  1. For sale is my Nissan 350Z UK GT spec with just 27k miles. The car is in beautiful condition and comes with 2 keys a spare, lots of history and receipts.

    Extras include:

    • Stoptech brake discs and pads fitted in 2016
    • Goodridge braided lines (2016)
    • Whiteline drop links (2016)
    • Invidia exhaust, sports cats and JWT filter (no problems at MOT time)
    • The car was remapped for the exhaust changes and given a major service including plugs and battery  in 2015 when I purchased the car. It has of course been serviced annually since then.
    • Boot divider and stubby aerial. I have the stock aerial too.

MOT until September. The mileage may increase slightly as the car is still in use until my new one arrives.

The private plate is not included in the sale. The car is now back on a 53 plate. Viewings welcomed - the car is in County Durham.

    Price is £7995 OVNO.

    Thanks, Michael.

  2. I wouldn't recommend an Impreza to anyone to be honest. I bought mine after selling my first Zed back in 2006. I needed four doors and like fast cars/bikes and driving. It's never about going from A to B for me.

As I said it was ridiculously fast and handled exceptionally but it wasn't fun to drive in my opinion. It just seemed to drive itself... was like driving in an xbox game in that you didn't really feel involved. Depends what you like I guess. I'd rather go slower now and enjoy the drive/ride more and be involved with the process.

Sorry, I would recommend it to someone... traffic light racers. You'd love it.

  3. I used to have a hawkeye STi and it would have destroyed my zed up to 70. After that it felt like it was going to rattle itself to bits but could still quickly and easily make 140+. Is there such thing as a stock Impreza? I put an exhaust on, remapped and was running 400bhp.

Basically they are faster point to point and much easier to drive very quickly in the twisties. I can't see many zeds getting near them unless in three figures in a straight line. I wouldn't bother mate.

  4. Sold my last two cars via Autotrader and bought my last car via PistonHeads. Nobody gets a test drive without proof of fully comp insurance and balance in full at hand, which usually means you taking them out for a drive and directing them to a dealer if they want to try themselves.

eBay is just full of complete time wasters wanting cars for nothing.

For a heavily modified car, I'd lean towards PistonHeads personally.

  5. I recently had some new brake discs and pads fitted, as part of the kit I got some brake hoses. I got a local mechanic to fit the parts. He's no specialist, but for fitting parts and basic servicing has always proved good in the past. I neither have the time, nor the inclination, to do any work myself and have little technical knowledge... hence the question...

He advised me that the brake hoses supplied did not fit. So, everything went on except the hoses. Looking at the OEM parts and those supplied they do look very different, but I wanted a second opinion before returning the parts to the trader on here and potentially wasting their time. I might add they have been great.

Car is a 2003 UK 350Z with Rays and Brembos. The photos I was shown of those on the car look like this with a box type fitting: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/03-04-05-06-NISSAN-350Z-BASE-RF-WHEEL-BRAKE-LINE-HOSE-OEM-/390640244181?hash=item5af3f915d5:g:cJAAAOxyF81SAlt9

    Those supplied are here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9TzG4SWiCpIQ21SZ3YzWEtqTlk/view?usp=sharing

Should they fit? Do I need to return them or take them to another garage?

Don't laugh... I know I know nothing about how cars work

  6. Like triggers broom, if you change the engine and replace the body work it will run forever. Well maintained, or not, things wear out. Buy high mileage, expect big bills... but then the car itself should be cheaper.

I'd be amazed if many engines get past 150k miles without a major rebuild.

  7. Hi All,

Done a bit of reading on this and there seems to be a lot of choice. Too much, so would like some advice from those who have already replaced these parts. I need:

    • Brake disks all around
    • Brake pads all around
    • Drop links need replacing

Car is a 2003 350z. Still pretty much original as only done 17k miles. Is there anything else that might be wise to sort when I get this work done?

I use the car as a daily driver now and I do a bit of summer spirited driving on our beautiful B roads. It isn't a track car. I'm not a millionaire but happy to spend money on the best parts. What do people recommend?

    Thanks!
