  1. You have a HR sat in your lounge???
  2. In response to the yorkshire bit I believe RStuning in Leeds still offer uprev, they used to be a trader on here but don't seem to have posted anything for a while from what I have noticed.
  3. In that case I don't know mate. Somebody else with much more mechanical knowledge than me will be along to suggest something I am sure. I know my clutch chatters reasonably loudly and so switching off the engine I can hear that but it is much better if I turn engine off with clutch depressed but if yours isnt the same I couldn't really comment. Could it be an engine mount or bush or something?
  4. Spotted a 52 plate silver parked on Burley Road in Leeds this morning, must have passed it at about 9:30. Spotted another silver in the stupid A1 average 50 road works that have been on around the Scotch Corner junction for what feels like forever. I was in my grey 350 going the other way in the contraflow lane almost exactly where the Scotch Corner junction at approx 4:30. I did wave over the separating wall at you ni outside lane but not sure if you saw me.
  5. Is this the noisy clutch chatter that is prevalent on the 350s? If you depress the clutch when you switch off the engine is it noticeably quieter?
  6. Woo after after number of attemps I have improved on Monaco and roma. Roma: 1:04.712 Monaco: 1:39.798 Enjoy those euros stu, you got some times to beat when you get back.
  7. I made a tiny improvement on Monaco too but not worth posting yet.
  8. Down to 1:27.833 on trial mountain. Will update OP later as using phone at minute
  9. Really? Any particularly reason, I drove one (admittedly a while back) and thought it was pretty hateful, very lacking in torque. I guess youre looking for soemthing newer than a Zed .......... and I really cant think of much thats in the same ballpark, the Zed is about the best car you can buy for £8K IMO I agree with the sentiment a bit here. I owned one (well the Tsport which is the GT without the body kit) and found the lack of low end torque irritating and quite tiring for driving in motorway traffic which is speeding and slowing with regularity. It was a good laugh to rag the nuts off every now and again but if you don't it's not particularly entertaining. It also isn't massively comfortable for any length of time and I got bored of it a lot quicker than I thought I would. It's the shortest period of time I have owned any car. And while it does have 4 seats, getting into the back is an adventure, not suitable for tall people and barely suitable for short people if you have a long legged driver and front passenger and like any coupe the doors are huge which i found annoying in my not overly spacious garage and parking spaces with cars either side. Having said that there are some positives, the boot is massive for the type of car, I could get an awful lot more in there than my Mondeo saloon, it really did swallow almost anything and was very deceptive. It does handle pretty well for a front wheel drive with quite a lot of grip meaning you can throw it round the bends a bit. The T sport can also be had for a bargain (GT seems to be holding price more) and is very reliable. Not a single thing went wrong with mine during my ownership. I certainly wouldn't pay more than a few grand for one though and would not go anywhere near your budget if I was to buy another. (Again ignoring the GT which incidentally I wouldn't buy over the T sport anyway)
  10. Ekona do you live on here, I had barely pressed post and you had replied. Will do no worries. I will go back out and have a look shortly. The one on the offside (did both at same time) is presenting no issues at all so far.
  11. An update on this, old bearing back on, issue has disappeared. No visible signs of damage to the new bearing which came off the car which makes me think that there is likely something faulty to do with the pick up ring. Thanks for all advice, Alex it wasn't that I was ignoring your suggestion of the sensor as a cheap way to rule it out, just the garage are only chargin me £28 to change the bearing so by the time I had done postage both ways and the extra time involved it was 6 and two 3's as to what was the most cost efficient way to rule something out. I really appreciate the offer. Will now get back onto supplier for a replacement bearing.
  12. Cheers Kieran, bit annoying but we will see what the new bearing comes back off like. The supplier actually have a base in Wakefield so I don't mind going down there to chat to them etc too. Might actually be cheaper than posting it with the weight of the bearing anyway although as Ekona points out if it turns out to be faulty the supplier is liable for the postage costs. Pain in the rear really as I need the car as I travel all over, supposed to be going up to Newcastle this morning but that will be delayed til this afternoon now with switching the bearings back over. Also means I don't have time to wash it before going up there which I loathe. Hate going anywhere with a dirty car. To me it's a first impression when you arrive at a client site (one of the reasons I didn't go temper orange Zed too). Claire think I'm mental especially as in lots of cases there is a high chance noone will actually see it connected to me but it's as important to me as never being late.
