  1. Cheers - hmmm yours is all mac based - I am going to use a PC laptop for mine - power consumption is much lower and therefore i will never have to boot/shut down etc (unless I dont start the car for about a month! lol) - I will set power save options within the OS to turn off 7"monitor etc etc if not in use for a few minutes. I will disable/or completely remove the laptops own monitor. If I remove it, the laptop will only be 1" thick!

  2. Hi guys - I am embarking on a similar project - a couple of questions:

1/ Cable run - from what I can see, 3 cables need to be run from front dash to rear glove box - audio (to HU) and VGA+USB to Lilliput - audio and usb are reasonable thin cables, but VGA is quite a thick beefy cable - how did you run these?

2/ Lilliput - does it actually fit inside the cubby hole (allowing cubby hole door to close)?

3/ How easy was it to integrate car diagnostics with centrafuge?

I am from down south as well (Maidstone, Kent) - did u guys ever meet up - if not do you want to?

  3. Hi - I came across this posting by chance - I am looking for a way to interface a laptop (which will have a touch screen in cubby hole) to my Bose Head Unit (which has no aux input). The solutions mentioned in the topic are all cradle based for mp3 players, which I dont need. All I need is a transmitter without a cradle, that I can plug into my laptop etc - can anyone recommend one??

(NB - Bose is JDM so fm frequencies are not the same as UK)

  4. CHAV - how dare you!!! Lol :boxing:

I was thinking os something less subtle - have been playing on Photoshop (yes, its Friday again and I'm bored lol) What do you think?

  5. Hi guys - I have decided that the Veilside V3 widebody kit is the one for me! Can anyone recommend a UK based distributer? I cant afford to get the whole kit in one go, so will do it in stages, starting with the rear wing spoiler (that looks soooooo cool) - anyone got a rough idea on the price of this? Anyone fitted one? I might even go the whole hog and get it sprayed like DK's in Tokyo Drift - excellent graphics!

    Thanks in advance...

(Andy - did you fit yours or was it already on there when you bought the car?)

  6. This all started over friendly banter with a colleague of mine on a bored Friday afternoon - its not about which car is best etc - its just going to be a fun track day with a wager - all I wanted to know was what my chances were performance wise - and I think after reading all the many posts the cars are relatively evenly match so it will be down to our individual driving skills!

  7. Have done a bit of research!

Clifford do a product called the Viper 460 XV which is a CAT1 immobilizer and alarm etc etc and there is a remote start addon that DOES bypass the clutch issues with JDM models. I found a company in Canvey Island called www.precisionalarms.co.uk and they fit the whole thing for about £470.00 (alarm on its own id £274.99 fitted) :)

  8. I know this is really gimicky - But with this weather I love the idea of being able to start my car from a keyfob (whilst still in house/office) so that the climate control kicks in and the interior is ice cold when i get into it - conversely having a really warm car with defrosted windows in the winter would be nice. Has anyone tried or heard of ways to do this? - I also have the added complication that I need to dip the clutch to start, so that would need to be bypassed.

Like I says its an ultra gimicky/poser idea, but practical!

  9. Exactly - and I am confident I am a better driver (I'm going to look a right pratt now if I lose!)

Track day at Brands £199 each - £500 wager - new set of tyres after - could be an expensive day - but what the hell :boxing:

  10. Just to let you know - I bought some Comma @£11.99 and it worked a treat. Apart from the initial disinfectant smell which lasted about a day, the damp smell has completely gone! - thanks for the great advise!
