    After having the car for just over a year now and experiencing some of the different wear-related noises, i thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread where we can explain various noises and the possible culprits.

    I've found some are easy to find, other's not so.

    The aim of the thread is to essentially provide a list of the common areas to explore when trying to locate a noise.

    Please add to it or edit where you see fit.

     

     

     

    Clicky axle - occurs when coming off or on to the accelerator - a sort-of clunking noise - search for clicky axle fix.

     

    Banana/compression arm - a knocking when going over bumps - bush failure, replace bush or entire arm.

     

    Drop links - a knocking noise when going over bumps - joint failure, replace drop links.

    First corsa - corsica

    Second corsa - sophie (shared name with then gf)

    306 - scarlet (it was red)

    Astra - can never remember

    Tigra - the little monster (then wife had a thing for lady gaga)

    Third corsa - finn (the corsa d was design-inspired from a shark)

    C30 - leroy (guess the colour)

    V40 - viktör (well he was swedish!)

    And now the 350 - lola (dont know why just kinda liked it)

    Standard CD player skipping - easy fix

    Ok, so since buying the zed a good few months ago the cd player has gained the usual skipping issue...gradually getting worse by the day...as much as i would love to simply replace it with an aftermarket unit i'm currently strapped for cash (new clutch needed).

    As a desperate attempt to help this issue i bought a simple cd player cleaner from Maplins (£4.99)...and its actually worked!!

     

    My cars a 56 plate so i assume crap has simply built up over time.

     

    Cleaner was really easy to use and takes a matter of seconds to work its magic - simply place cd in the player as normal and follow the audio instructions. I ran the cleaner a few times to be sure and its been brilliant ever since. I'd suggest it to anyone before paying out for a new unit!

    Spotted a red 350 on outer circle last night and when i waved got an awful scowl! Hahaha! I assume not a member lol. will keep an eye out and wave if i see you - although i'm sure ive seen you before if you have the nismo?? i'l be in the gunmetal roadster with private plate
