  1. Just took the car on holiday with me. Had a really good drive down to the south of France and back.

Give the French their due they make relay good motorways! Not a bump or noisy road surface all the way down. Mind you you pay a premium for it. Over the course of the holiday I reckon I spend around 200 euros = £135 on the motorway tolls.

They've also got some really good driving road. Took a trip to the Millau bridge (the tallest longest bridge in Europe) featured on Top Gear and decided to get off the motorway for a while. Girlfriend said that the views were pretty impressive and I throught the 350z was handling perfectly.

When we were their we also met the Ferrari equivalent of the gumball rally. 30 or so Ferrari's' driving along the French back roads. Tried to take some pictures but missed most of them trying to get my dads camera to work and the windscreen of my parents hire car was pretty dirty so sorry for the quality of the pics.

Free bottle of nice wine we brought back, for guessing what the hire car we in was......... (Delivered to the Wales drive only)

See you all in Wales

  2. Sorry a bit late to add to the comments of other but it was a great day and loved driving in convoy with all the other guys. People reactions are just so funny. Most of them possibly have never seen a Z never mind 6 of them driving pased, never mind 5 in Azure Blue

Can't wait to start waking up the sleepy towns in Wales with 16 Zeds is it?!?!?!

Would suggest that anyone who can make it, comes! Guaranteed a great day out no matter what the weather is like. Can't wait!

  3. Well well......

Quick review of the day and some pics.....

Day started at 8:30 when we left the house and headed out to meet Stevie at the services to travel down. We met up at an extremely busy Fleet services (really good to meet you and your girlfriend and a lovely car too)

Then the journey really started. Had some fun on the way down but soon met the traffic and the other 100,000 other people going to the Air Race.

Crawled along for the next 6 hours. Yes its not a typo. 6 hours!

Apparently there had been a lot of accidents around the Longleat area, although we didn't see anything.

Soon there were people doing U-turns in the traffic and giving up and going home. Stevie eventually decided quite rightly to follow them and head home too.

My girlfriend and I decided we'd stick it out and hope to see something. At around 3:30, we go closer to Longleat, the police informed us that the event had been delayed due to the weather and they were going to try and start the Air Race about 4 - 4:30 as they had been told that the weather would start to clear. This cheered us up a little. It took us another hour to get the last 10 miles into the car park.

On our way from the car park on the 15 minute walk to the spectator areas we heard the announcement that the Air Race had finally been cancelled and everyone was to go home. Desperately need a toliet we battle through the thousands for people going in the opposite direction.

We hung around for an hour or so to let the masses leave the carpark and grabbed a bite to eat before heading back to the car for another 3 1/2 hour drive home.

All in all a pretty bad day.

  4. Anyone know if there is an accessory trigger output from the alarm that gets pulsed when the alarm is armed?

I know there is a LED that flashes between the steering wheel and the windscreen then the alarm is armed. Might be of help if you are looking for a pulse..

  5. That made me laugh mate, I'm still laughing, SOZ :p

Your car looks great in the sig BTW B)

Still need to get some pics of the car with the roof down...... Looks even better without the hood up. Will see if I remember next time we get some sun and I give it another good clean.

  6. I noticed this but assumed it was paralax (sp) error.

It is possible for the digital and analogue to read different speeds even if the reading is coming from the same place. I don't know how the Zed is hooked up but the digital speedo will have an analogue input converted (speed at gearbox or wheel) into the digital reading via a scale such as 4-20mA or something. This in turn could vary (as all electronics do) due to temperature etc. Thus giving a different output from the analogue one that isn't converted!

If I'm speaking sh*t let me know.

Just to confuse things even further......

Tyre tread depth and pressure also must make a difference to the reading on all the readings!

  7. Two things,

Will the planes not scare the animals?

What if someone has a small problem and lands in the lion enclosure?

Cars drive throught animals enclosures all day long and Longleat is a huge place. More than enough room to not disturb them.

If he does land in the Lions enclosure he'll hit a tree before he gets anywhere near the ground so therefore the lions would be the last thing that he would be thinking about. :scare:

  8. Hanel,

I'm sorry to be pedantic fu**er (as per usual) but could you advise me why you are advertising stubby washing powder in your sig; do you use it for the roof ;)

    sorry

    :headhurt:

Didn't notice that. Thanks for letting me know. All fixed

  9. Hmmm... I'm in the red car park - it says on the instructions to take M4 J17, then local roads. Are you travelling 303 cos its more fun? Might not be on Sat!

What time are you setting off? We weren't planning to be there until lunch, but are flexible.

I would love to meet up and go in convoy! I need to get up early and clean the motor!

    :p

I'm in the Red carpark too. Information I have says to go

    A303(Westbound), A36 and A350 or

    M4 (Junction 17) and A350

Either way A350 is our designated road into the event. Don't mind which way we go. Would like to meet up and go in convoy too. Whatever is easiest for you will be good for me.

I was going to leave the house at about 9. It's normally about a 2 hour drive down. With the traffic say about 2 1/2+, so there at 12 at the latest. Walk and you're there for the first display at 12:15

If you do fancy going by the M3, A303 route we could meet at the Fleet service at about 9:45. The AA say it's a 1hr 20mins from there to Longleat so that give an extra hour for traffic.

If you fancy some other way then let me know and I'll be more than happy to go with that.

  10. I'm off to France too. Must be around the sametime.

Going to be on through the Tunnel on Friday the 15th and staying over in Reims on Friday night and then travelling down to St. Tropez (around about points 12 and 13 on your map) on Saturday for a week.

If you fancy a break and a glass of wine then you're more than welcome to stop by.

  11. Have tickets, will travel. I'm in Staines, and will be setting off early. Anyone fancy meeting up?

    Cheers!

    Sorry for the late reply.

    I'm just across in Richmond.

Which way were you thinking of going?

I would normally go along the M3 and then take the A303 over.

If that's the way you were planning on going why don't we meet at a service station along the M3? I think the Fleet services isn't that far out of London.

    Any other suggestions welcome...........

  12. I think I'll try and meet you at the B&Q in Chesterfield and follow along from there.

I'll need to confirm this next week once I see if one of my friend from Northampton wants to come. If he does then I can stay at his and then be at the B&Q on time. If not then I'll be coming from south west London which is about a 3 1/2 hour drive so I doubt I'll make it there for 9:30am

    I'll confirm asap.

  13. Right guys, this thread has scared the @*!# out of me :scare:

Just gone to check my oil, and firstly what a pain in the arse that is

    Does this reading look ok?

    Caroil004.jpg

Turn the dip stick over and you'll see the marking just below these two little kinks. The kinks themselves aren't the max/min level.

    ROLMFAO

    ROLMFAO ?

    Don't you mean ROFLMFAO?

Rookie mistake! Obviously never checked his oil! I think we should call on the mods to demote Sarnie as the title he has just now implies some intelligence.
