  1. I cannot recommend NAS drives enough for backups; you can get huge amounts of storage space for sub £100, I have 3 2TB NAS drives on my private network, one for media streaming, one for data storage and one purely for backups; the whole setup cost me about £300 a couple of years ago but I cannot fault them!

I admit I went slightly overdrive with 3 separate NAS's but I work with implementing a lot of redundancy for commercial enterprises and it's something I've got so used to doing that it's almost second nature.

Oh, ALWAYS keep your install disks for Windows/Mac OS because if something goes drastically wrong, they are the easiest way to fix the problem.

PM me for any help IT related, I'm more than happy to help 😊

I'm slightly confuzzled. You say you went overboard with 3 NAS "drives" however you've listed 3 different purposes for each one albeit one of those is a backup device. Your wording seems to suggest a single 2tb spindle per use.

I may be being nitpicky with your wording but I'd like to see RAID 1 and not just a single spindle for your backup and then at least a second asynchronous off premise copy...... then maybe you were getting close to being overboard :)

BTW I'm far too flippant with my own data at times but we won't get into that

Advice for any of you who do back up your data... Try recovering once in a while, you can become far too complacent with your backups ;)

Good luck OP I can't give advice for memory card recovery as I don't really have any experience there.

You're right, my wording isn't great; I have 3 separate NAS 'boxes', each with two 2TB hard drives in RAID 1, so there's only 2TB of usable storage per box.

In total I have six 2TB hard drives in 3 separate enclosures.

    Hope that clears it up?

The £6k left over would be spent on tools for the man cave and mods for my Zed (including a white wrap... See a theme here anyone...?)

£45k - Nissan GTR - using current value (not what I have spent :))

£8k - MX5 - currently engine is standard, but suspension, wheels, brakes and interior have all been modded for the track, would like a supercharge in the future (included)

£25k - Datsun 240z.... just waiting for the restore to finish :D cant wait.... though, this may be changed for Hakosuka at some point in the future.

    £12k - Landrover disco 3

Woohoo..... still have £10k to spend.........

  4. I'm not sure what you're actually asking here; those headlights are direct replacements, take the old lights out and put the new ones in, no taking apart, no upgrading...

If you were asking about getting angel eyes on your OEM lights however, you would need to purchase halo LEDs, take apart your current lights, fit the halos and then reassemble and (importantly!) reseal your headlights

  5. I've got an 04 UK spec GT; if I do get them I will probably take them to a garage to get them properly fitted and adjusted; if the standard ones are that expensive new how much do they go for second hand?!

  6. So for clarification, replacing the OEM HID's with the sellers preinstalled option would solve the incompatibility, however they would not be legal as the auto levelling won't work...? Or does the preinstalled option have the 8 pin connector with the auto levelling? If no one can answer I shall ask the seller and post up responses for others :)

  8. Are the DRL's and Halos wired to the sidelights or are they always on? Thinking about getting a set as they look fantastic; if anyone can confirm whether or not the headlight washers will work I would be very grateful, IIRC the JDM's don't have headlight washers because they don't have HID's and so don't need them so it may just be a case of some funky wiring work around; anyone got these headlights on their UKDM spec with HID's?

  10. ArmA 3 is the @*!#

Ive got Arma 2. Incredible how badly optimised the game is. Only supports 2gb ram.

Get Arma 3 man, it's so worth it; I've spent hours on end playing wasteland with a few mates and just going round in a squad and destroying people; it takes a long time to get kitted out so when you get killed you get uber mad

Im not sure my pc would be up to it. I had a state of the art pc when arma 2 came out and it struggled running that!!

    What're your specs mate?

    Nothing mega.

    1st gen i7 @ 4ghz

    16gb ram

    2gb gfx. forget which,

You could easily play it! Albeit maybe not on the highest settings, your biggest bottleneck is your GFX card; next time you plan on doing an upgrade give me a shout, I do custom builds for friends and colleagues so could help you out picking parts of you need it
