46.2 miles = £150 in petrol for me.. You need to make the journey more attractive for me? is there Bacon or Cookies ?
-
35 minutes here... Might be worth meeting for a bacon sarnie ^^

If anyone is interested in this. My triple plate carbonetic clutch is up for grabs with a good flywheel and some use left in friction plates Unlike this one, my release bearing has chewed up the face plate, so combining the 2 to make a usable clutch would be good

Thanks Alex, will take the clutch apart when i get home from work and get some pictures going.. I wasn't sure about what could be done with the fly (i'd heard some flys could have a new ring gear put on) but as it's attached seemed easier to send the lot and let the buyer decide what the want to do with it.

The key is to make me an offer - I had to put a price, if you saw in on eBay then you know how much i'll take for it. I did say in the advert "No idea how much this thing is worth"
Maybe you can try giving me an idea of how much I can sell it for rather than be sarcastic and nonconstructive on my post ?
Cheers - and just for you guys I've also updated the price on the original post too!

Hey,
Quick overview..
I've bought brand new Cam sensors recently, and I have new coils too. Also I've literally just replaced the sparks for Irridium one step colder IX.
Since replacing a blown cam sensor about 3 weeks ago, i've been having this really random startup issue.. sometimes i press the button it just fires on the first revolution but 9 times out of 10 it either wont start or it chokes, grinds and pops and low rev before firing up. (before you ask, yes the coils are new, however with the original coils in it didn't fire at all).
Also when i took the old sparks out (which were a month old) there was heavy carbon and they were very wet, however new sparks don't seem to have made any difference :/
as a side note, I'm keen to get this random start-up sorted as will soon be looking to sell her as the wife really wants a new house.. and i think she's planning on bankrupting me to do so.
I did have a bargaining tool tho, said if we get new house I get a R35 GTR.. only fair ^^ hehe
anyway quick video below shows the issue (about 2 mins in)
Cheers again!! Selah

Selling my Carbonetic twin plate clutch for a Zed, clutch done about 10k give or take.. I swapped out for a Extreme twin in January as the flywheel (which is included) has broken teeth.
No idea how much this thing is worth, I know my extreme was £900 odd and I know a replacement flywheel from ATS japan is over a K.
No shipping charge as i'll send from work - £250 PM me
Cheers for looking guys

Well I'm going away for the weekend but maybe we can get something going.. Would be nice to meet all the nutters on here!
might even invite my mate Ronnie "one punch" Pickering
-
yes, yes I have a celica!! I know, but it gets me from A to B.. Unlike my Zed haha!!!
agreed on pairing!! Although does look like your talking or singing to yourself!! Plus I have no friends so don't do much in car chatting... Teehee
-
heading out of Hull at 6pm seen on stretch between brough and Newport on A63, was behind you in the Celica.. Passed you before Newport!!! Looked like a fairly important phone call 😠you were having
-
You should try 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear in a Zed Keyser built.. I need a hammer to get it in!

Welcome to the club
-
Yeah been to a few, met up with his mate James who had a gunmetal with orange alloys.. I don't really get this craze of having odd colour alloys in comparison to the rest of the car :/ maybe i'm getting old!
-
Not at all Nixy, just a 10 minute drive for me. Or a 3 hour wait for AA to bring me! broke down again last night... although i think I've worked out that the NGK iridium - R spark plugs are crap for FI.. got me some one step colder IX's coming so hopefully should be back on the move soon. Agreed Mike!! there's a few of us rocking about, I keep seeing two black Zeds in Hull, one with purple alloys and rear wing and the other i see at some of the local shows, has a gold and purple engine bay.
I suppose if there is a few of us, could always arrange to meet in a car park for some dogging, err I mean socialising.
-
Ah a true Northerner!! Up near Malton? by any chance.
-
No no.. I'm out in Brough actually - I don't even think I class as the 4% hahah
-
This man is the reason people think Hull is a craphole! Actually at least 4% of the people in Hull are ok
-
I did a few meets back when I had the Supra, was always good enough fun... Problem is if I take my car out on a run further than the local shop I end up having to get a lift home from AA

Mike can you remember if the Zed was green? And if the driver was sobbing and looking very grim?

Hey Lip
I don't know much about the error codes but I can tell you some of the things to check as I had a very similar issue.
first i'd try the easiest solution. ECU reset - effectively called the pedal dance.. http://www.technosqu...om/350reset.htm - if you have had the TB off or replaced chances are you'll need to reset the position etc...this reset procedure is rather tricky to get right so stick with it.. (reminds me I have to do mine again tonight) I'd say the chances of the ECU being toast are slim, especially if you are getting error codes but look at that as last resort.
My ZED had been playing up for months before it died.. but in the end it turned out to be a blown Bank A cam sensor - I would replace all these sensors anyway Bank A & B cams and Crank.. but replace with OEM - the aftermarkets are gank. Also worth checking coils and sparks. and also check the MAF sensor is plugged in on the air intake.
Hope you get her started
edit - oh and get a trickle charger plugged in... if you haven't already ^^

Very sad news, not far from me.. Heart goes out to the families.

Update to my update lol!!!
So done 200 miles this week trying to bed in my new clutch.. Car has been running beautifully.. maybe running a little rich and can smell petrol!! I have new coils and sparks coming next week so looking forward to that... However tonight hit a glitch...
Car broke down on the way home from work on the busiest round about in Hull lol!! Was rather embarrassing so say the least.. The Bitch isn't exactly the most inconspicuous car... AA read the codes P0340.. bank one cam position sensor (knew this anyway as the Slip lights came on), the exact same sensor that I replaced last week to get the car running.. I am going to replace the sensor again along with a new bank 2 also.
Question for the techs out their.... why does my car keep eating cam sensors?? what the F*** is causing the failure on these sensor (the timing chain is new, and obviously timed up so can't be this)
and where shall I get new ones from as Amazon obviously isn't a decent source??
Thanks in advance

I hope so Keyser... Got to get her through an MOT now :/
