Ah did think that would be the case and was thinking of retro fitting my own sat nav with live updatesa and everything. Thanks for the help guys appreciate it

Hi,
Another question can you install a factory satnav in a car without one fitted from factory? Looking at a 2008 HR and it doesn't have a satnav but like the look of the satnav dash part more
Thanks

Thanks for the help. I think im leaning more towards a HR but if a nice de turned up I wouldn't turn it down 😋

Hi I was supposed to go on the stand with tge lexus is200 Facebook group however I will no longer be on there stand as im buying a 350z soon. I'm hoping I'll be able to join your stand?
Thanks

Hi
I'm still trying to find a 350z and im now stuck on what to go for. I like the thought of a HR new engine higher limiter and higher HP. However Im also thinking a DE might be better (rev up ideally) less power but can get more parts to make it faster.
Whats everyone's input on this? Also what kinda modifications can you do to both?
-
Twin air intakes under the bonnet is the surest way of checking I'd say.
Or dipstick position (front = HR, side = DE)
Kinda what a HR just for that haha 😂 the dip sticks on the de was a pain to get out lol

If there is no bulge, it is 100% not an HR, the engine wouldn't fit under a normal bonnet. Are there any interior photos so you can be sure it's even a RevUp?
+1, on another note I have seen a few for sale over the past months with the power bulge bonnet that's been put onto the de or de revup by previous owners. I have a power bulge bonnet on mine too so be careful not to see it and be confused.

Thanks for the heads up. Yeah i know what the HR look like I'll definitely be sure to check

[Ahh how much is excessive? The enige I swapped into my old civic drunk like half a litre every few days (rings were gone)
My Revup can 'drink' a litre of oil on a long run.
Oh really
-
Has a fair bit of history only worry is thats its from an auction site but im gonna view it soon so we'll see how it goes
-
The irony is the original DE engine before the revup and HR seems a safer bet whether it's oil consumption or gallery gaskets.
Oh really

Okay, yeah it has the newer interior no pictures of the rpm cluster just the mileage.

If it's private, just ask the previous owner.
Trade sale unfortunately

The one I'm looking at has only done 60k
-
It varies. Some have the problem, some have it worse, some don't have it at all. Not too much trouble if you keep an eye on it.
I think anything above 1 litre per 2k miles is excessive.
Okay I guess I'll have have to check the oil level and see then? Guess its a bit like lottery haha

Ah thought that could be the case do the 07 rev ups have any issues I should know of/check out?
Thanks
Just the usual stuff plus excessive oil consumption.

Hi I'm going to view a 2007 car it was registered on 29th of March but has the older style bonnet rather than the HR style with the 'bulge' would this mean that the engine isn't a HR? I assumed all 2007 onwards were HR engines. Unfortunately theres no engine picture so can't tell
Thanks again

When you say exterior, would that include headlights?
I'd be willing to be that it'd be cheaper (and easier) to just buy a facelift car.
Not sure forgot the lights are different I might split the lenses and do a custom job on them, with projectors

Thanks guys I'll be doing interior and exterior but just thought I'd check before buying a older model

Hi,
I'm looking at a few 04 plate car I quite like however I like the interior of the newer 06 onward cars (dash, centre part and possibly the sat nav) is it possible to swap the newer interior into the older models or is there more to it?
Main reasons for a wanting a 04 is insurance and tax aswell as cost of the car it self
Thanks

I did thanks. I've got a lexus is200 sport atm
-
so a car registered between March 1 and March 22 2006 would have an 06 plate and ~£250 tax
Thats good I'm currently paying £295 for my lexus anyways
-
Tax increased for cars registered on or after 23st March 2006
Ah thank you that helps a lot

Hi
New to the forum looking to purchase a 350z soon. I've looked at a few and I see some say there the lower tax bracket but I'm not sure which is which.
Can anyone shed some light om this?
I saw an 06 plate that was described as a lower tax bracket is that right?
Thanks
