  1. I do like a car that at a stands out from the crowd. I guess the FRS would achieve that more than the Golf.

I certainly think the Focus stands out more than the golf, i also think itll be much more fun to drive. the golf is a very fast capable car, but i get the feeling when drivign my mates it was made by lots of smart people with no sense of humour, where as i think the RS will just be a hoot to drive even without the "drift" mode.

  2. i Loved my mk1, was so underestimated. keep looking at another, but would have to pay double now what i paid for one as the prices are on the up!

  3. Yep, mate has a golf R, driven it plenty. would love one as a daily, plenty fast enough and the grip is unreal! handles brilliantly, however, ive pick the FRS (having owned both the mk1 and mk2 FRS) i think itll be much more exciting to drive even though it may not be as quick. Im not particually keen on the looks of the mk3 FRS, but im also very tempted by one as i think itll be amazing to drive.

  4. . get it down to 1100/1200kg. Is this realistic or not possible?

Afraid unrealistic and not possible my friend. :)

Shame, think it would be an animal around that weight lol

It could be an animal at 1600 kg but you would require a second mortgage.

haha to be fair it is already a bit of an animal, but i want something that scares me each time i drive it lol

  5. Yeah i have a 205 gti for track, but as said enjoy driving the 350z so was gonna look at using that too lol

Drivign a stripped out car doesnt bother me at all, loved it with my old evo lol just a wheel seat and cage lol i just didnt want it to be a pointless exercise, i.e. im sure i read somewhere they weigh aroudn 1600kg? now i wouldnt mind throwing some money at it if you can make a noticeable difference i.e. get it down to 1100/1200kg. Is this realistic or not possible?

  6. Done a search but cant find anything....

where does the weight of the car come from? is it mainly in the body work or the engine? Can much weight be lost?

reason i ask is i love driving mine and would like to track it, but with the weight i know it will be hard on breaks and tyres etc, obviously first step would be to take out the interior and put in some light seats, but where would be next? would a fibreglass rear hatch save a decent amount of weight or am i just clutching at straws and even replacing all the panels going to be left with a big heavy car due to the chassis/engine?

  7. I always used to use admiral as theyre cheapest for me, but on the last few cars ive had as they're so heavily modified id rather have them covered like for like just incase the worst should happen.

  8. i can confirm you can go sideways in a focus RS lol can have plenty of fun with lift off over steer. No its not drifting, but you can still prat about and have fun on track.

I think FWD is easiest/safest to have fun in because you dont have to be as careful if that makes sense? you can drive like an idiot in FWD and be ok.

RWD is more rewarding to drive if you get it right though.

and AWD is awesome till you run out of grip then its a case of hoping for the best lol
