  1. Haha love this topic!

Well my zed I have to plan my route, certain roads I can't get down as there's too much of a gradient difference, to hit a cats eye is nothing much like docwra it takes me a lot of time and effort to get her in the air.

Speed bumps, if their the small ones across the road/ square blocks/ across the road in one piece but high entry, forget about it. If they allow the back wheels to get on or I can go sideways across then I can get away with it.

A mates estate I can only get across one speed bump, rest of the time it's two wheels on the pavement and two on the speed bump.

Drove round Liverpool the other night and it was mayhem avoiding sunken grids/potholes/ poorly repaired Tarmac. I didn't think mine was that low either, I've had to raise it a tad to get it onto the new drive way and have to take the same route on and off or else she's like a beached whale on steroids!

Pics can't get photo bucket to upload but tknutter on Instagram and there's a few on there.

Edit: what size wheels are you all running while being low? I'm on 18"s

  2.

ah cool, yeh i was at anglesey too, i do remeber seeing you sliding around! i was going to come and talk to you but my friend drove his car with a roof rack full of wheels into the garage shutter and ripped it off haha! so by then you had gone!

Haha I did hear from a mate about someone damaging a garage shutter.

Where about are you from? If your local to Buxton I'm going there on the 14th December for the last day of the year if your around, you could have a seat.

  3. Round, black and got decent tread for at least a few laps, that'll do me haha.

On my 9.5j Rotas I run 215-265 no higher profile than 45 prefer 40 realistically. Pressure ranges between 30-40 psi. Higher psi I find I lack grip.

  4. I drift my baby zilla, totally standard part from HSD coilovers and managed to link Anglesey by the end of the day (but that's down to my poor skills)

I could do with rear camber arms to make tyres last longer and make me feel like I'm getting the full use of my tyre. I'm also gonna try and swap the oil in the diff as I thought it let go once or twice at Anglesey but otherwise the standard lad is more than enough for a novice like me.

A week before I did Anglesey, I did my first drift day in zilla when she was totally standard suspension etc and she was perfect like that, I just enjoy the low life.

Edit: apologies for the pic but wouldn't let me upload the original so a screenshot of my phone home screen will have to do

  5. Handbrake - nice to have but not necessary IMO, there are very few occasions (slow right angle corners, extended a drift where speed is reducing) you actually need one, the money would be far better spent on lock mods IMO. Ive run every diff you can think of on a variety of 200SX's and actually find the Zed LSD is pretty good, a 2 way would be amazing but they aint cheap.

Other than that they are a piece of cake to slide about, and due to the torque curve I dont think they are lacking in oomph either, if I was looking at making a Zed into a comp car Id be trying to save weight first and foremost

I agree about the handbrake as I said it would make things slightly easier with scrubbing speed off for slow corners.

I found the lsd to be ok, but sometimes lets go. I'm going to try and swap the diff oil to see if this helps it at all.

Never had an issue with getting her to slide more a case of hard to keep her in a straight line with all the assists off haha.

To be honest I'm not even going to attempt to build this into a comp car as I enjoy the fact it's a gt car with all its luxuries then turn all the assists off and it's play time.

  6. I know I'm a bit late on this thread but only just found it. Loving them pics above. Car looks good!

What was drift cup like to compete in? How many rounds did you do?

Are you still on standard lock?

  7. Hi all,

Any of you people's running exceptionally low Zeds and having issues with exhaust catching everywhere?

I'm looking to get mine tucked but the cats are also an issue, anybody over come these issues? Take the cats out or that?

I'm that low to get over speed bumps I have to plan my journey and find a low part of the kerb to go onto and drive over the spee bump one wheel on the kerb over over bump lol. Trying to find a pic but it's on my Instagram tknutter if you want to see.

  8. I'll be honest neither do I but, when your trying to scrub speed off at the top of third to get round a second gear corner it's hard work. A managed to at Anglesey by using foot brake and gear but would just like it a bit easier at them times.

Learnt without a working handbrake on an mgf and just went from there.

  9. Clark Motorsport - wish I had the clear funds to buy one but need to sell me 200sx Tomei 2 way diff first :(

StevoD - have you replaced any of your hand break components? My so bad I'm looking to replace the shoes and cables as there both at the end of there life from what I've investigated.

Shame about drift cup requiring full cages, although I was talking to someone from japspeed at a drift day and he was saying that the organisers were complaining about there being comp spec built cars entering with big powerzzzz etc and saying its not the way they wanted it to be. Can't have it both ways really.

Fancy a trip down to pod but it's having to book months in advanced

  10. Just read through bizz thread, awesome build and car! A mate of mine does BDC joseph ankers drives a Onevia.

StevoD looks like you know how to shread tyres too!

Are you lot running hydros or standard handbrake? Mine is pretty useless to be honest.

Need some camber arms and an alignment to try and get everything setup, although think I'm going to raise her before I get her aligned.

I fancy doing teeside it's just the distance from me. What's access like to the track? With mine being so low I'm doing some research about the roads around the area.

Personally I'm far from BDC level, tbh just about put a skid together in my opinion. Fancy doing drift cup next year if I can get some seat time in. Although I don't do it for competition it's just for fun.

  11. This was me when I bought my zed last month. Within two days I'd bought rota wheels and HSD coilovers".......

....... I was keeping it standard too.....

........ Credit card went into meltdown.

  12. ......... So where do all you drifted hang out in here?

Just done my first drift day with my 350z (purpose bought to drift) was amazing!

Basically a standard car and she performed effortlessly just my poor skills made her look weak!

Put some HSD mono pro coilovers and and rota torque wheels. Got some 25mm spacers for the front coming tomorrow morning so front fitment will be perfect.

So, where about you all go? Anyone attending Teesside this month? Wondering whether to book on or not. Enjoyed Anglesey so I think tracks is where it's at for me. Used to drift Buxton and Birmingham wheels but scared of that wall with the repair costs of this.

Also anyone running an aftermarket diff? Day and night over the standard lsd? Seen a group buy has just finished which I missed out on :(.

Also have done a search etc on here but thought I'd start a purpose topic to see how many on here mainly with a thought of getting a group together for a day.

  13. Hi all,

I'm Thomas from north wales, used to have an 200sx s14 but got fed up of it being unreliable. When the sr20 decided to die it was time to or purchase my 350.

It's an 06 plate uk gt car. Totally standard at the moment but she's got a few bits that need doing on her to make her right.

    Cheers
