  1. As the title says really but a bit of history:

Bought the car ('04 with GT pack) from a small town dealer in January, noticed that when I lock the car and try to open the passenger door, it pops open.

Now, the door could not be opened fully, it just went to the point where it sits when you don't shut it properly (about 1cm open).

After haggling the price to factor this in, got it home, sprayed GT85 around the mechanism which solved the problem for a good 4-5 month. After this, the problem then became intermittent.

Now, this evenings discovery is that when I now try the passenger handle after locking the car, the door opens fully?! Also, ever since I bought the car the passenger door could not be locked/unlocked using the button on the interior handle. Electric button on drivers door worked fine, but the manual one on the passenger handle does not budge at all.

Would appreciate any immediate help with this as obviously my door can be opened at all times!

  2. Ahh panic over!

Checked pistons while it was apart and worked fine. Was the first pad/disc change in my ownership as only purchased January this year.

Will be keeping a keen eye on the insides from now. Car was last serviced last September by Nissan with the previous owner, car is only on 43k ('04 plate) so has been stood a lot in its past life. Not sure if this could be the issue.

    Thanks for the info guys!

  3. Sent my car into Nissan for a service and health check. Came back saying it needed front discs and pads immediately due to corrosion (they said it would cost £780 to supply and fit!!)

Anyhow, replaced them for £130 (I have a friend who can get me parts on trade and fitted them myself)

I always check my pads and discs but admittedly only the outside. Now, upon removing them there is a great deal of corrosion. There is about a 35mm gouge through the centre of the disc, and the pads have the proud lip on them (see pics)

Now I can't fathom what could have caused this type of wear? It is on the inside of both front discs, outsides are perfect. Can anyone shed some light? Do I need to refurb the calipers?

  4. If somebody looking for that kind of wheels, they will get a bargain.

The short and tall of any for sale add imho and if you were considering buying this exact set new, why wouldnt anyone want to save some money.

Personally wouldn't pay anymore than £1300 for second hand wheels

So if you were about to shell out for this exact wheel and tyre set up brand new you woulnt save yourself £"x" which is a good chunk of cash?

As I said previous to that, if someone is about to buy these new and spots these, they'd be straight onto them. But I think that person will take a while to find

  5. Trouble is resale value is like a car when removed from showroom, plummets even though it's in the same standard. It's the brand new price tag.

Someone will pay what you're asking, it's just finding that one person, they could be 6 months away.

    Your sale, your terms.

+1 to this guy. You're selling them at a bargain 'brand new' price, but these are still second hand.

As said though, there maybe that one person who's wanting to buy new and they'll take these straight off you. Personally wouldn't pay anymore than £1300 for second hand wheels, no matter how 'new' they were
