  1. time has come to bid farewell to the Z, I can honestly say it was of the most fun cars i've had the pleasure to own, 3.5 V6 DE was a torquey little beast that liked to wiggle it's bum, turned heads and made me feel a million quid. Surprisingly it was also one of the most reliable cars I've owned - it broke down twice in my 3 years. Once for a flat battery (original @ 90k miles) and the second time it didn't actually break down but the battery in the remote died and it wouldn't start.

This time it was the wifes turn to pick a car, she went a bought a discovery sport..

I just want to give my first impressions

    1. It's is very comfortable

    2. It's is very fat

    3. It's very comfortable

The same ride from Edenbridge to Croydon I used to take in the Z being a smile generator is now a 'Oh @*!# the cars going to fall over!' The electric need some getting used to as does the sub 350z mpg.

On the whole though, i think it might just grow on me it's not dead when accelerating, fair whack of torque but power is dire frankly!

Anyone else gone from z to suv? Do you get used to the lack of pace?

  2. So many good games at the moment, struggling to prioritise what to get.

I've bough Gears of War 4, but i also want Forza Horizon, Battlefield and the new TitanFall. I also want the new Final Fantasy thats out next month :(

Not sure what to go for either - I'm real tempted to go for GOW4, Titanfall 2 and battfield 1 but £100 for bf1! Crazy money! I think my PC needs an upgrade too shiny new I7 32GB Ram and the latest Nvidia in SLI should do the trick..then HTC Vive.. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

  3. But surely the drivers job is shared by signal men, platform staff, etc. Even our back end station is manned during busy periods. Since Southern have been in the media with conductors going sick and not turning up for work, they have suddenly come out of the wood work and put on an elaborate flurry of PR trying to be recognised.

Frankly the use of a conductor especially on the main routes duing peak when station staff are plentiful is absoultely not needed. In the 12 years I have been commuting with every person that's fainted or needed a ticket the conductor has not been there to help, in fact when you call the emergency buzzer, you get through to the driver!

The role will soon be extinct and any measures to prevent that from happening are frankly getting in the way of technology.

On the above note about people losing their jobs because of the strikes: anyone being sacked because of the strike either needed to find a better employee or a bit of personal motivation to not be a on a final written warning.

Though it stands that someone is always paying - I'm driving 15miles on top of my 1hr 30 commute to keep myself in the office, or I work from home, in which case my colleagues get a*rse that someone's working smartly instead of seen to be 'chopping wood' maybe i should heed some of my own advice..!

Southern have already secured the jobs but put the caveat in that trains are not guaranteed to run without a conductor i.e. conductors decide to be sick and bring down the service, yet the RMT still will not listen. Frankly I would have offered 4k instead of 2k and given them a 1.5k payrise. 2k now and 1K January 20th and 1k March 2017 pending a cease on strike action.

RMT need to go to be legally analysed to the impact and loss of earnings during this period with a substantial fine for the guilty party

  4. For the record, when my dad's borrowed my Zed to head off to the coast, I can tell with a few minutes if he has tried to sneak in standard petrol by the lumpiness of the power delivery in the lower range. In my car certainly it makes the world of a difference.

  5. Hi Linds,

Not sure what part of Kent you in but it maybe worth a trip to Abbey Motorsport in Oxted, these guys inspire a lot of trust with very experienced and diligent mechanics. I am sure they will take a quick look for free and let you know

  6. Hi,

Wonder if anyone here can help, i went through a rather large puddle which managed to rip part of the undertray off and left a squeak in the area of the rear offside wheel \ suspension. I can usually drive for about an hour before it starts and it gets progressively worse, I reckon something needs greasing but haven't a clue where to start.

It's not speed dependent, sounds more like a component in the suspension, it almost sounds like a bird is stuck at the top of the spring?

    Any thoughts?

  7. And to extend on the analogy which the eu did, in times of need - flooding up north or the broken flat roof that flooded number 9 it was covered by the eu or at least had a lions share of relief.

Admins please delete the pic i posted earlier, I have tried to removed the link from meme generator but it is still there

  8. The issue wasn't about conditions that had to be met, but what it means to be united for most.

Pulling out of the eu was essentially like saying im not paying the communal charge to keep our block of flats in good order because if I put 200quid away each month I will be better off in my rosey flat while those that can barely afford to pay will fall to dilapidation. When in the metaphoric reality we will all look bad in the end.

So much was gained by the eu on a global scale in terms of peace and to a degree prosperity its been a shame to throw it away.

  9. Can one of the mods take down the quote of that picture. It pops up on my screen when on tapatalk and sends the wrong message while I am sat in the train. I'm not a farage supporter but I don't need that popping up on my screen

  10. I think when you feel it is too far, it probably is. I am sorry. I was feeling rife with anger seeing footage of manchester and london and now realise my views were equally as extreme even in the other way.

That image does not represent the typical ukip supporter.

    I will delete the post.

I still stand by farage being a vile human veing though

  11. Whether it's better to be in than out is clearly a point for continuing debate but you have to wonder what the result would have been if there hadn't been sooooo many lies told.

It's ridiculous that politicians can tell so many lies during a campaign and get away with it. I hope they've at least rendered themselves unelectable, but sadly I feel that they'll just carry on, BAU. The £350m figure wasn't a 'mistake' as the article puts it either - it was a lie.

    Democracy.

The people that vote for farage should be shamed (not directly) but by association. Something like this:

or do you think it's a bit much

  12. The one issue I had was the amount of racism i experienced when i moved to the UK from germany, systematically named a Nazi as was my bro and sister (1991) even though we were born in glasgow, lived in a UK military base (germany) and spoke barely any German! Seeing reports in the newspaper of the things being said to the Poles really tugged a string for me, made me angry to say the least and it was all because that 2 bob monkey Farage
