
I'd have corrected the steering but I haven't trained my brain to do so. I want somewhere to learn what the car can do so I can react accordingly.
A track day would be a waste, but I equally have no suitable open spaces off a main road. Can anyone recommend a place, ideally in the Midlands? We went to a drift day once at Silverstone car park but it was organised.

CS really are something else, took my car for three weeks and found everything that was wrong with it, I could never have afforded what a regular garage would have charged for labour on that basis.
An amazing find, many thanks to the forum

Can anyone score cheap tickets for Friday?

I don't know what to do!
There aren't many double din head units around the £200 mark, and none of them have a CD changer.
I'm starting to think I may just get my Bose unit repaired and the tape deck hack so I can have 6 disc changer, and MP3 input. Plus I can keep the standard hands-free mic rather than an extra one hanging around somewhere.
By the time I've bought the new HU (Clarion, or otherwise) all the adapters required for steering wheel control, surround etc it's going to be best part of £300 and I can get the original repaired for half that and still have all the features I want.
Not a massive fan of the Bose but it sounds okay to my ears and I do like to keep my cars as standard looking as possible.
Damn it!
What's this 'hack' you refer to for MP3 .. ?

CS sounds promising, anyone have contact details?

k, I gave them a call, waiting on Mark calling me back. fingers crossed.

Ok, am £80 poorer and no further on. If I was in any position to drive to Alex who has been incredibly helpful I would, but my local garage unfortunately doesn't seem very interested in following the advice given.
I tried calling Antelope Nissan in Banbury who couldn't have been less helpful, telling me they'd charge to even diagnose the problem.
In short then, can anyone advise a reputable garage in the Midlands (I'm near Daventry) to whom I could pass the info I have and act on it in a helpful way?

I have tried and failed to find how to get on a normal track day. I am absolutely sure I saw one taking place when my wife was on a driving experience (all very normal looking cars) but I've not been able to make any headway finding how to book. Can anyone help? I don't want to make a dork of myself at JTS so it needs to be a normal day.
Rolling back the clock (thanks CS!)