  13. What do you do for a living? s**t gold? I thought I was doing alright splashing out on a HR for my 26th but that is mental. Seriously though massive kudos to you, lovely car, I really like the white but interested to see what colour you go for. I'm only a little jealous honest.
  14. Alex that is a very kind offer that I may well take you up on. I will let you know over the next couple of days if that is ok? In your own time mate.. What side are we dealing with here? Nearside I never know which side is "nearside" and which is "offside" Nearside is near the kerb or passenger side in a UK vehicle
  15. Some pics of Kieran in action at the Harewood hill climb. Thoroughly stunning day weather wise. A rarity in Yorkshire I'm sure we can all appreciate. Nothing better than the smell of petrol, rubber and oil in the great Yorkshire country side. Apologies for quality from phone. Have a short Vid of the run through the same section which I am trying to upload to photobucket now.
  16. There are one or two pics of you going through the esses, but they are fairly naff phone pics not helped by the sun rendering the screen almost invisible whilst trying to take them. Will see if I can get them up anyway.
  17. Alex that is a very kind offer that I may well take you up on. I will let you know over the next couple of days if that is ok? In your own time mate.. What side are we dealing with here? Nearside
  18. Nice to meet you and your lass - enjoyed the chat. I was pretty darn chuffed it must be said so it was nice to share I was pleased for the old Zed to get a record. I'll try to hang on to it as long as possible but it will fall pretty soon I reckon. A Porsche/Aston/Beemer or something boosted will nab it. Or maybe another Zed will.... plenty of you about guys. Fingers crossed you keep the M3 behind for a while. My only issue with the day is that grass field played havoc with my undertray, brought some greenery home with me. Nice to meet you too. Do you go up every month? I really enjoyed the day in the weather we had. Could be tempted by a return visit if the weather is similar. Not gettin my nice shiny Zed anywhere near that narrow track though, I couldn't bare the thought of ending up like the MR2
  19. Alex that is a very kind offer that I may well take you up on. I will let you know over the next couple of days if that is ok?
  20. Appreciate the advice. How much are we looking at for a replacement sensor? I think I remember you saying you had some of these in stock. I suspect the likelihood of me putting a load of hassle into this is relatively small but at the same time if the bearing is causing the issue I don't want to just bend over and take it.
  21. Thanks for all your comments Ekona. Will see what comes off the car
  22. But that is an if not a when. And presumable if it's settled in the defending party's favour that works the other way around too?
  23. Hahaha that does not surprise me. It wouldn't be worth me doing if I were to incur court costs since I could just buy a new bearing and be better off. I don't believe that they can't fit a bearing and really can't see how they would have damaged it, fair enough if there was some pressing out and in to do but since we are talking full assembly I just can't see how you would. It was more the fact that the supplier jumped to this before even seeing the bearing. They also told me this was an OEM part (on the phone when I rang about fault, not before the purchase, I assumed I was buying none OEM based on price difference and was happy with that as not had a problem here before). I still don't know if I believe the OEM bit I also guess that you never really know a company's mettle until you have something to complain about. Will see how it goes when the bearing comes off in the morning, I can at least compare it side by side with the old one to see if the pickup ring looks damaged.
  24. Part was delivered May 24th so definitely within last 30 days. I am putting the old bearing back on tomorrow (one was in much better nick than the other, I changed both at the time as a matter of course so in theory there isn't anything particularly bad about this option was just trying to kill both birds with one stone). I will then take the bearing to another mechanic as you suggest before moving further forward. I am kind of hoping at this point it is faulty as I would not want to cause bad blood with the garage as they are pretty good, do things quickly for me, fit me in at short notice and generally give me competitive pricing as well as being hugely convenient within walking distance. I also hate the idea of starting small claims proceedings as a) I am not particularly confrontational in nature and it's all time and hassle (time being the thing i don't have bundles of). Will see what the bearing looks like when it comes off. Of course if the old bearing goes on and I still have the sensor issue then we are talking about a different kettle of fish but will have to wait and see what happens.
  25. Also I was wondering what the chance of this being caused by poor alignment is. I noticed yesterday that the steering wheel doesn't sit dead straight when not turning. Alignment is on my to do list since have done various bits at the front end recently but was waiting until the wheel bearing was sorted first. Any chance this is contributing to the issues?
