Looks fantastic Darren, good choice Im so pleased youre enjiying the car the way it should be enjoyed and youve made it your own. Great pics too mate

Very nice Dave!
Glad to see your cherishing the Evo just as much as you did with 'our' zed.
I'm finally getting the Volks with fresh rubber put on the zed on Friday and taking her through Wales this weekend. I'm taking my camera, so look out for posts soon of it.
If I manage to get down to Devon again I shall send you a PM - good opportunity to get some pics of the zed and the Evo together!
I've still got some other things planned for the zed (all very tasteful), but like everywhere else there is talks of redundancies where I work so I have to hang on for a couple of months before splashing the cash again.
Rest assured the zed is still fine sleeping in the garage right now.
Enjoy the Evo! (I know you will).
Hey Darren, thanks for the kind words mate The Evo really is an awesome piece of machinery, but nowhere near as good looking as the Zed Glad to hear youre enjoying and looking after 'our' car so well, cant wait to see the pics of new Volks fitted
A Zed/Evo photoshoot sounds like fun mate

Nice looking motor. Where abouts in Torbay, mate? I'm a Torquinian! (I think I just made that word up)
Haha like it Im in Brixham
-
Cheers all
Looking good. The interior looks very tidy. Is the mileage quite low? Will you taking it to the track?Milage is quite low i suppose, just turned 30k. I still have a trackday voucher for Castle Combe race track which i was hoping to take the Zed to, but never got the chance, so looks like the Evo will get a session or 5
-
Very nice
How does it compare to the Z?
Cheers
Totally different to the Zed, the Zed was beautifully balanced and almost relaxing to drive in comparison to the Evo. It goes like it looks....drives like a go-kart, awesome levels of grip, handling and pace, take whatever you throw at it and still gets you round the corner. Loads of room inside for practicality, but it isnt beautiful to look at like the Zed. Swings and roundabouts, but i can honestly say i was a RWD man for over 10years and didnt think id like 4WD, but im definately impressed

Well, i picked the car up a couple of weeks ago and ive finally got the car the way i want it for the moment, with my DVD Headunit fitted during the week along with my nav setup. Big thanks to Sean at AP Motors (Plymouth) yet again for a top notch job with the install I also fitted my Ralliart half leather interior last week so inside the car is that little bit classier
Im not 100% happy with the paint on the car after i polished it, so Steve at Pure Valeting will be getting the car in the very near future to do a full correction which will hopefully give the paint a bit more depth and clarity. The only other addition will be a c/f lip spoiler to make the front end a bit meaner
So, heres the Zeds replacement, my 05 Mitsubishi Evolution 8MR FQ320, hope you like

Great thread
I started in 1990 with my first car, a Triumph Acclaim 1300HL, i can feel the jealousy That lasted me 5 years after which i traded it in for a J plate Honda Civic Saloon....no pics of either as they were very dull.
I saw sense after a couple of years with the Honda and traded it in for this...
Was standard when i bought it and slowly modded it into the above. Owned it for 6 years and it was a fantastic car.
Sold the MR2 to buy my Skyline...
Spent a consider ammount of money on it taking it to 406bhp, was a fantastic car and owned it for almost 4years.
Sold the Skyline to buy the Zed....
Only had the pleasure of owning the Zed for around 18months and sold recently due to having a baby on the way and needing 4 doors and more than 2 seats and bought this last week to replace it...
Mitsubishi Evo 8MR FQ320, an awesome piece of kit which will hopefully stay with me for a few years and give me alot of fun...
And thats it so far

Picked it up tonight and wow, what a car !!! I honestly think im a converted man, the performance, handling and fun factor is just fantastic If only it was half as good looking as the Zed, but you cant have everything
Will try and get on it and give it a good polish up over the weekend and get some pics up

If I remember correctly you had that stunning blue 350 didn't you!? Changing to silver must be a shock!
Haha, yeah its not as pretty as the Blue for sure, although being Gun Metal im hoping it will still look clean even when its dirty....meaning i actually spend more time driving it than polishing it, unlike the Zed
-
Nice one Dave. See you over on the MLR.
Cheers Trev Now a fully paid up MLR member too
-
Congrats mate, hope you enjoy it
Just dont forget how to drive properly now you have 4WD nannying you everywhere
Haha Im not proud...i'll take all the help i can get thanks !! First 4wd car for me though, be an interesting change after the last 3 cars being RWD

As some may have read in another thread, ive finally found the right Evo to replace the Zed, 05 plate Mitsubishi Evo 8MR FQ320 Gunmetal, completely standard, managed to negotiate a fantastic price as i want to upgrade the interior to the full Ralliart half leather, which ive also sourced now
Should hopefully be picking it up this week. I'll get it all polished up before posting pics hopefully at the weekend, cant wait Nowhere near as pretty as the Zed, but by christ it shifts !!

Looks fantastic Darren
Glad to see youre enjoying the car mate, and very pleased to hear youre cleaning it obsesively !!
Look forward to see you making the car your own
Cheers
Dave

I think that looks really cool mate

Value for money practice amp, i reckon you'll struggle to beat one of the Line6 Spider range, this one should be ideal for you...
I recently started playing again after a 6year break having sold off my gigging rig and practice gear, so had to start again and was blown away by the quality of tones and value for money the little SpiderIII 15watt amp gave....so much so i sold it on after only 4weeks to upgrade to a Line6 Spider Jam amp ( http://line6.com/spiderjam/ ) which is awesome for more advanced bedroom practice.
As for cost, you can get the Line6 Spider III 15watt amp for under £80 delivered !!

Well, after only 16-17months of Zed ownership, the car is sold
Im genuinely gutted ive decided to be sensible, although not regretful, with a son on the way moving on soon hopefully to 4doors with a late Evo 8 MR FQ or 9 FQ in the very near future The one saving grace is that the new owner is a smashing bloke who by the sounds of it, is going to be as anal about polishing it and keeping it at its best as i was Hes already a member here on the forum and ive no doubt he'll be posting about his new toy when he gets time
Was a sad moment seeing it being driven away as it truely is a stonking car but look forward to seeing it moulded by the new owner on here over the coming months.
A huge thanks to all here for their friendship, technical advice and banter over my ownership, a genuinely top notch community of enthusiasts
I dont intend on being a stranger and will probably end up reading most days....hopefully see some of you at Jap shows in the future
Cheers
Dave

Blimey, thought i was watching an old episode of Automan for a second !!

Also going by the fact that there are no buttons on the steering wheel, its not a GT.
Its a Japanese import, has no Brembos but leather, so id imagine its probably a 'T' spec car
-
Doesnt look like an S-Tune to me, simply a tuned 'S' spec car?
The S-Tune has some very unique styling which makes it instantly recognisable...
... along with some suspension and engine tuning.
Copied from the 350z wiki....
"NISMO S-Tune GT (2005)
Modified Nissan Fairlady Z Nismo patrol car (Japan)The S-Tune GT was released by NISMO to celebrate its success in motorsport, particularly in the Super GT series. The S-Tune GT featured revised long nose bodywork as in the Type-E, a modified version of the VQ35DE engine called the S1 with more power (300 PS / 221 kW / 296 hp) and higher redline (7200 rpm), as well as a sportier NISMO suspension.
20 were produced each month in Japan. Although Nissan did not officially sell S-Tune in UK, Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd. imported 1 S-Tune GT to UK"
