Bought my zed about 3 weeks ago and just been getting use to it and enjoying every minute in it

Not long until the forum takes hold and gives me ideas!

So first thing I did was buy a cosworth panel filter off demon tweeks brilliant service came next day!

Bought LED 501s for number plate lights and side lights really bright white looks really clean! - eBay - £5ish for 10

Then also bough a OBD2 reader shows up all the cool stuff on the engine instant mpg...ect

Really good little tool I unplugged a sensor and it showed up on the app (dashcmd) and I was able to turn the engine light off on the dash board which might come in handy when I get decats

I also did this so I wanted people think of these. It's the covers for the headlight washer jets. Tell me what you think

I'm not sure on them yet i'll try and get daytime pictures up tomorrow.

I work with carbon fibre so I see it everyday so I might just be me in two minds but it does look tidy I must admit.

Hopefully Cobra exhaust is coming soon

Right then... I have been in touch with j17 today.

I outlined that my car isn't the 300spec and all that jazz the guy listened and argued his point saying it's not his fault it's someone else's. So he said he'd ring me back and check over everything his end so basically they've rang back and offered me a nice deal which I'm disclosing but I'm happy with it.

 

You haven't told us what the deal was Matt..

All in all if j17 made a genuine mistake they've rectified it for me and if anyone buys from them just be a bit wary do research which I should of done more thoroughly. I'm treating my car as a rare one as there can't be many or any which are registered so late in 2006 and have the DE engine

I'm going to do some performance upgrades to it now you know the usual stuff and try and bring it up to that magic 300 figure

I'd like to thank everyone who's helped me on this topic I didn't think it would've got so many replies and views you've all been a massive help to a new guy like me

Hopefully i'll set a progress thread up soon so watch this space

Not really an update chaps but I rang them up for the original spec sheet they had on the car but apparently because it's sold the original spec sheet they had for it has been deleted.

So tonight I've just been gathering all the resources so I can tackle them tomorrow.

Don't get me wrong under no circumstances am I disappointed in the car ands it's abilities what's annoying is I could've got a 05 car which would've been cheaper to buy, cheaper road tax and cheaper insurance. I bought under the premiss that it was the uprev model (the one I wanted) I did a bit of research but I couldn't find anything regarding the interior of the uprev car. I actually thought the 313 came with the face lifted interior.

I would happily keep the car now but I believe a refund is needed and if I don't get it i'll simply send the car back and get my money back and look on the forum for a car at least they'll be more knowledgable people selling me their car.

If you believe the vehicle has been misrepresented in its sale you have case. Is the car on finance at all, finance companies love this sort of stuff.

But that model year came with 2 types of engine clearly. The buyer has some responsibility but the buyer is only as aware of the cars specifications from what the dealership has advertised

This has happened before on here, the date is of registration not manufacture and sometimes cars can hang around a while before they sell new

 

The dealer may have been under the same misconception, although most just use a generic term to sell the car

It's still been mis sold it's up to the dealer to get their facts right

Interior is also identical to mine from the looks of it. I thought thwy facelifted the cars interior circa 2005 or so???

 

I do feel bad for you mate, get in touch with the dealer and rain havoc tomorrow morning.

 

At the same time though they can ask whatever they want for a car, it's the customers money at the end of the day. The fact they advertised it as a 300 though should give you enough grounds for something.

Oh yeah I know but I think it's like you said they advertised it as 300 gt spec which it clearly isn't. I see it being a long haul if they don't take responsibility and arrange a deal with me

Nobody likes being swindled mate but you are worried about 20BHP, I wouldn't let it get to you too much.

 

But in the future do your research buddy. I couldn't afford a final edition HR 313 so didn't bother looking into them. I could only afford a first generation GT. So collected tonnes of information from the internet about tax costs on different years or models, everything the GT came with, what base models could have bolted to them to make them pass as a GT etc etc...

 

And I did all that when the budget was around 5K! Let alone 8K. Crikey. Next time do more research mate and join forums before buying. It will help you out loads.

 

I wanted an E46 M3 but couldn't afford the 2003 model to go for. Just the 2001 model which 'only' had 18's and an issue some developed with the engine so turned to the 350Z instead.

Well I am bothered about it when a couple of grand is involved yeah I did a bit of information but I don't think this was ever covered that some 06 models had the 276 engine maybe I didn't look hard enough

Yeah I was happy with the milage of it and condition is top notch! I did say the the sales man doesn't it come with rays as it's a gt spec? Didn't get much of a reply. Thing is I wasn't bothered about that it was just I wanted the 300bhp model and I was going to modify it to suit me then but now it's the 276 I wouldn't of spent all that for it - no way! It has just sickened me really. Keep the info coming guys makes me more knowledgable to argue with. Also if some one has a genuine 300 spec please pm me your log book to see if it says 350z gt 300

If the car is sold as a 300 it should be a 300(rev up u got)

When did u get it ? I would take it back or ask for some money back ,

some rev ups were out in 2005 I think

rev ups were available from 17/02/06 to 31/03/07 iirc

See this is what i thought? at the end of the day its not up to me do research on the car its the dealers responsibility for the information on the car they're selling to be correct.

I bought the car a week ago. Like Darren350 said I could've got a lot cheaper car regarding price to buy and tax.
