  1. Pick up a engine and box at last hoping to crack on soon. ;)

    Thought you'd left us. :dry::lol:

Great news Trig ~ build thread might be an idea. :)

Still lurking lol. I tried the engine into a spare shell I have as it's got no front on it well just the chassis legs. And it fits so that's one worrie off my mind but I will need to change the inlet/plenum as I don't like the rear entry and it could foul the bulk head as is.

May have a go at making a new inlet. Maybe even twin inlets like the 370.

  2. Got one this week engine complete with all ansiarys and gearbox half a prop full loom and ECU. ;)

I spoken to quaife they do a bellhousing for my box to fit the Z so just wondering what the gearboxes are worth???

    Maybe go aftermarket ECU too?

  3. Firstly I would like to say well done on the car looks awesome.

I really don't think people say this enough people spend a lot of time effort money on cars with little to show for there efforts.

Next is a few question as I'm thinking of using a Z engine in my next drift car project.

    Is it standard internally?

How dose it feel power wise? Low down grunt torque?

Do you feel like your over revving the engine or have to kick the clutch to keep it skidding?

I'm looking to fit it to a mk1 escort estate with a quafie sequential gearbox to a 6linked Capri live axle.

So in short it's gona feel like a lot more power in this than in a Z.

I have a 250hp engine in my current drift/track car but it dose feel little under torqued for drifting larger tracks. ;)

  4. Sorry guys not been on for a while something else came up but that's sorted now the project car is home and being stripped.

I have done a lot more research into these engines and the bottom ends do seam to be a big problem with them?

I don't mind rebuilding a engine but don't want do be doing it every year or even mid session need it strong and reliable. ;)

  5. Well bit of a delay but I finally got the estate back to to garage and started stripping bits off that won't be needed. Done pretty well to nearly covered the cost of the car by selling parts off it. ;)

It's pretty ruff but I'll be chopping most of it out anyways. How to I go about posting picture on here guys?

  6. Quick look on eBay last night top gear manifolds look ok £250 or some nice Megan ones £500.

Also looked at throttle body's some nice OBX from US quite cheap. But have to pay import duty.
