  3. I'll defo look into this blue purple idea. My mate had a midnight purple r33 and I have always had a huge love for it, but annoyed photos always seemed to turn out black?! Done a test card yesterday Pics really don't do it justice tbh, ignore the bits of @*!# on it etc it got dropped on workshop floor >_> Thought is tho will it not just look like solar orange, never seen one in person but pics seen similar.
  4. Ye I totally agree, dark neutral colour to be mean, its either one way or the other, I just feel it deserves to shout. Turns out chrome orange is a three stage (£££££££) I'll be speaking my boss nicely.
  5. Sorry for the charged comment I suppose it was unnecessary, it was just to give you the idea that I would like it to look aggressive to match the noise the vortech makes haha. BTW lotus chrome orange is now at the top of my list, I am going into work tomorrow and will spray a couple of test cards as there is two codes slightly different colours. Google shows both. One seems to be a solid orange, the other flips to yellow. I really like it. Thanks for the input of everyone. I'm getting excited!! Where as going gm again doesn't .
  6. The lighter shade matches the car well, but I'd be going with the darker shade, there isn't much in them but its enough. I really can't decide what I'm doing, problem is I have been so anal over prepping this car its unreal I mean the smallest imperfections everyone else can't see I'm fixing. Like so Also an old repair that had sunk rectified I don't want to go to all this hassle and once done think. Should of gone wild.

  8. I have thought about a darker grey, never even thought about a 370 colour, I'll check my mixing room for colour chips tonight. The reason I had originally and might still settle with gm as I like the car looking quite mean and love a good flake through a paint and gm has a good amount especially with the right polish. quartz grey seems to be solid. Also the roof is going black and I have been tinkering with colours to get a nice bronze for the lmgt4s.
  9. Hi every one. I am very soon going to be re spraying my zed. I am a spray painter and my car is in my work just now, its all primed and nearly ready to go. My problem is I was going to just resparay the OEM gun metal. But now typically my mind is racing for other colours. I'll put a pic up of my car as it was to give a general idea but new parts such as chargespeed rear bumper, blitz spoiler, and side steps are to go on. Obviously original colour would be easier saving from doors and boot lid coming off. Car with new rear end test fitted Then I seen these!! I'm genuinely interested in your opinion guys. All ideas welcome. And I will be updating this thread with progress.
  10. I need to find my full spec on this car as I was inadequately informed when I bought her. Was told it just needs uprated fuel rail and injectors to reach 400bhp supposedly running 350 just now, but no dyno which I rekon should be on the cards. Do u think it's sensible/reliable to push for that? I love the reliability of her ( he says with a blown gasket. >_>
  11. Ye that's why I thought sealer may be a better option as the OEM (paper?) Gasket may only be designed to hold atmospheric pressure and the charger will be forcing air into the plenum.
  12. Just put my thumb over the leak and it idles fine. Thank God for that! Thanks to everyone that replied to help me through. Would you recommend replacing the gasket or use sealer. Or both?
  13. Oh and can't quite remember what side the AFR is on but I'm sure its the opposite side of the faulty cat/lamda so bank 1 I'd imagine.
  14. Cheers for the reply. I have a snap-on ethos code reader at my work I can plug into. After a good inspection there is a part of gasket blown out bout 10mm at the front of the kinetix plenum, but doesn't look that fresh tbh, I'm hoping this may be the cause. I believe kinetix gaskets can be hard to source tho. Maybe just try gasket sealer for now. As for smoke I haven't noticed anything but my girl says she noticed some when passing her work. But let's not take that too seriously (females) And I'm actually unsure on fueling I'm afraid. I'm actually hoping to find out from previous owners on this forum as iv been told its been around on here before.
  15. Hi guys. So I have a vortech charged 04 zed with 57k. Just today I was out in the car and gave it a bit push on a short duel carrigeway, when approaching the roundabout I heard a whine from the engine coming down with the revs, dropped a gear and done the same. When I then stopped at the next roundabout the idle became very rough, a missfire I expect. Occasionally over reving to stop it cutting out. Now after limping home I let the car cool and started again, idle is still incredibly lumpy with a really bad missfire. Slowly bringing the revs up still misfiring at 2500k, but with normal reving seems fine. After letting the revs drop. I glanced at my gauges fuel pressure is altering from 3.5 - 6 which is normal when under load but not idle, and air fuel ratio was sitting very lean at 16.5-1 and would drop going up the revs. It should be noted I already have a code for sensor 2 bank 2 lambda, which has always been there on ownership and never caused a problem. Usually sitting at 14.6 - 14.8 a/f on average driving and around that on idle. So as you can imagine I'm a little sad my pride and joy is sick and would love some thoughts from you guys to help me on my way through fault finding. Also Iv pulled a couple coil plugs out while running to try hear for a change but seems to make no difference!?? My work has an ethos I will be plugging into to check for any new codes on Monday, which I'm guessing may return with a P0300 random missfire. Any help would be hugely appreciated guys. And I sincerely apologise for the essay. David
  16. Desperately looking for a pair of headlights for my 350z. My mot is now due and the headlight adjusters have completely snapped, iv had them apart and there is nothing I can do. There facing the ground. I have a 04 GT which I'm sure should come with xenon's but must of been replaced with h4 style headlights. Hoping someone has something out there! Or if anyone has a good source for new ones at a good price maybe aftermarket. Thanks for ur time guys. David
  17. So my zed headlights are ridiculously low. When I bought the car it was fitted with flyeye vynal on the headlights and was informed I may want to remove them for the 150 mile drive home in the dark. He wasn't joking. Problem is that wasn't really the fault. My lights were pointing straight to the ground, luckiky at my work I have a beam checker, so I adjusted accordingly, they moved up by half an inch but still a good 5" lower than where they need to be and then a clicking sound as they fell to even lower than they were before! My question is what to do next? I gather they have fallen off the adjusters but why did it happen in the first place and how to get them connected again. Are the headlights seperable with sealer? Any info would be more than appreciated as I can't drive her at night and its wearing me thin. Also just to add I have a GT model and these are halogen units which I'm guessing have been changed?   18. Thanks its in need of some TLC tbh Nismo v2 rep front bumper is cracked on both sides and carbon lip is scuffed and goosed. Rear bumper has had a smart repair and covered in dry lacquer, I plan on sorting her all out and give her a detail. Then I'll be happy. Just can't get over the noise of her tho! Seriously it puts the biggest smile on my face every time I drive.
