  1. Nissan 350z Shock Absorbers / Dampers - Full Set - Standard Fit / OEM. Removed from a 2005 Nissan 350z that had done just 49k. Condition is used but perfectly functional / all in working order. They have had a wire brush & a coat of hammerite. Nissan part numbers: 7A14695-A (rears) 1A10209-B (n/s front) 1A10209-A (o/s front) £50 (+£20 for UK mainland delivery). Please drop me a PM or text 07974231332. Cheers, Matt
  2. Awesome stuff, can you drop me a pm re price etc :-) Cheers, Matt
  3. Having got under my car today, I've confirmed that the vacuum pipe that is connected to / part of the filler neck has rusted out (and leaks when the petrol tank is full). I've attached a pic (from the net) showing the section that has rusted out. Seems weird as there is no rust on any other visible part of the pipe. Has anyone had similar issues? Looks like it will be a pain to replace :-( My local Nissan parts department have also told me that the part is currently unavailable in the UK (they are going to come back to me next week to advise when they will be available). Any advice gratefully received!
  4. Finally got round to getting this issue sorted. I've been under the car and couldn't find anything obvious amiss re front suspension. My plan of attack was going to be.........fit a new pair pair of banana arms and be done with it. However, I thought I would just get my local mechanic to have a butchers up on the ramp. He located a very small amount of play in the n/s inner tie rod (steering rack end jobbie). I wasn't convinced based on what I have read about tricky banana arms causing 'hard to diagnose' knocks, but hey presto, it was the inner tie rod banging away. I got the garage to replace it (£11 part) and can now enjoy my Z again. Hope this helps someone who is trying to track down an annoying knock :-)
  5. .....am I correct in thinking that changing the banana arm for a new item will mean I've covered both possibilities (ie: replaced both the bushes and the ball joint)?
  6. Following with interest, I seem to have the exact same knocking issue that has cropped up over the last few days. Seem to be coming from the front offside and seems to reduce a little when braking while maintaining speed, but does not disappear completely. I'm thinking time for a new pair of control arms / banana bars (ARB drop links have been changed recently), I assume this is the part I require: https://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info?id=12895&cat=87⊂=120&sec=963&var=38&dc=0&gen=&searchKey=&searchPart= Cheers in advance!
  7. I have the exact same issue at the moment. I jacked the car up and noticed some play in the FNS bearing, so fitted a replacement hub kit - guess what, the noise is still notable (although perhaps not quite as loud). No other notable play in any of the other bearings, but I reckon one them must also be on the way out - frustrating!
  8. Cheers - will have a gander í ½í±í ¼í¿¼
  9. Folks, My Bose head unit needs replacing! I want to retain the steering wheel controls / sub, what are the popular options? Cheers in advance
  10. Thanks for all the info folks - I'll have a ponder what to do. The issue only occurs when playing CDs, radio fine. Rob, can you let me know what head unit you installed and if it was compatible with the sub & steering wheel controls? Chees
  11. Just recently my passenger door speaker has starter cutting in and out, but only when I'm playing CDs (fine when listening to the radio). I was hoping that the issue would be a loose connection but it would appear not (just read the 'how-to' guide on here) - any pointers or am I defo looking at stripping down the head unit? Cheers in advance
  12. Mine has just ticked over 120k. I've only had the car a couple of months, but it has so far not missed a beat in the 1,500 or so miles I have done. I was looking for a lower mileage example but I was lured in as the car was one owner from new, had full Nissan history from the dealer that originally supplied it and was in the spec I wanted :-) Also still on the original clutch (the previous owner was in his 70s when I bought the car off him, haha).
  13. Thanks buddy, much appreciated! I'm just going to check out how it will look with the standard gaiter........I'll let you know asap if I want it
  14. You want to see his knob before committing? That's a bit forward... Very good, haha!
  15. Cheers for coming back to me - have you got a picture of the knob fitted in a 350z? Just want to see how it looks before I commit! Cheers, Matt
  16. Hi buddy - have you still go this for sale?
  17. Cold viscosity will make very little difference in our climate, so 5w or 10w will be fine, 40 will be slightly more viscous than 30 at normal running temp, so is better suited to a high mileage or hard used engine. Cheers
  18. Would this 5w40 tick the box as a good option? http://www.ebay.co.u...-sAAOxy5jxSakFs Would I be correct in thinking the 5w (as opposed to 10w) will give better start up protection as the oil will be thinner, but that the 40 (as opposed to 30) will mean that the oil stays slightly thicker when hot (keeping oil pressure more stable / allowing for the higher mileage engine)? Sorry for all the questions
  19. Thanks for the replies Will go for a 5w30 as that's what it should be running. You would have thought that Nissan main dealers would use the spec of oil that Nissan stipulates in the owners manual (or would you, haha)?! Thanks again......lets get this baby serviced
  20. Folks, I'm just about to carry out the first service of my 350z ('04 DE) in my ownership. I read that the recommended oil is a 5w -30, however, it appears that my car (which is a one previous owner car with full Nissan service history) has been run on 10w -40 (see sticker stuck in handbook). Just wondering if there is any reason for this? For the first few years of its life the car was doing around 20k miles per year, and although this reduced later in its life, it has done more miles than most (just about to tick onto 120k miles). Should I stick with the 10w -40 or go with 5w -30 (Fuchs Titan or similar)? Thanks in advance
  21. Looks like a great 350z - I'd have been all over it if it had popped up a few weeks ago (I've now bought a 2004 GT in the same colour). Good luck will the sale (not that you'll need it)
