  1. Well I bought one off ebay in the end - bit risky but funds are a little tight at the moment. Fingers crossed it works ok! Oh yeah, its an LSD also
  2. Apologies for the massive delay in replying, I've been moving house! So I still need to sort my diff out. This question is pretty much what I want to ask. If I have a standard diff can I simply buy a vlsd and fit that without any other changes? (I know nothing about diffs)
  3. No and No. Thanks for all your replies! Ok my problem started as a strange noise when braking, like it was catching but it was rather loud. Initially I thought it was a warped disc, so I replaced that... it didn't fix it. I took it to a garage where I know the staff and they used a laser thing (can't remember what it's called) and it showed movement in the hub so we/they assumed a bent/warped hub. I bought one off ebay and waited for it to arrive. In the mean time I started getting another noise not when braking from the opposite side. This confused me again! So today they fitted a new (2nd hand) hub to it, only for the issue to still be there except it has moved sides so now on passenger side. After a bit more investigating the found the culprit was the diff. Apparently there should be some movement at either side of something (sorry not sure what) and it was only happening on one side. They spoke to some diff specialists about it and apparently its not worth getting it fixed, better to just buy a used (or new if feeling flush) one and fit that. Which brings me to here and my questions So is there anyway of searching via my reg or anything to determine what sort of diff I have by any chance? Thanks again for your knowledge fellow zedders! P.S my zed seems quite basic specced from what I've read - cloth seats, no nav, not bose, standard wheels so perhaps it is just an open diff?
  4. Afternoon all So the quest to fix my car continues, and I think my mechanics have finally figured out what the issue is (after already replacing a disc and hub...). They are now pretty certain it is my diff. So I have a couple of questions for you knowledgeable folk: Is the diff on 350z's the same on all models? Mine is a JDM fairlady one for reference. Do all models have LSDs? Thanks
  5. As above, is anyone breaking a 350 and has one? Or for some reason has one kicking around? Thanks in advance!
  6. There are 2 pumps fastened to the underside of the fluid reservoir - one for rear one for front. On mine they are different (though that may be because its a JDM version, I'm not sure!). Cheap and easy to replace though
  7. ....removing the headlight ballast.....will that affect handling..and would Heavy ballast make much difference to an, err, 'light ballast? Err...? Thanks. So you leave the original ballast in and fit a new one as well?! Thank you. That can be this weekends job then!
  8. Hey folks So I tried to solve the issue of my headlight not working on 1 side (due to missing wheel arch liner) so I bought a new liner and a bulb/ballast set. I managed to get the bulb out very easy, that looked burnt out so I replaced that. Still not working. So I can now only assume it is the ballast. How do I go about removing the ballast? It looks very tucked away in terms of access to screws. Please tell me I don't have to take the bumper off and go at it that way? Thanks in advance Sam
  9. Judging by the pictures, it has brembo brakes, and Xenon lights - but not Bose.
  10. Good shout - thanks!
  11. Yeah I think the previous owner hit something, lots of signs pointing to that it seems Crikey £90 for one ballast, ah the joys of xenon lights. Thanks for the link! If anyone has any from breaking a car etc that would be awesome for a laugh get the price for one from nissan then £90 seems cheap I dread to think what astronomical amount the plucked out of thin air for it.

  13. Due to the delightful previous owners removing the wheel arch liner, my xenon lights have stopped working (just one side thankfully). I am assuming it is the light ballast as that is pretty common from what I gather...so does anyone have one available by any chance? Many thanks!
  14. Do you by any change have a battery cover? Not sure if that is a part you have removed or not... Also after a cloth drivers side seat and a wheel arch liner for passenger side. If you have any of the above please let me know!
  15. Thanks, I'll send him a message now
