  1. what you really really need is this ... self healing paint... yeah baby!!!!!

    B)http://www.newlaunches.com/archives/sel ... xtrail.php

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., has developed the world’s first clear paint that repairs scratches on painted car surfaces, including scratches from car-washing machines, off-road driving and fingernails. “Scratch Guard Coatâ€

  2. Why so much audio??... you should only need it for the TA announcements on the radio... after this just listen to the ROARRRRRR :yahoo:

 Sorry to sound ignorant, but what is the purpose of sound deadning materials?

-Reduce noise going outside of cabin?

-Reduce booming, reverberance in the cabin?

( does it really work in such a small enclosure? )

    -Make the car heavier?

As cheapie (and effective) solutions...For RR Road Noise

Take the trim plastic out (gentle persuasion, required, but not difficult), plug every hole you see open on the body metal, with TAPE. Some are an open noise path from the wheel arch and floor! ( yes really!)

Open the RR strut Brace Trim, fit some foam type material (old mattress anyone? ;) )

Test it and then decide if you need to buy expensive mats...etc.

Put too much and you might isolate that beautiful exhaust note...

Another recommendation I heard is to put some dampening material on the Subwoofer Face ( between inside face of the trim and subwoofer face. This reduces the booming effect, makes for a better bass feel and means you can hear it better at motorway speeds...

This is only some comments I heard, you audiophile gods will probably know more about this kind of stuff... I personally find the Bose SubWoofer makes me sick in certain songs with too much bass... re-arranging my internals... humm maybe I am just too old...

    Where's my Norah Jones CD...

    :D

  3. I am not an expert on 350z but I know for a fact that Nissan will consider the more severe driving conditions in Europe compared to JAPAN.

Because of German requirements for High Speed Driving, the cooling pack might be upgraded for euro-spec zeds.

(think how the skyline R34 GTR for Uk was a V-spec with extra oil coolers...)

if you have a Uk spec I would recommend you double check the rad capacity.

  4. I know... but the T/M and floor are not that bad actually...and with a bit of N tinkering they make them a little bit more reliable...

So Nissan get a tiny gearbox, a couple of diesel engines from Renault... what does Nissan Give Renault? A state of the art V6 and know-how of how to make their cars more reliable...

me thinks someone is laughing his head off... in FRENCH! :D

    never mind...

  5. nissan sunderland only made:

    bluebird,

  6. As I was trying to find out the best fuel consumption I could get on my brand new baby... someone was obviously trying to find out what was the lowest fuel consumption they could achieve... ;)

On the M4 just before the bristol exit, I think it was a blue 53 reg coupe ... but it was dark and as I said he/she wasn't hanging around...

Once the honeymoon period is over I'll have to find out the other end of the fuel consumption band...

  7. Bedfordshire, to Newgale (Wales) Using M1,M25,M4 and Welsh A-roads.

Average Fuel Consumption 29.8mpg, mileage ran at time of refuel 321miles, total refill 52 litres...

this was driving the car in 6th gear and using cruise control to accel and decel... I guess this is the best I'll get . On the way back ... 21mpg...

Wednesday 29th I spotted a 350z on the M4 around 9:00pm in a rush to get to Bristol ... blue 53 ;) while i was driving my car like Mr Atric, Geri - Atric ;) anyone here..( maybe not the right spot I will repost this on the other forum...)

  8. the more I drive it the more I like it... it is amazing ...

still getting to grips with grip issues, and the rain is helping... but now I am getting a good feel of what it likes and it doesn't...

completely different experience from my FR wheel drive days...

I think I need a track day or two to have a bit of a play in a "safe" environment and get more familiar with the capabilities of the car.

Do you guys organise days out like this ?

If so, I would be interested in hearing about it...

  9. wow! what a welcome!

    got it! U N B E L I E V A B L E!

but trust it to be pissing it down...

first roundabout on bridgestones and it was a copy of

    DRIFT KING and stained pants...

my wife has just started to talk to me (5 hours after the "cornering familiarisation")

so... road angel, park pro, and michelin pilot sports ... me thinks.

    but i love it :teeth::thumbs:

  10. From tomorrow I will be the proud owner of a Gunmetal Alezan GT Specced 350 zed...

It has taken it's time but finally the bullet has been bitten...

Now then ... off to find which is the best Laser/Radar/Gatso detector... because I can see the speed limits will accidentally be broken one or two (many) times...accidentally, of course, but need to try and ensure I contain myself...

Incontinence is a messy business... :teeth:

ANYWAY... hello everyone... you'll be seeing a bit more of me in future...
