  1. I purchased this off here a few months ago, it was in great condition then and still is now as its only covered about 1k miles or less since I had it and cleaned and oiled it with a K&N service pack. Its for the DE engine. £25.00 posted within the UK, PM for dibs/to buy: Thanks, Stu
  2. I went the opposite way from S to Z. As said poles apart but the S is a lot easier to have fun with. Theres plenty to do to the Mini to personalise and make things more interesting. I do miss mine a little and I'll possibly be back in another as my Z is up for sale. Regarding the fuel, yeah thirsty little buggers and made the transition to Z almost unnoticeable!
  3. Sadly selling the Z, only added a few mods and here they are: Horsham Developments Plenum spacer for DE engine. 8mm thick, includes all the bolts, plenum spacers and strut brace spacers. Gasket is re-usable with no damage. Had this on just under 4months. £120.00 plus post or collect from Cannock Staffs. Paypal or cash, buyer to cover paypal fees: Cobra Exhaust. Resonated centre section. This had been damaged by the previous owner and advertised as repaired. Luckily I bought in person as the repair was badly welded and price adjusted. The one hanger had come away from the back box. I had this professionally TIG welded and plated as can be seen in the photos. Its stronger than new, in overall good condition and will certainly polish up better than in these photos. Sounds wise its as others describe just makes the Z sound like it should of done from factory (lovely). £300.00 plus post, I can box and ship at buyers risk, or collect from Cannock Staffs. Paypal or cash, buyer to cover paypal fees: PM on here for dibs, any questions ask in the thread so it helps others if possible. Thanks, Stu
  4. Bought off a member on here in November last year in excellent condition and it still is. Only covered less than 2000 miles since I have had it and approx just over that by the previous (first) owner so a total of less than 5000miles. I would clean the element but it just doesn't need it! Comes with all fitting bolts plus an extra one (anodised red) seen in the first photograph. Posted within the UK for £140.00 or can be collected from Cannock Staffs. Paypal or Cash on Collection. Dibs on this thread then followed up by a Personal Message on here please. Thanks!
  5. I recognise this interior from the Cosford meet Saturday just gone. The quality of the re-trim is stunning, the fit and stitching is just superb. I would say the Z seats aren't the easiest either as they look quite a complex pattern.
  6. First 50 or so miles have gone well. Ive had about 20mins in the daylight to have a look around in my own time as it were. Headlights need a polish as a priority, I feel they stand out. Leather is in pretty good condition, I will clean it and treat it ASAP. Stereo (standard) seemed to not want to tune earlier, I could only use the preset stations. No major concern as I want to replace it soon. Tomorrow I will have it on some ramps on my drive to have a look underneath. Im sure there is a under tray rattling (sounds like a plastic rattle nothing serious and no one else can hear it other than me). Very happy overall. Awesome car and road presence.
  7. Boom! Purchasement made. What a car. Details to follow along with many questions for you seasoned Z'ers.
  8. First drive in a Z today. I hoped for a bit more rawness if Im honest. It's by no means a criticism, I didn't expect it to be raw. Possibly a little more Air filter or Exhaust noise would be all I would want for. Again, not a criticism. Very fast, sounds great, feels great, build quality better than I expected and I didn't expect it to be bad at all so lots of positives. The car was an '07 so a facelift. 85k, full history, Midnight Blue. I have never bought a car purely for its colour or turned down a good car because it wasn't the preferred colour of choice but I really personally think silver or GM suit the Z the most. Body work had a couple of bad stone chips that should of been taken care of and very slight bubbling on the roof around the chips. Possible shadowing on the drivers door and five small dents on the passenger door. All could be taken care of cheaply so didn't put me off. Test drive time and I made sure it was a good distance, handled well as to be expected but possibly 4th, definitely 5th and without a shadow of a doubt 6th gear synchros were shot. Bloody awful at the stick. 100 miles there, 100 miles back. :-( The search continues.......
  9. Ok, I need to look into the variations with the engine. I knew they changed the engine with the facelift but I was unaware there is three variations. In all honesty the local one I went to view today lured me in at £6k and thats my ideal budget. If I cant stretch to meet a decent car etc then I will hold back for now. Something will turn up Im sure.
  10. No not really, Gun metal (think thats the colour) Grey is possibly favourite. I would want to avoid the higher tax so 2005 and below? I will look now as I have only just got in. Im in no immediate rush, I can live without a car for a few weeks if I have to. Thanks again for all the help and info, great forum.
  11. Yeah I've had a quick look on here. I will do again now. Majorly annoyed at this sellers actions this morning but onwards and upwards.
  12. Well, you guys won't believe this. I can't. Arranged to view the car mentioned above at 11am this morning. Pulled up at the address and got that wonderful feeling in my gut that I was looking at my next car. Seller opened the front door to tell me he sold it a minute earlier. Shrugged his shoulders. Mightily pi**ed off as my Mini sold this morning also so I was in a position to buy. :-(
  13. I just can't see most people running the good stuff unfortunately. With more than one previous owner how can anyone know?? :-(
  14. Thanks for all the help. Regarding the fuel I doubt most are run on the higher octane surely?
  15. Yeah good point. I think I'm getting confused with ST servicing as that has a similar expensive service around that mileage.
  16. Even if I don't like it or 350's I will be happy to walk away thinking I haven't wasted my time or had it wasted for me. Ive recently looked at four Focus ST's and the experience has put me off the car in general. The condition dealers try and sell cars in is shocking. Unwashed, accident damaged.... Yesterday I didn't even get out of my car as I pulled up this ST was sat there with a flat tyre. Why? Just why? Like I say, really has put me off them and I wasn't 100% convinced anyway. Im a keen Cyclist (when I get chance) which made me hesitate with a Zed but Im confident in the Seasucker bike mounts so I will either go that route or a custom hidden hitch mount (I can fabricate to a reasonable level). Nice project (maybe :-) ).
  17. Ok thanks for that Shane. It has mixed front to back tyres but they aren't 'cheap' tyres so its not the be all end all. Just reading the buying guide on here and its sitting right at the 'big service' mileage so I will find out what is needed in this service and check its been done. Stu
  18. Hi all! New car time and I'm really unsure about selling my R53 Mini Cooper S. Its been put back to standard and up for sale so too late to pull out now. I have gone from car to car trying to decide what I want next but I keep coming back to the 350z. The Mini was horrendous on fuel so it makes Zed ownership less daunting, I only do low mileage as I work from home. I have a viewing tomorrow for a local to me UK 350Z GT. Its a low miler (56k) 2004. Fingers crossed its a good one and I will see how I get on with it. Ive had a read of the site but in case I have missed anything should I look out for anything other than the usual tomorrow? Thanks, Stuart
