Tried to attach a picture of the debadged rear, but it was 2.17meg and the site limit is 2 meg.

Had the Z Permagard'ed yesterday, it looks absolutely amazing, better than new, the finish is unbelievable, cant stop looking out of the lounge window at it.
The best thing is that it doesn’t need to be washed or polished in the future, just sponged off with plain water and dried.
It cost £160 for the bodywork and I paid an extra £45 for the windows, so plus VAT came to £240 definitely well worth the money.

As the subject says, it looks much better, a lot stealthier and actually improves the look of the rear.
Had the rear tailgate resprayed and I asked them not to bother reapplying the 350Z badges (obviously put the Nissan badge on) - looks wicked!!
-
Thanks, but these are 'proper' spoilers, am just looking for a small lip, just to give it that edge, like on the 996 Turbo, plain black plastic would be fine.
-
Was hoping for something a bit meaner without having to go for a full spoiler.
For example I changed the front 'lip' on my old Golf GTI for the V6 model and it looked a bit meaner.
Did the same on an old 306 for the GTI lip.
Are there any small skirts available?
Thanks.

They look good, thinking about getting one for my 2004, are these spoilers just covers or do they protrude out/down any further?
-
Looks fine without the badges doesn’t it, will leave them off for a while.
Thanks!

I'm having the rear tailgate resprayed at the moment and the guy said that he would likely have to order new 350Z badges to reapply, I said not to hold up finishing the car just for the badges and if necessary I could get them and fit them at a later date.
I’ve always been one in the past for going for a smooth look and de-badgeing the numbers etc and just leaving the manufacturer badge, so therefore wondered what the Zeds look like with just the centre Nissan badge?
Do they look cool or just that someone’s had a re-spray and not fitted the badges?
Any pictures?
Thanks.

Has anyone had their car Permagard’ed?
Appreciate there might be similar treatments, but it’s Permagard in particular that I’m interested in as they are recommended in EVO and are really local to me in the Docklands.
EVO's F550 has had it applied and from the pictures looks like new, thinking about having it applied to the Z.
Gave them a call, will be £140-£190 + vat inc. the wheels, which isn’t too bad.
(And I know people are going to tell me to use a particular polish/wax etc, but I’m lazy and have better things to do at the weekend.)

Had a Miltek system on a Golf GTI Turbo, was really impressed with the quality and they are made in reasonably small numbers so if you want a particular design with more/less packing in the boxes etc they will do it.
The Golf system saw a fairly decent BHP increase, so hopefully it should with the Z, although smaller because it isn’t a turbo.

IMO SS brake lines always make an improvement and did so on the Z, it removed a bit of the mushy feel.
I went for the Nismo lines, but appreciate that these are more expensive than some, Goodridge do good quality ones.
If you are doing the pads and fluid at the same time then IMO a very worthwhile addition.
-
I'm a 'to Nismo' guy, the exhaust is wicked, just the right sound, doesn’t sound aftermarket at all, you could believe it came like it as standard.
Bought mine and had it fitted by RJN, cost a few quid but give Bob a call and see if he can do you a good price, mention my name, Mark Williams.
Cat-back is fine, the Nismo exhaust sounds just right, Nismo do uprated cats, but they’re about £1000 for the pair, truthfully IMO unless you’re going for that extra 10bhp don’t bother with cats as well as the exhaust as it will start to sound LOUD.
No other mods need to be done with just swapping the exhaust, or even with the cats.
From standard I thought the only things needing modding were the exhaust and the brakes, would definitely recommend upgrading the pads and lines with Nismo stuff (again bought/fitted at RJN), they ‘finished’ off the car.

Glad everything is ok.
Tell me about the weight!! - it felt criminal to put the original ones back on.
As for selling the car, am having second thoughts (for the time being at least), so all in all a pain in the ass for nothing, but never mind at least I have the option now. Have gone off the RS4, think they're a bit too grown up, keep seeing the Cayman S' about!!
-
You see, I told you they would be ok, especially with the standard exhaust, personally I would leave it at that for a while.
Glad you're happy with them.
Did you remember to 'mould' the heat shield foil stuff away from the cats?
-
They did'nt come with any gaskets, when I enquired I was told to use the originals as aparently they are good quality.

Hagar
Think you're reading a bit too much into it, don’t worry - be happy.
Just loosen the brace until it is neither pushing or pulling the towers and then gently tighten until you can feel the towers are being pushed apart a fraction, then lock it in place.
There’s no real science to it.
Give me a call if you want.

So the Bose unit is not actually made by Bose??
What about the Bose logo everywhere and on the sub??
Or do you mean the standard unit in a non GT car?
-
Thanks Minel, will take a look.
-
Hummm, thanks for that Teddy!?
-
I’m sure this will have been asked before, is it possible to link an ipod to the Bose head-unit?
Another thread talked about whether the unit had a line-in, to no avail, but is there any other way?
Thanks.

1.5 hours, both to put them on and the same to take them off.
-
160mph M6 Toll Road, think there is possibly another 10mph in there but would take perhaps another 20-30 seconds to achieve it.
Felt very stable.
-
I did'nt put them on or take them off myself, just took it to my local garage, looked easy enough, I think they used an air-ratchet.
(Cant beleive how much lighter they were than the standard ones!)

I accept your comments, but don’t believe for one moment that mine is a one-off that’s why I posted the previous message and also this message on the site for others to be warned.
Don’t really care too much whether its true carbon because obviously it is only for aesthetics, but the gel coat is very uneven on most edges with ‘drips’, has bubbles in places and is crap around the holes for the bolts to fix it to the engine.
Presume the holes for the badges must be drilled in exactly the same place on all of the covers, perhaps with a template. In which case why are mine misaligned or are they all like this?
And with regards the badge being raised (by 2 or 3 mm!!), it looks crap and totally out of place, all of them must be like this unless there have been different badges used. Perhaps if a hole was cut big enough for the raised bits of the badge to sit in it would sit flush.
Am happy to continue this by PM, feel free to do so.

Don’t know anything about Supaguard so can’t compare.
They did such a professional job and the car was in all day, that for £240 I'm happy to have paid them to do it.
The manager had obviously had his car done and he showed me his car's wheel, it was filthy with brake dust and just with a sponge and plain water he wiped it clean, I was gob smacked.
I have never seen the car look so good, even when I have spent all day with various layers of Meguiars polishes.
Obviously time will tell, but first impressions are good.
