  1. Race results for the BritCar 24Hr race. Bob at RJN 350z came 15th overall.

Shows the BMW are not too bad as won last year also.

One of the driver instructor for the Elise Club drove (in a Civic ) in TWO teams for the same race and finished first in class.

    Steve

PS I know the other channel MAY have spent their members money (and select few invited to it ) on sponsorship but does not stop us being interested in 350z motor sports "well done Bob and all RJN".

  2. bit unfair as curcuit is Folembray in France. Pretty good in the dry but difficult to get power down in the wet.

Grant see you are doing the big circuits now, how does the car do against others.

I still thing it would be too heavy, but I probably did not have the skills to use the brakes as little as poss.

  3. There was 3 x VX220 in the LoTRDC series but now there is only one.

Tells me something, as both the drivers switched to Elise mid-season to stay competitive.

Would be elise all the way, unless you prefer something a little more entertaining.

  4. Would put Andy Walsh www.carlimits.com above anyone else.

He is superb, ex racer (now only does the LoTDR and won the first race among others) He has been an instructor for years and has 1000's of happy customers to the point you need to book early.

He has driven almost everything including many Zeds and will do the basics to very advanced depending on what you want.

It is a very safe area with nothing to hit and you will get constant feedback, not waiting all day whilst the instructor is out with other people as with many others trainers out there.

You could do a day on your own or with up to 3 other people, I would even share a day with you to reduce costs.

    Steve

PS have heard good things and BAD things about Colin's day but have not been on one, he will not offer a discount to people on here as elsewhere so will not do a day under principle.

In the latest EVO page 061 this training outfit http://www.catdrivertraining.co.uk put in a plug directed at Z drivers

From what I hear the CAT guys are pretty good, apparently they did some of the dynamics testing of the Zed and if you are a member of "another forum" :cough:  you can get a discount on their course.

A day with Andy Walsh is money well spent too www.carlimits.com, he even does female only days if you prefer.

Colin and Jo are great, spent some time with them at Millbrook Proving Ground last year. Colin really knows his stuff, not only did he train the drivers for the Nissan 350z fleet arm but he also trains the blues and twos drivers as well.

It's money well spent taking lessons with Colin, something I am keen to put my wife onto as well.

Ahh the whole 'another forum' thing tho, there are some of us who do use both forums you know, just some of us use one more than the other.

Have you got your new car yet? any pics of it? :D

  5. Its just a "Caterham" Roadsport A but with R400 engine.

Does the job, but there are far far quicker drivers than me (and 6 stone lighter) however it always make me smile when driving it.

PS yellow / black very common, and all the black bits are actually Carbon but just extremely dirty as always.

    PSS

Extra points if you can guess the track, big hint in the picture as not many have a occupied house smack bang in the middle of the track.

  6. Going off the idea of the S4, all the write-ups I have seen say the 335 is far better.

Still think S$ looks good and the short supply will keep prices right for a little while but is that enough.

chap at work who had an oil burner A4 and A6 says the 3ltr d are better than the 4.2 FSI.

If the back end of the 335 coupe looked a little better the choice, would be easier choice as tuning seems easy and an extra 0.5 Bar takes it to a 4.5 sec to 62mph car which is quick enough.

  7. Enjoy yourself as its all about having a great time.

Only done brands twice, once GP and once indy once.

Paddock hill dips much more than you think, if you do it with traction on expect some odd behaviour as the Z does not like the imbalance.

Just be very careful on first few laps and you will have on the most adicitive times of your life.

Top get an advantage have a look at some vid's on the net eg

    PS not me....
  8. Test drove a 07 RS4 at the weekend and was not too impressed as thought I would be blown away. Did not "feel" that much quicker than the Z but when you look at the speedo it shows.

Just a shame we cannot tow with a zed as next test drives will be a S5 and BMW 335.

    Anyone know much about A5/S5

  9. Sorry but will all be done to driver ability.

With same driver I would say porker would have it but not by a lot, if it was not the S then the Z would have it.

Been up against a Cayman S and M3 CSL and both had no problems leave me in dust.

(But I cannot really drive for toffee.)
