  1. Odd that larger itbs yielded less power. I'm suspecting its a velocity thing reducing torque :/ na tuning is witchcraft though.

I 'think' the nismo race cars made more power na when not running the restrictions, but this is certainly the most powerful privateer na vq I know of. And where I get a lot if my tuning ideas from for my car lol

  2. All removed from my car when I got the new custom setup done.

Decat pipes, unsure of brand. £sold

Y pipe back stainless exhaust (no y pipe), again unsure of brand, could be custom. Very nice note in cabin with zero droaning and quite quiet. Perfect for someone who dailies their car and doesn't want ridiculous noise.

Could do with some spit and polish.

    £150 ono

Can't seem to embed the photos on my phone so if someone could help with that I'd really appreciate it.

  3. Had a trackday at Cadwell recently as a shakedown of the new wisefab setup and it was a mixed bag really, some good points and some bad.

Pros: turn in and front end grip is INSANE, so so happy with it

Cons: because the kit is designed for zero caster w have pulled the heel quite far forward in the arc to get 8deg caster, this meant on big corners that really loaded up the suspension, the wheel was hitting the back of the headlight/brackets and locking the steering. NOT GOOD! This was further compounded by the longer bottom arm and, frankly, ridiculous stance which has reduced the wheel rate of the suspension from 8kg to 6kg. Also after playing with ride heights to get the suspension to a point I could drive around the issues the brakes gave up the ghost :( so that pretty much ended the day.

Heres a pretty pic to show it actually did go on track lol

So the plan going forwards is that I am working with APW engineering to improve the wisefab for what I want to do with it. We are going to remake the upper arm with the caster built in to pull the wheel back nearer the centre of the arch, and also contemplating shortening the lower arm. The wheel rate of the suspension is also adjustable and its currently on softest setting.

Brakes wise I got some new rear discs to go with the new rear pads I fitted just before Cadwell and some Carbon Lorraine RC6 front pads, also refreshing the fluid.

Unfortunately I have been on holiday and then taking the Z to Le Mans so the wisefab mods are waiting till after that and I am cracking on with fixing the brakes before Le Mans.

To pass the time in between Ive been taking a few pages out of DJTIMO's book and been stripping sound deadening out and also stripping the already peeling paint from the roof to vinyl wrap it. heres a few more pics.

    Roll on Le Mans!

Just the drivers side to strip then clean off all the 'goo' left by the sound deadening. Also found a little rust pocket on a seam which Im glad I caught early enough to just treat and hammerite.

  4. Fwiw I got long tube manifolds (the only ones worth having) and a 3.5" single exit exhaust made for £1850, which included removal of old and fitting of all the new stuff. Also it's all stainless steel and using burns parallel merge slip on collectors. The long tubes are to the same specs as the sgmotorsport ones as seen on Sasha's Z, mike Gardner's z etc

  5. You can also get into and map UTEC yourself with laptop and I believe do data logging (though I haven't tried that yet) I flashed a map for my mods to the ecu I found on an American forum and its worked well

Oh also has a switch on it for switchable maps.

THOR can map it, I rang and spoke to them.

But the software to do it is already on every windows pc/laptop so anyone could really.

  6. UTEC can't control cam timing like uprev

But I 'think' its better for boost as can directly have boost control off it etc

They got good reviews in America before being discontinued .

Did a bit of reading up on them as my car came with one fitted but cant control cable throttle so will eventually have to put it up for sale

  7. It is and isn't, £1850 for custom long tubes and y pipe and exhaust thats free flowing and track legal I think is a good price. PPE long tubes from torqen are more money and not as good ;) and even FI builds need and exhaust.....

Rather than spend near 1500 on jwt cams and springs etc I took Rick up on an offer of high comp heads, with oversize titanium valves, hollow gt high lift cams, Nismo gt double valve springs, ported polished and assembled by a nismo engineer in Japan :D

£2500 Inc. Delivery but means no bottom end work 'needed' in future.
