  1. i think these itrip things can be a bit hit and miss , i had one for my ipod mini in my avensis, and it worked perfecly- only in one position , undeneath my sun visor-ie right next to the ariel!!!!.

my friend however has one for his ipod photo and it works perfectly, everytime, even in his pocket!!!!

i think mounting it in the correct position is ESSENTIAL

  3. OK ,

couple of points need clearing in my head, so your input would be valuable guys

I have had the Z for 2 weeks now :teeth::teeth::teeth:

its on the bridgestones, all 4 tyres have covered less than 500 miles and i must admit after reading some posts on this site you guys have me worried :surrender:

i get the impression you guys think they are useless , especially in the wet,

i have been driving the car in terrible conditions this week (TCS always on) and found the grip levels to be excellent.

so whats the dealio, will the grip suffer badly as i put the miles on compared to other makes-

And another thing parked next to my bros BMW 318 M sport , i was comparing the rear tyres, HIS WERE WIDER AND MORE LOWER PROFILE than my uk rays WTF!!!!!!!!! :scare:

  4. ive seen this car on sale for a long time , i remember the "jon" registration plate , i think it was on sale privately in autotrader about 6 months ago, hence i dont think its a fresh import, i think it has had one owner already in the uk-that may be a good thing though as they would have ironed out all the creases,

The bumper doesnt match the body colour wise , and it would look even worse in real life IMO,

I think there are plenty of better examples at the same price range, i personally would not feel comfortable buying a molested z from the other side of the world

but this is just my opinion

  5. Finally today was z day,

started early enough , dealer rang me at 830( i was up at dawn) , i heard the phone ring and saw it was their number and i thought AAAAAAAARrrrrrrrrh , its the dreaded "sorry sir theres a problem with your car" but no he rang to ask me what time i was comming to pick up the z YIPEEE

so after picking up my dad we went to the dealer , it was a 40mile trip up the M6 , absalutely pi55in down with rain, couln't go above 50 practically, after seeing two accidents (and nearly having one of my own) we arrived at holdcroft , paid the remainder of the balance (i didnt think you could put that much money on switch!!)

as i started it in the dealer i saw the guy behind me picking up his MG rover yellow thingy, his face was so funny when i revved the engine ,

but it was still pissing down  and after 15 mins of waiting for it to clear with no result i just though -screw it im driving now this now

    wow :teeth:

    1st time driving it alone

    just wow

took me 30mins before deciding to turn on the bose before realising i had my the cds at the dealer!!!!!

no matter though, only problem now was traffic on the m6, had not even got to above 4000rpm!!! for a whole hour!!!!! i was slowing down in the traffic jams the clear a little bit of room to have a bit of a squirt-only for a articulated lorry to take the space up and ruin my fun

what was a good surprise was how easy it was to drive in a jam -the clutch is lovely

got home safely , and i gotta say, seeing a z parked in my driveway is unreal, ive never seen a z look so good!!!! , then i realised it had folding mirrors -never knew i had these!!!

then at midnight i went out again in search of empty dual carriageways - i cant imagine any other car being quicker than this!! quite why any one would want to F/I a 350 is beyond me!!!

an IS200 and a civic type r, know now not to try and race a z, and a saxo driver thinks he is quicker than a z (i didn't give him the pleasure of a race)

only problem was, well not really a problem but i was very warm in the z , yeah yeah i could have had the windows down and and ac on , but with the windows up and the climate control on 18.c( coldish air was coming out of the vents) i was still warmer than i thought i should be (outside temp 15'c), the heaters in the seats were not on before you ask and the temp engine guage wasn't ever over half

one other thing, the dealer filled it up with premium , i know im supposed to from now on but what differences do you get with standard unleaded-are any differnces noticeable?

tomorow can not come soon enough :yahoo:

  6. HI

just wanted to ask a couple of questions about the phone cradle in the armrest, my uk model has it fitted for various nokia phones and i was just wondering what peoples experiences were using it,

IE does anyone have their phone plugged in , or does everyone use the bluetooth adapter, are they as good as each other? does the phone get charged in the cradle?

I also wanted to if anyone has successfully managed to get a good result with pluging a nokia in there, Which model did you use?

the reason why im asking is that i hate all the new phone bollox , i am on contract but sell my upgrade phone every year on ebay 250-300(Which pays for most of my bills ) and use old nokias instead ,so ideally i would get an old nokia thats compatible with the kit

    thanks in advance

    T minus 16hous before Z arrives

  7. thanks for the advice guys,

    w

ent to halfords 1st ,funnily enough they didn't have gun metal , but they did have blade silver, the spotty teenager (no joke) told me they were identical and i was like mmmmmmmmmright, they did have a graphite grey for nissan cars which looked like a good match, but i got mr no GCSE's to go and get more detail on their paints, he brought a big folder back showing that nearly all their nissan paints were for models pre millenium!!! so i walked away

next stop was a dealer, i asked for gun metal paint brush please, he asked for my paint code , i replied "GUN METAL" , hes like no "YOUR PAINT CODE!" apparently on the bottom corner of the chassis plate!

So after parting with 4pounds and ordering^^^what mike suggested i should be able to do a good job,

i will post before and after photos

  8. as the z is going to be my daily driver i was just wondering if it would make sense to buy a banger just to drive to the dodgy parts of brum and such,

saw an mr2 for 400squids fsh 6mo warrenty runs good, itl also give me that rush of driving the z again after popping around in that 4 cylinder

    what do you think guys?

also i am the policy holder for my 350z with admiral 25yrs no no claims no points or accidents-1200 squids -is that ok -it also gives me third party on any other car does that mean i wont have to buy insurnce for the mr2

Well Im picking up the Z in 48hrs exactly and im already thinking of buying a second car!!!!!!
