my 20s are heavier than the standard rays but the handling is superb. probably more to do with a decent set of matched tyres and the eibach springs, but i cant fault it. ride doesn't feel any different. its the same overall diameter as the original wheels/tyres so the only difference should be sidewall flex and the width of them.

 

But the point is lighter wheels will improve handling, less weight means less stress on the suspension, less gyro effect so quicker turn in etc.

 

When I fitted 19's to my Zed they were heavier and the ride and handling was noticeably worse when the car was pushed. Normal driving was fine. I had to compensate by upgrading springs and dampers, so the overall gain was purely cosmetic.

maybe so, but on the road...hardly going to be that noticeable.

I should do considering it'll be the same springs! Just hope the wheels sit just as nicel in the arches!

looks best in the first 2 pics, the rest the sun is shining in the arches making it look higher! the eibach springs are great, ride is pretty much the same

my wheels/tyres are pretty much the exact same overall diameters as the original 18s so if you stick to that you should end up the same

waxed my baby on saturday so took a spin on the sunday. also got a wee video of the exhaust too

looks superb bud. sounds similar to mine actually. bumper tuck will be nice, the exhaust goes with the style of your car

bumper tuck is just a case of unbolting the middle part and screwing it up out the way as far as i know.

i'll have the popcharger if its in good nick bud.

following on from ian, i got my exhaust done today

i loved the look of the 5zigen, but, being tight and scottish, and having probably the best exhaust fabricator in scotland 15mins away, i sourced some nice flame burnt exhaust cans and dropped the car off this morning for a Y pipe back system with middle box and the rear cans mounted, the work is superb, 2.5" system, and it sounds AMAZING!!!! shame my phone didnt pick up the sound right

yeah, alot of them can be different. that one seemed pretty spot on. but atmospheric pressures and temperatures play a big part as well as the calibration of the rolling road.

he bought the engine for about 1k, which is the going rate, but it musta had some tweeks done to up it nearly 65bhp.

its a c20let, 2.0 turbo, he just likes to kid on its still a 1.2.

its makes me wanna sell the zed, live on bread and water for 5 years, get the bus, then buy a skyline cost him 15k, was a top secret customer car. its got every toy you can imagine. i love it.

yeah it torque steers like crazy!

one of my mates was taken out in the corsa, came back very impressed, then went out in the skyline and it made the corsa look like the 1.2 it originally was!

shouldn't have drove my car straight after the skyline, felt soooo slow lol.
