At point 4 of pop up hood reset my 370z had one long flash then 7 quick flashes, so this reset wasn't working on my car. What did fix my problem though was checking all the connectors to the sensors (4 in total) located behind the bumper. One of my blue plugs looked like it was in all the way, but wasn't, so pushed it all the way in and bingo, flashing pop up hood light was gone. Didn't it feel good!

After turning ignition to on position the pop up hood light would stay on for 7 seconds, then a pause for about 3 seconds, another flash, then a pause for about 3 seconds and then 7 quick flashes. It would keep repeating this sequence. The problem was fixed by raising car (safely), on inspecting the two blue plugs that connect to the sensors behind the bumper one was not all the way in, ie clicked into position. It looked good but it wasn't. This fixed my pop up hood light headache and gave me great joy when it stopped flashing! I would suggest checking these as well as the two plugs that directly plug into the sensors before doing anything else. Cheers.
