Hey all,
Recently when locking my car i noticed that although i could audibly hear it locking, the indicators were not flashing. After checking out the status of the car I realised that the drivers door was still unlocked but the car alarmed.
Using both the key and the switch on the drivers door, the passenger side lock flips but the drivers doesn't, audibly it sounds as if everything is trying to lock. I can open/close the lock manually or by key with no problems.
The issue appears to be somewhat intermittent at the moment.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced this issue too / could point to the likely cause.

Saw in the car park today, anyone from here?

Just as I was getting off at junction 5, saw a grey 350z go past in the outside lane. Anyone from here?

Took mine for a P3 + MOT today.
All thoughroughly friendly and informative. Hoping to head back for a Cobra exhaust soon

Hey all,
Jumped in the car this morning and noticed a fast clicking sound coming from the passenger side. I played with the climate control a bit and could hear that the rate of clicking was consistent with the power of the heater blowers, kind of like a card in spokes. I'm pretty positive there is a leaf or something touching up against the blower fan.
Have any of you guys resolved this problem before if so how accessible is the fan / squirrel cage in the blower motor to remove the intruder?

Sorry I meant clutch to floor, car out of gear.

I've had my car a couple of weeks bow and have only recently started to put my foot down.
Someone casually mentioned the sound saying something like oh, that's a nice diff whine. Since becoming aware of it I'm hearing it more and more, mainly when up past 3000. The sound goes if I drop the clutch so I think it's more likely the gears.
The only way I can really describe it is as if the car has a turbo, it doesn't overpower the engine sound but it's there in the background especially if the radio is off.
My dad went out in car and just said it could be because you are sat over the gearbox, or perhaps a bearing on its way out.
I just wondered ifs this sound relatively normal on these cars, or should I only be hearing the grunt of the engine during heavy acceleration? I can certainly live with it but don't wouldnt want to damage the car through ignorance.

I drove from Birmingham to Somerset after work to pick mine up last Thursday, very tiring day but very worth it! Good luck with the journey / transaction

Woohoo Congrats Andy. Just over 24 hours in your possession now. I doubt you've stopped grinning
Still popping to the window every-so-often to take a look too?
I still do that and I've had mine almost 3 years
I am indeed walking over to the window every 5 mins or so to look at it
My girlfriends first words were that it was beautiful which was a relief, think she thought I was getting a shed.
I haven't been able to pick much out on the car as not being as it should. There is no Bluetooth Adapter in the cradle but that's about it.
I'm going to brave the cold and give it a quick wash now as its got mud on it and the alloys could do with a clean, nothing too hardcore though.

Very Cool Ian! It's been very interesting to read through this thread and see how your car became what it is today. I may have to get a boot divider from you once I have gotten over this initial financial hit of car, tax, insurance etc.

And I'm sorry I'm a 29 year old, tattoo covered dude, but you have to see magic kingdom if you can.
This. I just went to see the Castle but turned out to be one of the best days by far. Bought back a lot of fond childhood memories.

I went in June last year, it was great fun.
It rains pretty much every day for an hour or so around 4pm, good advice would be to wait this out as the parks empty afterwards.
Other important thing is to make sure you get to the Parks early, you'll get as much done in the first hour as you would in the following four. Avoid Wet 'N Wild, it's so dated! Aquatica and the Disney parks are better for that kind of thing. Generally Disney parks feel less like uk theme parks than Universal IMO.
As mentioned above I found this forum really helpful planning our trip: http://www.thedibb.co.uk/
If you are up for an eating challenge try the 'Kitchen Sink': http://www.tripadvis...do_Florida.html Also the Cheesecake Factory is an awesome chain of resturants, there is one a 15min drive away from parks.

Thanks for all the replies, good to hear that they get an unjust rep. Very much looking forward to Thursday night now

Sounded to me like the OP (not being rude here) is a little worried about his Zs power and handling, and finds it a little intimidating, and he is used to a low powered FWD, regardless of whether his Z is set up correctly or has bad tyres if he feels he lacks confidence in it, his best bet is to take some form of training that will boost his confidence and abilities.
It's not so much lack of confidence, I'm just very aware that an over confident attitude towards jumping into one of these is probably what accounts for many being wrapped around trees etc. I've had the occasional skid in a FWD in snow before etc and that doesn't bother me.
The thing that prompted me to post this was that I've seen a fair few videos / pics of Zeds that have completely lost it, and also read that safety report. It made me wonder if the drivers were usually at fault or whether the cars can be unpredictable and get you when you least expect it.
Having said that I'd deffo like to take a skid pan lesson or something, a valuable life skill to have I'm sure for if something does happen.

Was about to say, why is there a need to do any extra driving courses etc.....If you've passed your text, you can drive a car. It is just a car at the end of the day.Put the car in a higher gear and accelerate, plenty of torque in these things to get you up to the correct speed without ringing its neck.
It's all about driving to the conditions and as Grundy said first, it's really no different to any other car. If you've passed your test, you should be able to drive a 350z it doesn't require any advanced driving techniques to keep it in a straight line. Even with 400 hp in mine I don't struggle, even in heavy rain, just be sensible.
Awesome, cheers! I'll drive it steady for a while anyway, just wanted to check that there weren't any "gotcha's" with this car to learn before jumping in it and driving back 200 miles on a miserable January night.

Thanks for the replies, I am tempted to do an IAM course or something.
An example of the kind of thing I mean is when it's raining semi heavily and you are on a slip road accelerating to merge onto a motorway how planted is the car, does the back end ever kick out much in this scenario and if so what is the best action to take to quickly correct.

I put a deposit down on a 350z yesterday
After coming home I randomly decided to look into the safety record which was a little unsettling to say the least. My inkling is that many of the deaths may have been caused by excessive speed coupled with other factors as opposed to inherent design flaws in the car itself, pushing the car to limits on public road kind of thing. Having said that, are there ever times when driving "normally" to the shops or whatever that you think WTF just happened, or loose the back end in wet etc.
I wouldn't consider myself a fast driver at all, I always feel as though a car may loose traction miles before they probably would in reality so never tend to hit bends hard / fast and generally drive slower in wet conditions. Main reasons for Z are looks, sound and a bit of acceleration for dry / straight roads.
I've been driving 8 years but only really had experience with FWD and 4X4 in the past, and nothing like 300bhp. I was also wondering if anybody has any tips for transitioning to the Z from lower power FWD cars?

Put down a deposit today, picking the car up on Thursday . It was pretty much as described, MY06x 48,000 miles. We checked for common faults but couldn't identify anything major.
Minor issues include: radio sounded echoey? A few stone chips here and there and the leather could do with a bit of love but all in all appears to be a very straight car that has been looked after.
There wasn't a great deal of prior paperwork aside from the service stamps and mot certificate, but all seems to stack up from what we can see.

Do you need proof of insurance to tax online, or does order not matter?
Drivers side door locking intermittent

Yeah button doesn't work either, physical switch locks / unlocks in the same way the passenger door does manually.
