  1. So I have my first MOT outing today, which hopefully everything checks out okay.

But its typical stuff goes round just before, luckily it was nothing major! side repeater lense had fallen off, so quick trip to amazon got me sorted and ordered some nice cheap 'smoked' ones

I bought trim tools the other year for another car and they are fantastic for jobs like this, it took me longer to write this post than change it.

On another note I am rather worried about my decat pipes failing me :headhurt:but we shall see, wish me luck!

  2. So friday afternoon I got a call to say my wheels were ready

Had really good service, Acid dipped, powder coated, new tyres on and balanced and old tyres disposed off for £200

with a two day turn around there really wasn't anything to complain about !

Apart from putting them back on in the rain  I did manage to get her clean yesterday it may not look much different to most but makes the car look newer in real life!

So the Yokohama AD08r's once all the top layer had been stripped off the tyres felt awesome compared to what I have before! you can tell they have harder sidewalls which feels good turning in  made me feel alot safer driving, not sure the misses did in the passenger seat ;)

My set from torqen came set up for right hand drive and was plug and play (not sure all sets come rhd though) obviously had to unscrew the ballasts from my stock lights and screw them onto these.

For indicator problem were for me my hazards came on each time I indicated ,on drivers side headlight there is a blue wire you snip to fix this problem.

Order some new O rings from torqen and they shouldn't leak and place some silica gel packs inside for safety.

For bulbs I used my old led set W5W sidelight

    D2S bulbs for main beam

For indicator bulbs found it difficult to find a set that fitted perfectly but these are the correct fitment https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-3157A-180-CAR-BULBS-AMBER-WEDGE-BRAKE-TAIL-FOG-REVERSE-INDICATOR-12V-27-7W/111245333422?hash=item19e6bd13ae:g:TdwAAOxyaTxTQJWB

Love the lights really to be honest much needed mod

    great thanks

  4. So on a very cold and rainy Sunday night, I got my car up on axle stands last night.

This is so i can have the wheels put in an acid bath and repainted then have my new tyres put on.

I'll attach some photos of the wheel condition and as you can see they aren't curbed but there is corrosion starting on the barrels, and when changing tyre's its just nice to do this at the same time.

Also does anyone run tyre lettering ? (like in the photo) tempted to order some but not sure if my car is aggressive enough due to it looking pretty much standard for now....

Just a lazy driveway photo, haven't had it for too long so not started doing much yet but hopefully more to come this year!

I'm Coningsby way but get in to Lincoln quite a bit! IMG-20171029-WA0004.thumb.jpg.67a5443db7fda9e39915a8107bb1449c.jpg

@Silkygun was it you I saw on saturday morning, I was driving down the A46 towards lincoln!

  6. Quite embarrassingly I have not only odd tyres on the zed but budgets too!

I didn't put them on its how it came, with goodyear F1's on the front and some jingyung rears which I have found are all absolutely terrible!

one thing they were good for was learning how to drive a rwd car

So I took advantage of a 20% sale day on ebay and bought some Yokohama AD08R's which I've researched a lot and think will improve the handling a lot!

i saved nearly 200 quid which is a bonus too!

Before i put them on I'm going to get my wheels refurbished, none are curbed however the paint could do with a refresh and hey why not have nice new looking wheels !

Looking great mate  My second favourite colour ;)

  8. Right, so we have;

    • hks filter
    • manifold back exhaust system
    • plenum spacer
    • stage one clutch
    • light weight flywheel

So i thought it would be time for a Remap, so had a trip down south to horsham developments and they worked their magic and got me from 276 to 298, shame it didn't quite make 300 nut hey that N/A cars i suppose.

It felt great on the way home power seemed to kick in faster, for now that's all I'm going to do power wise, these cars are fast enough for tracking. So it's time to focus on weight and handling...

On a side not replaced the terrible head unit of something that looks OEM as possible, as i can't stand aftermarket head units. Went for a fairly simple sony one from halfrauds. doesnt look it in the image but the colour matches the OEM back lighting on the other dials which is good

Treated myself to a nice weighted gear shifter and it's ace i actually cant believe what a difference it made, I went for blox racing 490 in black. only problem is its cold

Ok so after what seems like endless hunting finally settled on a set of BC BR Coliovers from Chris @Tarmac@TarmacSportz along with a couple of other bits and pieces to keep everything nice & new. Got to get a price for fitting and it will likely be either Tuned UK or Demon Tweeks depending on price (lucky I'm not far from either of them)! :teeth:

So once they are on, i'll also look at the bumper tuck & wiper delete, then report bac to y'all

    2g.jpg

good choice on coilovers, have you thought about fitting them yourself?

may sound daft but its really not difficult on 350z's, plus theres plenty of youtube videos that might give you the help you need.

plus it saves money for more aftermarket bits!

  10. So the car came with a japspeed back box and I rather liked it but I felt with decats it would sound great so that was next on the agenda!

I opted for the japspeed decats pipes and matching Y pipes so it was a full manifold back system.

Not sure this gave me any power but i know it saved me some weight!

I waited for a nice sunny day and set too on the driveway ( burnt my back on the tarmac it was that hot!)

while doing this I had a motordyne plenum spacer to try which I order from torqen, pretty self explanatory and comes with great instructions.

pretty simple jobs, and again as a home diy enthusiast it was nice to do something else for myself.

I know some people don't like cheaper brands but I don't have a massive budget so i work with what I can get and IMO it turned out great. (hopefully the videos play )

included a picture of a couple of weeks later when I took exhaust of, very pretty heat affected areas

Great work so far. That roof liner looks a great mod. I fancy doing the rising sun on mine, how easy is it to get out and back in?

pretty easy you just have to be careful not to bend it to much,

plastics out the boot, A + B pillars need popping off then you can take out the sun visors and it should come out then - don't forget to disconnect the interior light

trim tools always help and only cost a few quid

Awesome work, and yeah i love the black roofliner too.

Yeah zeditus has no known cure, and just when you think 'yeah awesome', you find something else to do. How far into Lincoln are you? There are a couple of Notts people I met up with last year and organised a meet just outside derby some of the West Midlands people joined us on.

    cheers pal,

I'm from a little village about 30 mins north of lincoln pal

always up for car meets

  13. So I decided I wanted to upgrade the clutch and while there might as well upgrade the fly wheel too.

Turns out it was good timing as the clutch had seen better days!

This was the first job I had to take to  garage as I didn't  fancy attempting it on a pit! luckily for me I have a good friend with a garage and we made light work of changing it over,

I went with a stage one  action clutch and competition clutch lightweight fly, felt great from the get go.

could anyone tell me the serial number of the 2004 350 gearboxz? I believe the 06+ are the CD09?
