  1. Had one or two issues with my car so took it back for a re-tune, basically the injectors cannot cope with an APS plenum. AFR is way too high with the injectors at 100% utilisation, so now need new injectors.

What injectors do I need and is there anything else I should do while I'm at it?

  2. how are the Tein Flexes Tim? bargain @ £400 including EDFC! I thought about them but then didn't want to pay that smart@rse ;)

I,ll let you know Val When I get ,Em

Absolute bargain, if they're anything like the super street you'll be more than happy. If your fitting yourself be carefull when taking of the nuts make sure you use inpact sockets they round off so easy, oh and if the bolts dont pull out easily don't hit them with a hammer  it's just that somethings not in line, best advice is use a trolley jack under and gentley move into position.

  3. Finished installing an APS plenum last night, all I can say is it sounds so much sweeter, can't comment on performance as I never had it on NA and at the moment everythings just a blur.

Compare it to pressing the nitrous button on Need for Speed on the PSP

Bad point the stut bar will not fit with the Vortech supercharger so off to my fabricators on Monday.

Question - what's the fitting for at the front of the plenum? I've blocked it up at the moment as I just can't find anything to connect to it

Oh I now have a Kinetix plenum for sale covered approx 200 miles, have attempted to paint the logo silver

  4. I personally didn't notice any difference on idle mine was smooth anyway, the place I notice it most was pulling away from islands it's so much smoother you don't have to rev so hard just to pull away, you can also be lazy and leave in 2/3 without any judder.

  5. Are they simple enough to fit yourself?

Will have to get one I think......

Yes dead simple half hour job...I put one on a couple of nights ago ..still waiting to notice any improvement though...

Mine must have been well earthed from the factory :p:blush:B):headhurt:

That surprises me, who's kit did you fit :?:

    I darent tell you

TBH as long as the cable is high grade copper 4g wire and has been installed correctly it shouldn't matter who's grounding kit it is, you should notice a difference, JDM, US or UK models

  7. No use to me then. Still hunting the US forums to see if I can find any info on wether the UTEC can control external devices. If not, I might have some bad news on this GB...

    Does this help

'If you look for references to spare solenoid, you can see the connections to a slave device and also see how that can be set-up (in the software) to switch on as a function of rpm and boost

It states that a device drawing up to 2 amps can be driven'

  8. I'm pleased with my Rotora it took a while to get sorted quality is first class just haven't had chance to fit them.

Stoptecs from Performance nissan definitely don't fit, despite them trying to tell you otherwise.

I can't for the life of me remember how much but I think $200 is OK IIRC someone in the UK can make then for about £100

    Are they made of gold?????

    no stainless steel :):p

  9. Eventually got round to sorting this and thought it may be interest .

Due to the success of sponsoring pickup truck no.88 last year we decided to go one stage further and sponsor the team.

First launched in 1997, the Pickup series is for purpose built 230bhp racing specials. A tubular spaceframe chassis follows well-proven SHP Motorsport principles and the racers are pushed along by a 2 litre multi-valve twin-cam engine. Weighing in at just 900kg, these dramatic machines place the emphasis firmly on driver ability.

The engines are badged as a PickupSport engine comprising of 4 cylinder 16 valve unit with 86 mm bore 86mm stroke Fitted with modified cylinder head, which in turn is fitted with 33mm inlet valves, 29mm exhaust forged piston and a maximum compression ratio of twelve to one. Steel conrods are used, the rest of the bottom end is stock with the exception of a steel fly wheel. The engine uses a wet sump oil system. Carburation is via twin 48 DCOE with 40mm chokes. The ignition system is a controlled unit by MBE with maximum rev limiter set at 7500, this gives a power output of 229 BHP with 170 ft / lbs of torque.

The series consists of 20 rounds with 26 drivers on the starting grid with Rockingham playing host to the first two rounds on 7th May

    njoy :D

  10. a 2 week delay is annoying but not the end of the world; its more the attitude of the yanks to us over here (i.e look after our own first, second and third) which grates

Agree with Dorian here, I spend big $$$$ with several American companies of which I'm European agents for them, and their priorities are with their compatriots even if schedules are placed with 3 months notice and these are companies from east and west coasts, we just don't have the same kind of buying power.

Personally I think it's worth the wait. How many units are due to be shipped?

Perhaps I should get someone on the case who talks with the right accent :D
