  1. Hi Gang,

    how are we?

I have bought a car on HP before but I have never done one with PCP before. I have heard a few stories where it’s not ideal because they will try and sting you on scratch’s and mileage etc but just wondered if anyone out there has done in recently and if anyone has anyone good stories about it?

it does seem cheaper than HP but then HP seems to have Less worries.

  2. Hi all,

    happy Monday 😁

anyone aware of a garage in the Cardiff or Newport area of South Wales or nearby that can repair a window on my 350z. It’s either the switch or the motor that has gone.

    many thanks.

  3. Thanks guys.

the forum here has been a massive help to my 350z needs.

sorry if this is a full question but I am not hot on rust. Do I need to get it done asap? Aka will it spread quickly? Or is there no major rush?

  4. Hi all,

I hope your having a lovely weekend?

18 months ago I picked up a lovely 05 plate blue 350z roadster and while I would love a 370z for the amount of driving I have done it suits me down to the ground. Recently though I have noticed it’s first problem and I am not hot on rust with cars.

if I wait till MOT and service is due in July is it a bad thing or do I need to get it sorted now and what sort of price am I looking at?

also in South Wales anyone used any decent car garages round here?

  5. Afternoon all. Last year I picked up a blue soft top 350z which had been looked after. It had the window switch issue on the passenger side where it would some times go up and if it doesn’t you had to wait a while and eventually it would go back up (normally this would happen after putting the roof down and then back up when required) I read on forums such as this that it’s an easy fix yourself or not to expensive if you get a garage to do it etc.

over the winter I didn’t start my car as much as I should and the battery went. After a couple of months, I recently replaced the battery and the window switch thing doesn’t  seem to be an issue any more! So I am just wondering if there is any chance the battery replacement ‘re set’ anything or if it’s still going to be an issue probably in the future and I have just been lucky at the moment? 😃

I'm not sure of the answer to your question, but mines had this when I bought it (the previous owner didn't even notice it, so who knows how long it actually had the issue for). I had it fixed aafter around 6ish months of owning the car I think. It's been completely fine since then, so doesn't seem like it did any long term damage.

    Thanks mate 😃

  7. Morning All,

My 350z is currently off the road from Nov to March time. With the recent cold weather the battery has gone flat.

No issue in getting someone out to replace the battery but I was wondering since I don’t plan on using it until the weather gets a bit warmer in 2021, is there any issue in leaving the car stand for 2 or 3 months without a battery and being used?

it is under a water proof cover so no water will get in.

many thanks for your help as always.

  8. Apologies if this is a stupid question but found this oil on Amazon for a good deal. Is this the oil I need for a 05 Nissan 350z please? :)

  9. Hi all. Bought a 350z recently after being putting it off for ages. Love the car and thanks for the tips while I have been lurking around here.

i don’t have a garage but a drive and since it’s a soft top car I want to pick up a car cover. I have only ever bought one in the past for another soft top car I have and due to living in a windy area I had problems with that blowing off.

can anyone recommend a good 350z car cover that won’t have me chasing it down the street and is decent for a soft top?

Speed camera detectors these days are pretty much as waste of money. I have a Valentine One which ive had for as long as I can remember and is highly regarded as one of the best out there. Back in the "olden days" fixed speed cameras were all radar based and the Valentine happily picks them up from about 1/2 mile away and alerts you with virtually no false alerts. However, for the last 15 years or more all the new cameras like the Truvelo ones are all infra-red and so any radar based detector is useless against them.

Thats fixed cameras. Mobile cameras are laser, and units like the Valentine One will detect this and alert you, but with laser, they only have to hit your car with it and they already know your speed before the detector has alerted you. The only way around that is laser jammers which start getting into dodgy illegal territory.

To get around the modern speed cameras, some radar detector companies have branched out, adding functionality where they can store the locations of all fixed cameras and then based upon the units gps location it can alert you in advance. However, this is where free apps like Waze come in.  Waze has all the locations for fixed cameras in it already as well as being an excellent sat nav app. Its driven by users who can upload any mobile speed cameras they see as well as accidents, roadblocks etc. I dont go anywhere without having Waze on in my car, its saved me hours of being stuck in traffic and I cant remember the last time I saw a mobile speed trap it didnt already know about.

There are other systems, such as blu-eye which relies upon a different approach. This detects the police radios they use and alerts you. A few years back this might have been of use, but all emergancy services used the same system, so you would have no idea if the alert was a police speed trap, an ambulance or even a traffic warden. The police have since been switching their radio system to a 4G based system which will render these type of "detectors" useless.

So in summary. Just download Waze an use that for free!

    Thank you that’s really helpful

  11. Hey All.

    how are you?

picking up my first ever 350z this week.

While I would class myself as a good driver, I have been looking for a while at some speed camera Decs like Snooper. I just wondered if anyone had ever used them be if they think they are worth the money?

i was thinking of getting a dash cam but I would have a lot of things working off my car.

  12. Hi All.

i hope you had a nice weekend?

i have seen lots of Zeds with the standard radio ripped out of it and replaced with a radio/sat nav screen.

i have seen a Zed for good value but it doesn’t come with the sat nav. I was wondering how easy it was to use that cubby hole and put a sat nav in there?

I know you won’t have the buttons but some have a remote on eBay?

    cheers

  13. Hi all,

in a month or so I will be looking to get a 350z.

just wondered to ask a few questions.

    A) there’s a few older models. Is there an major issue in signing an older model and anything I need to look out for?

B when buying a second hand Zed is there anything major I should look out for?

    Many thanks
