Intake manifold off, with help from my good friend Dex
Front end off, rad gone, air con rad bent out of the way (soon to be deleted as it turned out), loom off and tucked out of the way...
I was left with this; bumper back on to be pushed out of the garage. (Still looking very sorry for herself!) (Ignore pics, seems I only took dodgy photos)
Engine out, stripping begins
Block disassembled; not looking toooooo good!
Off to the machine shop for the block, crank, heads, pistons and rods!
Few goodies started arriving.....
A lot of cleaning took place... The Mrs loved this part-- Genuinely!
Crank back in
1st Piston in and clearances checked.
More pistons installed, pathfinder mod started
Cams in - Uprated
Heads back on, timing all taken care of
Larger injectors fitted; only running 440's for the initial base map to get her broken in
Turbos on
Few too many beers later it seems!
On the stand all ready to go, minus wiring

Well here is my most recent project.
Few details about the car before we begin with the interesting bits:
- 40'000 Miles
- 54 Plate
- UK Spec
- Was High CR N/A build making 306 bhp built by Abbey Motorsport before I started playing.
As it stands as of 30 May, it is just waiting on a steering coupler from the USA before heading off to Abbey Motorsport for mapping.
Pics of the way she stood as I purchased her;
She got some new shoes
New HU - Avic D3
(Test fit, wires sorted properly once tested working)
Nexus 7 mounted; Version 1..
Nexus 7 mounted; V2, still not happy so V3 currently in the making..!!
She had a bath....
And then we hit this little milestone

Hello all,
My names George, I'm 23 and in the RAF based in North Yorks.
As the title alludes, I've been a silent observer for quite a while now whilst having a play with my car.
I will endeavour to post up a build thread at some point over the next few months whilst I am on an extended holiday in Minhad!
As it stands now, it has an 18G Greddy TT kit installed, and the motor has been fully built.
All that is left to do now before I send it off to Abbey Motorsport to get mapped, is;
- Install my newly purchased MAF sensor
- Pressure test the intercooler and assoc. pipework
- Install the GTM steering coupler
- Add some oil....
I'll let the pics do the talking for the time being;
Takes ages uploading photos,
More to follow!

Any pics of this?

A nice step by step would be nice.... I've been considering this for a while now

Brute force? That's an understatement haha! I can't even begin to make sense of that photo!
Mine just twisted off happily.. Looks good though.

I'll take this. PM Sent.

Ok so we left off with the engine fully built minus the wiring.
For the time being I used stock loom to get the engine in and running
Engine in car assessing clearance issues!
The clearance issues are pretty simple.....
The steering shaft fouls the downpipe, and the steering coupler fouls the turbo housing. See below:
The temporary solution to allow me to bolt it all up to move the car about was to grind down the bolt on the steering coupler and mill down the steering shaft.
After that I had a custom downpipe made up and have ordered the GTM slim steering coupler, although I envisage that needing some time on the milling machine too.
UPDATES to come as soon as the Steering Coupler arrives and is fitted..
