  1. Thanks for the advice guys, i will let you know how i get on!!! Now i need to go 2 class lol. Speak to you all later. Oh and meant to ask is there any chipsaway in scotland? pref near glasgow?

Do yourself a favour and steer clear of ChipsAway if the work involves paintwork!!!

I understand you have a had a bad experience but not all chipsaway outfits are the same. Best to go on a individual basis as they are all franchised operations anyway

Yeah I know that Mike but I disagree with the whole working methods of ChipsAway - when you do some respray touch up work out in the open then you know you are not going to be able to control where the overspray goes but yeah I got a duff one as the saying goes and im sure there are some ChipsAway guys out there that are diligent in their work :)

On previous cars I've had no problems whatsoever with Chipsaway having used the same guy twice..... What people need 2 remember is tho this is a franchise company so no doubt there are many cowboys around as get21 has experienced!!!

  2. If the car is being clayed for the first time, take your time, use plenty of lubricant and rinse each panel after claying. Pulling grit out of the body work will result in some of the smaller particles drying on the car again and you will not have fully removed the offending little bits of cr@p.

If you do use soapy water (I would wholeheartedly recommend you do not do this) then definitely rinse it well and often.

The one thing to remember to do after polishing the car, is to put some sort of sealant on the car. By claying the car you are removing particles ingrained in the protective surface of the car. By polishing, you are still removing a barrier from the car. Something like Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 or Auto Glym Ultra Gloss Protection will put back the protection on the car. Then apply the wax. Wax will not last for as long as a sealant.

Enjoy the claying, you won't believe how much comes off the car! :)

H5 I wish you'd clean my car, I'm good but nowhere near as fanatical as you

    Claybar OCD lol

I just try and understand what all these products claim to do and what they actually do. Spending time on Detailing World and seeing it work for yourself soon helps. Am happy to have a go though! :teeth:

And agreed with what Rob said.

    Hold u 2 that :-)

As long as you produce the avatar girl for entertainment you have a deal! ;)

No probelm i'll set up the wireless laptop on the 50" widescreen via the front window ;)

Did not realize a car cover could look so horney ;)

  6. OK - so who's doing the Wales run who lives south, of shall we say, Watford?

For anyone who thinks its a bit of a trek it's so worth it just for the run-out and get-together over a lunchtime roastie at Bala. If you make a weekend of it I have found that by staying 3 nights you can get a deal on accommodation (B & B - 10 minutes from Chester). That way it also keeps the other 'alf happy so its not all driving on one day and I have to say that Chester itself ain't a bad place to sightsee or shop if that's what it takes to clinch the weekend away. ;)

Only downside is having to slow down on the Sunday run for Mr Beavis so he can keep up. :p

Exactly what I'm doing, coming from Blazingsmoke it will be nice to get away! :teeth:

Will be going out and taking piccies of the countryside and the Zed in the countryside ;)

When you think about how much juice this drive is gonna cost people become reluctant..... Trust me this drive is a Sunday you'll never forget :teeth:

I had to slow down so i did not lose those behind me. :p

Name the venue for a head to head in the zed, Liamz found out the hard way when i out dragged him on the M56 ;)

Your fate will be the same :teeth:

For the record I forgot the TC was on..... Your memory seems to forget my 276 out performing your GT4 :p

  10. Well London gets the vote in the end!

    I have two questions;

    1) Are the people who voted for Manchester going to come to London or have a night out there instead?

    2) As London is not my home town who would like to organise the night out?

    Please respond everyone

To be fair i doubt i would go to london to be honest. Mainly cos i cant be bothered with it being soo far away. Dont rule me out though. put me down as a maybe

  11. I know mate its a big tradeoff, i think its a safer option to go down the trimming route as getting rid of the airbags i think is a bit stupid. Any suggestions of colours etc or pics that you know off to go with an azure blue Z??

    :teeth:

What do you mean when you say get rid of the airbags??? The whole system of just the seats??? Can't see the seats doin that much, plus can't see it bein hard to bypass...
