  1. Ahoy-hoy!!

I wouldn't worry too much about whether you get an import or a UK car. Read up the this forum for some useful information on the differences etc.

It can be simpler to buy an import that has already been owned by someone in the UK as it will (should) have been converted and setup ready to go. The only problem that people seem to suffer from is hidden charges, so that £14k bargain turns into a £16k not-quite-so bargain. There is a thread here somewhere about Bonsai Cars for example, that could be worth a read.

But then I have a UK car from eBay, so what do I know?

  2. I managed to find what I think is a good car on eBay recently. On Sunday 29th Oct in fact hehe

Took a few months of constant looking on Autotrader, Pistonheads and eBay but I got there in the end. It just proves that you can get a good car, GT spec for the sort of money you guys have, just be patient and stick to your requirements.

  3. Wow! MG 160 to Zed, thats a big step in performance. Hope you are ready for a huge grin!

Take care and have fun! :teeth:

    I have leapt from a 1993 Nissan Primera 2.0 SLX.......God help me!

I think a common "mod" is to replace the aerial with the beesting one from the Honda S2000 as it looks great. I will be considering that when I eventually get my Z.

And welcome to the forum sutski :)

  4. Looks like a good buy :yahoo:

Bought mine about 3 weeks ago, basically same but rear parking sensors, no tracker or rear tonneau, only 12300 miles and 13 months newer...... but nearly £3000 more

(presume yours is a UK model)

Yes it is a UK car B)

  5. Spec of the car:

MOT Expiry Date (MM/YYYY): Oct 2007

    Date of 1st Registration: 31 Oct 2003

(just buy the relevant cradle for your mobile phone from Nissan)

  6. Took a Z for a test drive yesterday and won the auction for it on eBay. I am one happy chappy!!

£16,800 which I think is a good price, especially with the new tyres and MOT it has.

Thanks go to Sarnie for his continued advice, I appreciate the help and suggestions mate

Pictures are attached here, I hope!

  7. This car has been sold already. Which is really  as its exactly what I am after

I rang them up the day after I saw the ad appear and they told me they got swamped with telephone calls.

Now if I can track down the buyer (who has only put a deposit down at this stage) and kill him, the car could be mine!! Yes mine, all mine!! Mwuhahahahahahahaha.......

  8. Found some more detail about the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) import cars that people might find useful:

There are 4 trim levels in Japan:

    Base model

    17" alloys

    Cloth seats

    Version S

    18" alloys

    Brembo brakes

    Sports suspension

    Sports Dynamic Control

    Luxury Version T

    17" Alloys

    Heated leather seats

    Bose Sound System

    Version ST

Combines the Sport and Luxury features of the S and T (Equivalent to the GT Pack UK)

A lot of the Version T cars have extras that make them the equivalent to the UK GT Pack cars. Apparently.

  9. (Excuse the crap quality of my phone's camera... It goes about half way again behind where I'm stood taking the photo)

I reckon you took it like that deliberately. You see, your real vehicle is the white van in the background and you realised we would be onto you if you took a better picture........

  10. I think with all the niggles in the back of my mind it may be best left alone :( Shame as I can't seem to find a good one in my price range.

Sounds like the best course of action to me. Sometimes you just get a bad feeling and your instincts are oftn correct.

I am also struggling to find a good car that is in my price range too, and by "good" I mean "not silver" :yuck:

Welcome to the site, you are in the right place as I have had some good advice already from the guys here, and good Z-hunting mate.
