  1. I think the 'ring is used due to the fact that it puts alot of stress on an engine and its internals. Climbing over 1000 feet and havein corners that are on 1:6 gradients all helps. Its not very race circuit like for a racetrack. More like a Welsh A road But what about a fast run, then stuck in traffic for 1/2 hour etc, followed by a fast run or repeated on/offs/town running- testing there has its place as I say but it ain't the whole deal surely in track conditions the stress will be way higher than stop-start testing? Plus if they are legally homologated, I'd say fairly safely that they won't have issues in day to day driving.
  2. fair comment, all I'll say is that with certain items, extra care should be taken when buying second hand. I mean we are talking about something that has the potential to blow up your engine Although in fairness StephenG did buy Bap's second hand Vortech and all is well?
  3. I wish, wedding comes first I'm afraid
  4. about superchargers more like... now step away from the keyboard...
  5. Yup I have seen it there on a couple of occasions, goes like a rocket compared to standard car. Ill post pics when I find em did you have a close up nose at the car? was it a customer's ? were they satisfied with it? etc etc. Info please if you have any
  6. I think my first post above is well-balanced and pretty much represents all the research I have done over the past 18 months. All it doesn't say is that its not a twin-turbo in terms of power come on I've aready acknowledged that a couple of posts up
  7. best topic? Bridgestone's fishtailing experince without a shadow of a doubt welcome back btw, you missed quite a few juicy bits going on, without mentioning the great Sunday we had @ Blidworth at the Z Fest!
  8. Originally yes, but see Andy's post above (unless he has altered it ) but he was just commenting on you plugging yours
  9. yeah but he keeps raving about it. Although I just noticed Dorian's post did mention other options, so fair play to him. I'm just very intrigued by this Swiss offer, that's all
  10. exaclty stop plugging your kit for sale, this ain't the right place, the guy asked for opinions on superchargers, not asked about YOUR for sale one
  11. yeah but yours is a used kit and prone to explonding soon just kidding
  12. ah true it's about a 15 hrs install isn't it
  13. still though... £6500 for an installed homologated item surely is in the ballpark of a Vortech + other essentials needed and installed in the UK? (ok not taking into consideration travel costs) £3-3.5K for a new polished Vortech. + oil pan + Gauges whate else? + Uk install, how much £1,5-2k?
  14. for the 380hp wasn't it €6500??? and €12k for the 450hp package. Quite a big difference... but it should be noted that since you won't do much with their warranty, I'm sure you could work out a deal with them if you can negotiate a bit... no it's £££ not € you were right
  15. it's Dension btw
  16. care to do a DIY post on this? It'd surely be helpful for all those people outside warranty...
  17. sorry had to be done
  18. great numbers too, and performing parts from Maserati
  19. good to know some formal certification is sought for these types of businesses!
  20. I think the Novidem would be a VERY safe bet, they have to homologate them to sell them In Switzerland and Germany and laws are very strict there. Will be bombproof too, since they have to give a warranty in those Countries. Apparently tested @ the Ring too for real life performance. Only drawback would be that installation would have to be in Switzerland at their premises only. So far apart from the 350Z GT-S concept noone I know has it on a UK Z though I like the switch off button too, a lot!
  21. have you modfied the oem one? looks good

    Vortech Kit? - SOLD

    thread tidied AGAIN
  23. thing is... the difference can be made on savings by how "custom friendly" the shipment is. It's a good ~22% on avg to add to the total price! What's it like in Belgium? how much VAT and/or customs do you have to pay?
  24. the fact that you can't understand the difference between editing and deleting and just keep going on and on about something that by your own admission was only a discussion is beyond me. I even posted announcing thread CLEANING the honest answer? no, no EDITING took place yes, THREAD CLEANSING took place. can you understand the difference or do you want to go on forever now trying to shift the balance from EDITING to CHANGING and so on and on and on until someone somehow tells you, yes you are correct, or something similar? here's what you posted on the original thread if you don't remember: please please please stop trying to play with words... 1- you asked WHY and not just merely if that had happened 2- you are wrong. NO earlier posts HAD BEEN EDITED 3- assume "scheming" when asking if an opinion was aletered having sought advice? Dash, please stop trying to play with words. It's crystal clear what you tried to say, and no it wasn't just asking a question. And to answer directly to Dorian, NO, POSTS HAVE NOT CHANGED. So yeah you must be going mad. guys, I'm sorry you feel so upset by the fact that I was right just on the back of a "gut feeling" and you 2 spending 3 pages discussing physics the wrong way round, possibly due to no fault of your own since you didn't know everything involved into what you were discussing. Feel free to believe carbible or whatever else you read on the internet, I know who I believe and where proper knowledge resides. I have already said I will not post any more on the tyre thread since the discussion is imo well and truly closed, and I will be repeating myself here. No need for any further imput from myself.
  25. well it was you digging this thread back crying "censorship" when none happened if not a little tidy-up that had even been anoounced on the thread just before it happened on the day. I have nothing to prove, you believe your websites, I believe my friend race engineer who I've met personally and have a lot of time for. especially technical issues. wrt to the thread itself, we'll agree to disagree, I have no problem with that. As for your question, unfortunately my friend is very busy with his new baby (a real one) and already spent too much time as he states reading through 9 pages of "nonsense". I agree with what he says 100% and leave you to your opinion. But to accuse me to have edited mine or your posts for whatever "scheming" you might or might not have thought was going on is just not acceptable and yes I take it as an offence. this is what you wrote today, with even an angry smilie! no editing took place so stop crying wolf. I do acknowledge your above post though, so no grudge from my part.
