  1. When I got my Z back in 2012 it did have a lot of stone chips on the bumper....bonnet and a few on the front wings.....I had them re sprayed a few months after so after 7k.......I can report only 1 small stone chip........the key is to keep a certain distance of the car in front.......and a BIG distance with trucks :). The first pic is when I had the re spray and after 18 months later the last pics with the poor paper stuck over the number plate is as it now lol

No change other than the 1 stone chip lol

This is awesome, how much did the front re spray cost you?

  2. Quick update on this.

I e-mailed driftworks asking a few things and they said et12 wont fit without arch work and I will need camber arms etc etc....I'm confident thats wrong and I didn't much care for the way the email was wored to be honest so I'm probably going to put my order in elsewhere.

Due to needing work on the type R coilovers will be off the menu for the time being so I'm looking at springs. I'm thinking of going for the tein s.techs as the drop is subtle and shouldn't cause any issues with scrapping/rubbing etc.

Was this for 18inch wheels? Cant see how they wouldnt fit even with my little knowledge. I dont blame you mate, I thought ide order from Driftworks but might think twice... Have you looked at Japan Racing wheels? Cheaper than Rota's although they dont have an exact lookalike to the Torques.

  3. Hey Guys,

So this might be just a rant or getting it off my chest, however I want to know if you guys all experience the dreaded stone chips and scuffs. Had my Z just over a week now and have had the chance to look over the body work and live with it a bit. There are numerous marks to the front a long with small scuffs here and there (from washing?) but these type of things really grind my gears. Is this something normal for all of you? How do you guys mentally cope with knowing they are there?! Anything that can be used to hide / get rid of said marks?

Sorry for the rant, thanks!

  4. Ive just got mine, had it since Saturday. Mine is as an 08 GT but for me it was getting the newest I could afford with the least miles. They are worth every penny, fantastic looking, powerful, the engine notes are epic, plenty quick enough for the normal driver and most importantly for me they are RARE! Now go buy yourself one :teeth:

  5. WHAT...!!! You don't wash and pamper your Zed yourself, part of the owning experience

of a Zed is looking after it yourself and feeling the satisfaction of CLEANING IT YOURSELF..!!! :scare: :scare:

Haha sorry, I didnt wash my previous car a hell of a lot as the body work use to annoy the hell out of me, so many swirl marks... (from the previous owners)

  6. Hi guys,

As above do any of you guys know a good hand car wash in the Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire area? Im a bit lazy when it comes to car cleaning (sorry I know thats a sin) but ive always been a bit skeptical of getting cars cleaned by other people, paranoid that the cloths / sponges they use just get dropped all day and collect grit (maybe this is just me being paranoid ha). So if any of you have suggestions please advise me,

    Thanks :)

  7. Hey guys thank you all for the nice messages! Always wanted a black one from the start but so damn hard to get one with low miles thats in budget :D Loving the exhaust notes on it, one of the best things about that car!

welcome Jonty. I see you are in Notts! get yourself to our little gathering on the Sunday 1st of March?

Il see what I can do mate, depends if im working

Nice choice. Do you have any plans ?.

Initial plans are to change the wheels, maybe for some Bronze Rota Torques im not sure yet. Will possibly attend Japfest and have a look at the trade stands and other cars for inspiration :D

I reckon those look awesome. Understated and fits the look of the car spot on.

Love the little detailing on these too, very classy: (Gramlights)

Anyone know what the black alloys are on the gun metal Z? Love them, they are the ones I want!!

Would also love to know what wheels are on that Z!!

  9. I cant offer much advice on the type of Z you are looking for but ive had my Z for 2 days now and I love it. Like you I had (and still have as its up for sale) a 2005 Celica which I owned for 3 years. The Z is a perfect step up as the driving position and pedals are much like the Celica in that sense, but the car rides and performs a lot better. Im 23 now but got the Celica at 20, my Z costs 550 for the year which isnt bad but I have had my licence for 6 years (7 this year). It may be best to wait another 2 years for cheaper insurance depending on how much your willing to pay! Welcome to the forum :)
