  1. What year is your 370? Has it not got Bluetooth? Mine is just set so it connects to my phone as soon as the ignition is switched on without needing to plug into anywhere, just leave my phone in my pocket and plays all the music stored on my phone controlled through the car stereo.

I have however got the connections you describe in the cubby box, I've never needed to plug into them though.

  2. So is there any difference between using BP ultimate or shell V power? I've always used ultimate in my 370z, as the nearest shell garage is a good 30mins drive away whereas BP is just down the road.

If I started filling up at shell, the tank would be half empty by the time I got home again :)

  3. I'd take the valve head off the body first and just check the spindle in the top of the valve body can turn freely from side to side (it should do if its new, but you never know) if its not free enough to turn with your fingers then lube it accordingly. If that's sticking it will be putting strain on the synchron motor when it's trying to turn, hence the heating up.

If that's free and the valve head is getting hot (even with no heat in the pipes) then I would say you're on the right lines with a faulty synchron motor. Although if its new I would be taking it back to where you bought it from and asking for a replacement.

    Good luck.

  4. When you say it's a new valve and motor, have you replaced the actual valve body? The brass part that the water flows through? Or have you just unscrewed the silver box off the top of it and replaced that?

Do you find the heating works when there is also a hot water demand (so the valve would be in mid position) but fails when only has a heating demand (the valve should motor over to heating only position)

If you can give me a bit more detail I should be able to figure out what's wrong for you :)

  5. I bought a noise meter from maplins a few years ago. It's been fairly accurate and reads pretty much the same as the ones MSA scrutineers use at any races we've been to.

I don't remember it being too expensive.

If you're anywhere near North Yorkshire, you're welcome to borrow it.

  6. The pair I have are kumho ecsta, 225 45 18.

They're not far off new tread wise, there's no damage or previous repairs from memory (but I'll double check when I'm there tomorrow)

If they're any good to you let me know? Does £30 each sound fair?

    Cheers

  8. Mine is a 2012 Gt (not Gt edition)

It has everything you list except full leather and I'm not sure if its DAB or not.

Btw the reverse camera is great and definitely worth getting one with it.

Just to give an idea, I paid £18k for mine a year ago (at 3 years old) with 18,000 miles from a private seller.

    Good luck with the search.

  9. Just thought I'd drop by and say hello.

My names Jonathan, I live near Thirsk in North Yorkshire and I've had my 370z for almost a year. It's a 2012 and almost standard at the moment apart from K&N panel filters and a Stillen cat back exhaust. I'm planning later this year on getting an up-rev and toying with the idea if HFC's.

I've also recently bought a skyline 350GT. As most of you probably know uses a lot of the same parts as the 350z (just a different body and has back seats)

I wasn't looking for one, just had it offered to me a a price that would have been mad to refuse.

So I've found a use for it and I'm in the process of turning it into a track car.

So I thought it was time to sign up to the forum then I can pester people on here for advice.
