  1. You will love it mate..

These cars are so cheap to insure in comparisson to other near 300bhp cars. Im 23 and paying £800, £400 less than my S2000.

Love it more and more :teeth:

Thats cheaper than me and Im 26.. by around £130.. what insurance company you with?

I'm 27 3 points and 3 yrs ncd and mine is £680 for my gt4 as well!!!

26, >5 yrs NCD, 0 points..... £930 ish with Tesco.

I was with Tesco's for 2 yrs and they quoted me £1k for my standard zed

    Try RAC motor quoter

Cheers for that, just had a quote online worked out at over £1000. Its not up for renewal for a while, so will try again then. Its amazing how much quotes can change over even small periods of time. I got a quote from Tescos on line in the morning, and then again in the afternoon.. and it had gone down. However it has also gone the other way and I have ended up paying more within a matter of days.

  3. Very useful info.

I have been thinking of buying a claybar. As my car is fairly new I am abit worried about damaging the paintwork.. I have read that some are more abrasive than others. I intend buying a fine clay as I have read that they are safer to use and less abrasive?... is the Meguairs Quick Clay a fine clay?

Also has anyone tried the Sonus Paintwork Cleanser? Im also under the impression that this is not as abrasive? Anyone got any good low abrasive alternatives?

  4. The engine is at it's most efficient at it's torque peak - so that's around 4000rpm in std form (I think - check), whatever speed that is in 6th. However you then have to factor in wind and rolling resistance which is not a linear relationship with speed (ie going from 60-70 mph uses a lot less energy than going from 70-80).

That is the joy of science - sounds impressive, but I still don't know what the answer is :D:blush::D

I am sure that in 6th at 4000rpm you will be doing approx 100mph. Just seem to recall that when I had to keep my car below 4000rpm.

  5. my 06 has been rear ended!!!! the insurance company are being a nightmare and the so called approved repairer have had my car for over three weeks! i picked it up today, but the paint is crap and the fitting is also sh*t.... they said bring it back next week and they'll polish all the bits out that are stuck in the paint.....now im not that stupid and dont think the hundreds of bits of cr*p that are stuck into the paint will come out..... i just want my car back to its former self and will pay to get it done properly...........can anyone recommend someone that will lovingly do the job? i was maybe thinking of a big kit to go on instead...any ideas?

I had the same thing with my last car which was an MR2 roadster. The "approved" repairer did a poor job... bits all in the paint, the bumper didnt fit properly, neither did the rear light cluster, areas on the bumper where not fully sprayed with paint.. and they got silver paint all over black plastic trim, their solution to this was to rub it down and spray it black. They had it 3 times to sort it out, and never put things right. In fact everytime they had it back they fcked something else up. In the end I took it to a place that wasnt an approved repairer and they did a top job. Makes you wonder how on earth some of these places get to be an approved repairer... I would imagine it all comes down to price rather than quality of the workmanship.

Overall it took from March to Nov/Dec to sort it all out.. and the damage to the car was only minor

  6. guys.... In exactly the same way as you put a picture up, put that same code in your signature....

    i.e.

http://location of your image just use the [ ] brackets instead of < > Insert that into your signature, and it should be sorted...

Just try to keep the depth of the sig to a minimum, i.e. not a load of lines of text and a sig, otherwise the sigs start to look bigger than the posts. LOL

    Hope that helps.

I have been messing around trying to get this to work. Does it matter where the image is stored? as my images are on : C:\Documents and Settings\Michael\My Documents\My Pictures.

do you keep it as or do you type the name of your image in?

  8. in the space of a day, I have completely changed my mind... ordered a porter cable this afternoon. Will be testing it on my P reg Saxo before I let loose on the Z. I shall post pics and let U all know the outcome

  9. With the front badge being in a recess, it was extremely easy to fit, no worries of not getting it straight. However not got this on the back, so slightly worried of fking it up and ending up with the badge not in the centre/not straight.

  10. I was cleaning my car this weekend and noticed loadz of white flecks of paint down both sides of the car. I would imagine that its from road markings. I have had a go at getting it off. It comes off with edge of my finger nail around a cloth... but not sure if this is the best way to do it? Anyone else had this problem? anyone any idea of how to easily remove the specks of white paint?
