Mark, you're obviously on the ball with this - give us a shout when you've got some more info/prices if you wouldn't mind, if it looks like its gonna work with the existing base unit I'll get involved if the price isn't shocking. From the sounds of things there may be a good few others, might even be able to negotiate a group discount if theres enough numbers involved?

Aye, would also be good to get a ball park figure for this BT adapter as well. Are we going to have to buy it from Nissan or can we go direct etc?

On your recommendation (and others) I bought a load of Meguiars kit at the weekend (£70's worth! )....

As it belted it down all weekend not had chance to wash her yet. So if this the best way of applying the NXT wax ?

Have you tried the NXT booster spray as well for between waxing to "top it up"?

So this effectively means that I'd have to buy a Nissan cradle (as I don't have one at all). Then put this Bluetooth component in to work with my phone?? Does that sound right?

So what was the list of cradles that he provided Mark?

Going to have to see how much one is from the local (ripoff) Nissan dealer...... then wonder how much this BT component is going to be....

HI they are a dealer of ours, just one point we do not offer lifetime warranties so I guess this is his, our and 3M warranties are for 4 years only. or 45,000 miles which is practicaly the life of the average non company car before resale.

 

 

The £750 guarantee is UP to £750 as obviously some repairs will work out less than that

 

I am glad that Autoshades are keeping up the good work although I must ask why it took them so long

I have this fitted in my car.

 

 

A wiring loom adapter can be used between the stereo and the Parrot control unit so that the unit is effectively plug and play. (I am waiting for a price for the loom adaptor for any forum member that might be after one.)

 

The mic clips on to the A pillar cover and the display can be mounted in a variety of different places to suit the driver.

 

I'll post some pics later in the week.

forgot to add: doesn't do it at low low revs as Kuro says, but when I cane it above 4500 revs. It's not really rasp, but you definitely hear the different tone of the exhaust

Aye it can be. Its a pretty simple implementation to be honest. Don't use anything to do with the existing kit or the existing wiring loom....

It just uses Bluetooth to integrate with your phone. Its only the display that gets mounted and can be removed easily enough. The only thing that it uses is a wire that attaches into the stereo to mute if a call comes through and uses the car speakers to provide sound.

They've done a few allegedly....... just wondering if anyone had actually used one of the Parrot products.

Just looking at alternatives for the lack of phone support on the existing car kits (pre 06)..... and this has been suggested by a car phone specialist.

If they are any good, then I have started laying some groundwork about negotiating a discount for this forum that I can speak to one of the moderators about....

Looking for any feedback at the moment to see if its worthwhile.

The normal range of cradles doesn´t work on the Nissan base unit, because the baseunit is blocked.

The Adapter BT Nissan is available second week of May.

Here are a list wich cradles are for Nissan Baseunit.

The on thing tht does annoy me is the fact that Nissan have decided to add the stereo and phone controls to the roadster models on the 06. They were left off the 05 roadsters for some reason?

 

I just need to source the parts and retro fit this though, which will provide me with some fun, so its not all bad.

As far as I know, the reason why this was done is because the steering wheel controls on the 05 roadster interfered with the roof electronics. Now that they have gone to bluetooth for phones, means that they have sidestepped this problem.

So not sure whether you will be able to retro fit anyway.....

Isn't there an in built timer on the Z that you can use for lap timing?

I.e on the computer that scrolls through the Mpg, dte, time etc.... thought one of them was a lap timer?

But guess thats why they changed it to bluetooth for the 06 model, just stuffs the rest of us....

I forgot to say...... so that means that if I can't find a way around the encryption that I HAVE to buy a cradle from a Nissan dealer at extortionate rate for a crap phone that I don't have?

unfortunately only Nissan cradles will work with our base unit handsfree. they are encrypted, I'm afraid

 

This has been discussed at lenght on the old forum, lots of people have tried and failed, but of course nothing stops you to try a different approach!

Yeah I've just read that somewhere that sells the cradle and that was my concern.....

Mmmm there has to be a way around this, I wonder where the encryption actually is held, i.e if its in one component of the overall system.....

Guys I know there must have been countless questions about the phone system in the 350z, but does anyone know for sure whether the kit adheres to any of this?

I've been told that its THB Bury system and as such should accept different cradles, but do we know if its a UNI System 8 VoiceTalk or CarTalk DSP car kit system (or neither)?

Just that if it is then I should be able to get a cradle that fits my phone as the dealers are just crap with this information?

Who is the real phone expert then?

You are in luck!

I have one, and in the box you should get all of the below apart from I don't remember it coming with dedicated software to manage your address book by the USB. But you can do it through Outlook via the USB interface....

and you get a handsfree cable that doubles as FM radio aerial.

Spotted a blade coupe going westbound towards St Helens. Coming over the Greyhound Pub roundabout yesterday 29th March 2006 at approx 5pm. Suited up bloke.
