  1. The dealer has returned the clutch to stock without charging me. Still p!ssed off that they refuse to cover the flywheel under warranty though.
  2. The car is in at the dealer to have a clutch replaced at 28k miles. I wanted this dealt with under warranty but they said they would have to open it up to take pictures and so on for the warranty claim, and that this would mean the car being off the road for several days. I said to do that, but to go ahead and fit the clutch anyway while they're at it, and if the warranty didn't pay out (knew it was unlikely unless there actually turned out to be something broken) then I would pay. That way I get the car back quicker. While doing the clutch they tell me I need a new flywheel. As if the £510 for the clutch + fitting isn't enough, the flywheel is another £1560. So I've ordered a JWT clutch and flywheel from the US instead. I have to wait for it to arrive, but it will cost me £600 instead of £1800 for the clutch and flywheel from Nissan. Now the dealer is saying I still have to pay for the clutch that they ordered, because they can't return it. Is it just me or is that ludicrous? Why should I pay for anything that isn't fitted? Why the hell can't they put it back into stock? The worst thing is that they have my car and my credit card details so I can't refuse to pay. They have my credit card details because they told me I had to cover the cost of taking the clutch out before they'd go ahead with that work in order to do the warranty claim. So on top of all the expense of a clutch that isn't fit for purpose wearing out at less than 30k miles on a £30k car, I'm now being shafted by the dealer for a clutch plate I haven't even got.
  3. With this one you register your name and address, then sign up for a free- two-week trial of blockbuster online dvd rental, which you can then cancel, so it never costs you anything. Then you give your referral link out and hope others do the same. If 3 other people do it, that will get you an ipod shuffle. Completely free. The money comes from the other companies using it as a way of getting people to sign up for their services. There are other offers such as opening an account at Betfair.com, but the Blockbuster one is completely free as long as you cancel within 2 weeks. There is a "cancel" button on your account home page, so there's no need to write letters or anything. Simple.
  4. Hi folks, Apologies for being a bit cheeky, but take a look at this: http://www.ipodgrab.co.uk/?r=23525 - Help me get a free iPod!!! You can get a free iPod too. Follow that link, register your details, complete an "offer" and get your friends to follow your referral link. The "offers" are various things, but for example you can sign up for a free 2-week trial of Blockbuster video rental, which can then be cancelled free of charge. So, for £0 you get an iPod. Free stuff! Hope you don't mind me posting this here, you could benefit too.
  5. I just need a replacement as cheaply as possible. I'm waiting to hear from forgedinternals.com about the JWT clutch and flywheel. I was also looking at the JWT "Fidanza" flywheel on ultimatez.com, which is only $400 (about £250). They say it is compatible with the standard clutch plate. Trouble is the time it's going to take to get it shipped. The car is at Nissan in bits, and I'm stranded.... I wonder if it's about time there was some sort of concerted group action to get some satisfaction from Nissan regarding clutches. I have seen so many reports of clutch and flywheel wearing out at low mileage. Nissan say it's wear and tear, driver error. I say that the clutch on a car that cost me almost £30k ought to be up to the job of lasting more than 30k miles. Judging by the number of people with clutch complaints AND the fact that Nissan have upgraded the clutch in later models, it would seem that it certainly isn't fit for purpose. The sale of goods act requires products to be fit for the described purpose. Nissan's own description of their product is a 280BHP car capable of 0-60 in 6 seconds. Clearly the clutch is not fit for that purpose. Please post something here if you have had clutch problems at low mileage. If there's enough of us perhaps we can do something.
  6. Hi guys, Is there anywhere in the UK that can supply a replacement clutch and flywheel? If not, what about US sources? Many thanks folks.
  7. Thanks for the info. Where can I get a JWT clutch?
  8. Well, ebcbrakesdirect.com are quoting much better prices for discs than the dealer. About £50 for plain and £65 for grooved. EBC pads seem to be available for about £50 a set from needforspeed.co.uk. Compared to the £500+ quote from the dealer for discs and pads, EBC is waaaay cheaper. How hard is it to DIY disc and pad change? EBC discs: http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com/search/d ... &x=24&y=3#
  9. Hello everyone, I'm the newbie. Thanks for re-directing me over here, and thanks for the answers. Cheers.
