  1. Hey guys, not sure where to post this as I'm not technically "selling"... I have a full set of OEM suspension springs from a 2004 Track Edition 350z Coupe that I do not need and can't be bothered to sell. Anyone looking to restore a car to original spec, get in touch and take them off my hands free of charge! I'll take collections from London E5. I'm just attaching one photo because there really isn't much to show. They're just standard springs in perfectly good condition. R.
  2. Hey guys, I'm currently running Linea Corse LC818 19x11" wrapped in 295/35 r19 Pirelli Sottozero in the rear of my Z. It's lowered on Tein S-Tech springs (-14mm drop) with rolled arches. There's about 15mm of clearance at normal height and when compressed the camber allows the tyres to fit *perfectly* inside the arches. Very happy with these, but it's time to switch to summer tyres. Does anyone else have a similar setup? I am surprised to have had very little luck finding anyone. Seems very rare to have the 35% sidewall on a 19" wheel. Any experience welcome, better still with some photos! Thanks, R.
  3. OK, let me put it another way: Can anyone recommend the best rim-protecting tyres? I think I've worked out the reason why they appear to have a bulge - there is no lip that covers the edge of the rims.
  4. I'm running some Pirelli W240 Sottozero Serie II 295/35 R19 in the rear at the moment. With Tein S-Tech springs they fit the wheel arches brilliantly and are hugely reliable in the cold and wet, but I'm not too keen on the bulging sidewall. Could forum members recommend some tyres with a straighter side wall? I'd like to go 295/35/19 in the rear (which can be harder to come by) and 265/35/19 front. Rim spec, if interested: Rear 11x19 / Front 9.5x19.
  5. Hey all, I bought my Z with a K&N air intake, but the heat leak is terrible. Idling at hot is a total mess! I'd like to revert back to the original air intake housing. Anybody got this that they would like to sell? Thanks, R.
  6. I recently upgraded my rears from 275/35 R19 to 295/35 R19 for a fatter, more staggered look and now I have no use for my older tyres. I've done about 1,500 miles in them. Owned them for about three months. Still in great condition with 6-7mm of tread. £80 for the pair. Pick up from London, E5. 7. Did this image come through? I'll try and get one from straight back as soon as somebody doesn't park right next to my bumper!
  8. This is what inspired me in the first place. I was going to go for a 12 pipe setup, but could only afford 4! That would have lead to ban I feel. Just to be absolutely clear, I was joking...

  10. Hard to tell as I am only going on feeling... but flooring it on to a motorway feels like a 5-10% increase. I'll do a Terraclean and ECU remap next month and see if I can squeeze another 5% out, then hit the Dyno
  11. Good question. I probably should have done that!

    Quad Pipes!

Thought I'd share my latest tweak to my 350z - a custom, stainless cat-back system with quad exits. Unlike so many quad exit mods, I've tried to keep this one looking subtle and smart. Had to do a small bumper cut to fit the new pipes in, but all looks tidy. Starting from the cats, I've added a custom Y-pipe, removed the middle resonator and replaced the rear muffler with something smaller. I've noticed a massive increase in torque at high RPMs, and the sound is just marvellous. Thanks to styledynamics.co.uk for help building the thing. Would welcome your opinions!
  13. Visually your car might look a bit odd though. True dat. Well, if I'm 5% out at the moment and everything is irie, then I'll just whack 255/35 on the front and be done with it. Thanks all for opening my eyes to tyre height.
  14. I guess the best option would be 245/40/19 up at the front. That'll take me down to 10mm (1.47%) difference.
  15. This all being said, my TC doesn't seem to mind at all. I haven't pushed her yet, though. We'll have to see tomorrow.
  16. You raise an interesting point mate. I hadn't thought of this... So a quick bit of research shows the OEM spec for the Track Edition Z (Front: 225/45/18 / Rear: 245/45/18) has an 18mm (2.73%) difference in diameter. My current spec (Front: 245/35/19 / Rear: 295/35/19) has a 35mm (5.35%) difference in diameter. Whoops! I'd better make some adjustments! Looks like fattening up the fronts won't come that close to matching either... if I go wider to 255 it'll still be 28mm (4.24%) out
  17. Afternoon peeps, I know there is much more to it than piping, but I am getting a custom cat-back system built this weekend and I want my Z to sound like the Jaguar F-Type V6: Any engine acoustic experts out there willing to lend some advice?
  18. Here's a side view of the 295s. Maybe this will sway the tyre haters?
  19. Thanks - have you got any pictures of your slash tips?
  20. Actually I've found the opposite. With 295s it's very difficult to go sideways! Maybe I should fit some bicycle wheels to the back?
  21. Evening folks, So it's payday again, and this month is bonus month! What better way to spend it all than on Z bitz? I've wrapped my rear Linea Corse LC818s in Pirelli 295/35s, with some great results: On Saturday the car's going to Style Dynamics for a custom quad exit exhaust. Something like this... Thoughts?
  22. Thanks No rubbing before, but that's because I was on stock rims. I have been told that the setup doesn't require rolling, but thought I'd do it anyway in a "while you're down there" style cost saving exercise. Just keeps the options open for later...
  23. Hello mate, welcome! I've just swapped wheels and have some spare Track Edition 18's looking for a new home... interested?
  24. Hello! I've been browsing this forum for months, but today I thought I'd sign up, say hello and start sharing the story of my 2004 Track Edition 350z. I'm also going to try and save you prospective modders a lot of time by sharing the research I have done to get to where I am today. I've always been a huge Z fan, but living in London doesn't really require a car, so it didn't make sense to buy one. However, a couple of months ago I realised that life is too short for practicality, so I marched to the bank, borrowed some money and splashed out. There really is no feeling quite like being financially reckless Like an excited teenager I bought the first car I saw from a guy in Ealing. I got a fantastic price as the car had no service history and was Cat D. A big risk, yes, but I went for it anyway and was lucky - I had the car checked out by a garage and was told the car was in great condition. Anyway, first things first, here's what's changed... From this: To this: Research: 1. Ground Clearance: Being a city dweller, speed bumps are an issue, hence the fairly high ride height. Here's why: The 350z stock ground clearance is 120mm. UK regulations state that no speed hump should be higher than 100mm, but the recommended height is 75mm. With new rims and lower springs, the new ride height is 100.2mm, so I can just scrape over the bigger ones! 2. Wheel width: Despite countless hours spent examining photos, I could not be sure whether the super wide 11" LC818 rear rims would stick out. I went for them anyway and it turns out they are perfectly flush; the edge of the rim comes right to the edge of the fender. Win! Tech Spec: Wheels: Linea Corse LC818 Front: 19 x 9.5, +20mm Rear: 19 x 11, +25mm (rolled arches) Tyres: Nexen Front: 245/35/19 Rear: 275/35/19 Suspension: Front: Tein S Tech Springs, -17mm Rear: Tein S Tech Spring, -14mm Credit to: Andy Gilliand at PerformanceAlloys.com for his customer service, a great wheel deal and the free lock nuts. Marco Vasconcelos at FullyLoadedCars.com for the bodywork and fitment of the wheels and suspension. What's next? JWT Flywheel and Clutch (Car is on 58,000 miles so the old one will be done soon) Borla True Dual exhaust (K&N cold air intake already fitted) ICE, ICE, baby! Any recommendations for these next plans, welcomed.
