2005 nice! But were do you get the year from?
from the 17-9-10 in bottom right hand corner 17 signifies 17th year of the reign of Akihito (current Emperor, spelling may be wrong though )
Welldone, I would never have guessed that....
so
2316 @ 2002/11
8899 @ 2003/05
10124 @ 2003/06 bit close must be when it got repaired
then doing around 1200Km/month
some missing years
43444 @ 2005/09
-
Best of luck, hope Santa doesn't give you too much competion.

I'm going to get a P2 service done to my JDM. For the curious do you think it's last service was a P1 or P2?
-
p.s. anyone know if the UK fluids used are the same for JDMs?
-
Hi,
here is a copy of the UK service page.

I think the car brings out the worst in other drivers. I had a ned pull up alongside at the lights and rev the little engine on his hatchback. I just looked across, shook my head and pointed to the bonnet.
What it says about me? well what can you say given my record of previous cars, maybe I should change FFS! to Midlife Crisis!

POLITICAL RANT WARNING.
The law should say you lose your human rights as soon as you commit a crime that imposes on someones human rights, i.e. the right to not have possessions knicked or get a kicking for looking the wrong way.
My second law is we then send them all to Iraq so they know who lucky they are.
I'll vote for any party that does that.

Yeh, will catch any car till it gets to a speed bump then their home freeee.

Only have one key for a JDM so bought a RCL key from Ebay and will get new blade cut but will it start ignitiion? I'm hoping as I've had an immobiliser installed should work okay then I just need to recode the remote bit. Came across this link, should think all Nissans are similar. Anyone done anything similar on a Z?
p.s. Am I barking up the wrong tree?
-
It's started to get a bit dark leaving work. Only have 10 miles to home, mainly on the motorway but noticed I got flashed a couple of times after I zipped past the traffic. Did the normal checks, fog lights, dash backlit so lights are on. Doh!
In my old car, it only backlit the dash when the lights are on, the Z is backlit all the time. I just been whizzing up the road in my BlackZ in stealth mode.
-
Is it just a S model or an ST?
Any idea on the service history, my JDM came with the service book and it's pretty easy to make out at what km's the services were done.

Great pics, very arty.
Liked the high up shot, how did you get the ladders in the boot?
-
I've had a dog in the boot but never one wearing a white bikini,

You could make a fortune doing this for import zedders
--------------------------------------------------------
Yep, trouble is not many up north so for a southern market would need to include expenses and a night out in any quotes.
Seriously mentioned this to my importer as lots of value adds they could do.
-
Thanks for this - you have done this yourself already with an Xtrail unit like this? How is it going?
I gave Nissan a call and they are tentative about installing something i purchase from elsewhere (e.g. xtrail unit). They quoted it takes the car away from 'factory standards'.
How difficult was this? Is there any chance you would put together an instruction sheet for us 'importees' - i would pay you a few quid for this if i was able to do it and save on the labour costs?....
I'm just terrified to buy this and be left with something i can do nothing with.
Thanks
Andrew

The link http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4669 covers some instructions. I'm a novice and didn't fancy paying £200+ so had a go first as I knew I would be careful, not sure how careful garage monkeys are?
I was surprised how easy the interior trim just pulled off and went back in. Getting to the rear of the naviunit is a pain as I didn't want to take of the whole boot trim. You need to get to the rear as the cable have clips which you can only access from the rear.
If you replacing just the navi unit it shouldn't be a problem but if you want to replace the controls too then try http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/dash_removal/
As for the unit, running well but having a woman who's always correct can be annoying. Only issue is 've a 2003 disk but currently getting a 2006 and program disk to test. Will post results on main link.

Nope, I've been emailing Nissan and a few mobile phone companies about the connection spec. The last reply from Nissan this week was
"I have sent your pictures off to our technical department, and again they have stated that there is no information available for us. The electronics and the wiring loom are totally different in the European and Japanese spec 350Z's and we do not hold specific information on vehicles we do not offer in the UK. We have sent a query to Nissan Japan, but just to make you aware they can take a number of weeks to reply. Again I can only recommend that you speak to your local Nissan dealership to discuss your options. Even if we manage to obtain a list of compatable mobile phones, they will be Japanese specification phones which can be different to the phones we have here in Europe."

No cables required, just had a navi unit with disc and able to do a straight swap.

Nice post, vids worked no bother with good sound for a windy'ish day.
Good to see the track walkthrough only question about positioning on the track is "should your dad really be standing on the outside of the last corner?"
Welldone and happy birthday!
