I some times consider a convertible but worry about the noise in the cabin when the roof is up, is it as bad as they say? If you change the roof can you insulate a little or there isn’t really any room to do so?

Wouldn't say there too noisy at all and with the roof down, mmm nice

  2. Hiya, same here sorry for the late reply been away for a week, yes I have done exactly that removed the rear hook so the hood opens ok and closes ok and is also 99.9 % waterproof will propably live with it now unless I get more motivated when the weather gets a bit more user friendly for more investigating.

    all the best

  3. Hiya

Glad you have sorted your roof now well done, my turn now

Iv'e been studying your post with interest, I am more fortunate in the fact my roof opens and closes but ......... the rearmost latch will not enter the lock mech ( 9 ) am I right in thinking the mech is purely powered by parts ( 10 ) and ( 11 )  if so my mech is jamming at the point of entry so will attempt to remove it to see why it,s not " avin any " .

    Any ideas gratefully recieved.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. My earlier post was with rear section of roof which I now think is called the " 5th Bow " ( the section with the glass )  was struggling to close and clamp it now jam's on the lock mech ie the hook can't seem to enter the mech as if the mech is still in the locked position. I can only describe it as like a bonnet lock which has had the clasp thrown not allowing the hook to enter I have had 35 years plus in the bodywork trade so have a basic knowledge locks and catches I hasten to add all the operations opening and closing are fine just the last bit with the clamp, I have now removed the hook to enable the section to close but now obviously not secured and warning light now on,  any suggestions would be gratefully recieved ...... thanks in advance.

Sun shining put roof down so far so good went for a bit  of a blast came back roof up ..... everything ok until the last operation, the rear section seemed to be fouling on the hook / catch, it goes in but with a struggle could it be the catch needs lubing or adjusting ?

any suggestions would be most welcome.

Been checking a few other posts as its seems possibly due to the cold weather so I will keep it on until we get into double figures with the temp.

Mine is just the half system so I still have standard cats and standard Y pipe. If you change the Cats as well then it will be a lot louder - not what I wanted.

The Cobra non-resonated system is also louder than the resonated.

When deciding what to go for make sure you get the full system spec - something like a simple half system change will sound quite different to that same half system with High Flow Cats.

Thanks for the reply, I have the same set up so I think I will go for the Cobra res like yours.
