  1. I received mine last weekend, am really unhappy with the quality, the lacquer and carbon weave is crap in places and the edges are very uneven with what appears to be drips of lacquer. Don’t actually believe its carbon fibre, looks to be glass fibre with perhaps a carbon or carbon substitute top layer.

The Z badge does not fit flush with the cover as it has raised bits behind that must in normal practice fit into a dent/groove in the Z’s bodywork.

I actually took the badge off and removed the raised bits, took ages but the badge is now flush, removed the thick sticky pad used and just used some thin glue.

Also the badge has two ‘pins’ coming out of it to fit into two holes drilled in the cover I should have removed these as well, as the holes are not in the correct place and the Z in the badge is not straight, but I’ve stuck it on with glue – doh!!

Obviously all IMO, but a complete waste of money, may be I have a duff one but would advise you to spend your money somewhere else.

  2. Glad you like it, did'nt notice the noise too much though but then I have the Nismo exhaust.

The cats will make it slightly louder do you have an upgraded exhaust?

(That ACE cafe was wicked, cant wait to go back!)

  3. As it’s only a day away now, would prefer to keep it tomorrow (Saturday) as we are going to a party in West London and had planned to meet you, have some dinner and then go to the party.

Obviously if you can’t make tomorrow then let me know and I’ll meet you tonight, otherwise tomorrow would be best.

As for the 4x4, obviously I’m not going to get one yet (as such), am thinking about an RS4, but the Touraq V10 in black, with no bull bars or spare wheel on the back etc looks fantastic. They're not 'too' much money either. Fancy something really really fast this time, like the Audi.

  4. I think it’s a bit of a grey area, I had the plenum and cats on for a while and everything was as when I fitted them. The next step would be to have a re-map and what with the cats and plenum probably another 15 bhp, probably 30-40 bhp in total!!!, but IMO its not necessary.

  5. Hagar - Had the Nismo exhaust fitted at the same time, the quote from RJN for the brakes was as follows:

S-tune pads for Brembo front £150.90

S-tune pads for Brembo rear £137.18

    Brake Hoses £204.40

    Endless brake fluid £32.90

    Fitting £94.00

Appreciate its a few quid, but well worth the money and IMO worth going Nismo to retain a bit of factory approval. Again IMO it was the 1st modification to do, the brakes are strong from standard but just needed that extra feel and bite. (2nd mod – the Nismo exhaust!!!!)

With regards the discs, don’t bother upgrading until you need to, there are a few other threads on brakes and discs, so take a look. The standard ones are fine unless you go on a track, note Impreza and EVO’s both come with Brembos and solid discs.

Steve - Yes a bit squeely around town under light braking, I tend just to press the peddle a little firmer and get the braking done a little quicker. But that’s just part and parcel of uprated pads I suppose, has happened with all the pads I’ve upgraded on various cars before, I think its definitely offset by the extra bite!!

  6. As new, very few miles covered, just returning the car back to standard as considering selling/part-exchanging.

Originally bought for $819.98 (inc. postage) this equalled £482.41 + about £50 for customs.

Will except £250, I live in N.E. London (Woodford Green) very near the North Circular road, collection would obviously be best as they are two heavy’ish packages but will post if no other alternative at extra cost.

  7. Bloody hell and what’s with all the rust?

I had some Tarrox 40 groove discs ages ago that would rust everywhere.

Someone on another topic was swearing by DBA!?

  8. The mat came with the car as standard, but if you don’t have it would recommend it, bought the net separately - definitely worth it, you can either put small things in between the two layers of the net or stretch the whole thing down over bigger items.

Saves them going flying around the boot when you’re hammering it!

  9. Only a thought, but it might be worth a try - I know that The Palmer Sport outfit bought a few 350’s and then actually upgraded the Brembos to the Nismo big Brembo set-up, possibly they still have some standard Brembo callipers/discs around for sale?

I hammer mine and the standard Brembos are wicked, would definitely recommend them, I’ve upgraded the lines and pads and would advise you do the same if you do the callipers.

  10. £1074 inc. VAT!!!, I know its a lot, but want the car to remain standard'ish with Nissan associated parts therefore hopefully be able to sell it on a bit easier, possibly part exchange it as I already have my eye on the new GTR.

I don’t want it to draw too much attention like a chavy Nova with a big-bore, just want the Z to be understated cool. The Nismo Exhaust sounds just right, even my girlfriend who is really un-car'y doesn’t mind it and it actually really suits the car and IMO how it should have sounded from new.
