  1. Lurch the exhaust sounds fairly decent from the clip of it and doesn't look bad either. Good job. ;)

One thing though you have different tread pattern tyres on the rear of your Zed, ...I'd seriously consider changing them when you can as mismatched tyres can cause problems especially with the weather only getting worse at this time of year.

    Thanks :)

I'm replacing the tyres next month hopefully (funds allowing) I've ordered a set of FK 453's for the front that are supposed to be getting delivered tomorrow (there were cuts on the inside of the tyre wall that i noticed when sorting the exhaust) and couldn't afford to replace all 4 at the moment so figured that was more dangerous than the miss match.

hope the 453's are good :)

Looks and sounds great, I've never had a problem with japspeed stuff

Thanks man. it really needs a clean and polish it was so shiny but this rain is incessant at the moment so getting out to clean her is almost impossible

  2. just watched it, bit dark but sounds v good

yeah it was after i had got back from work i remembered i had my go pro with me so thought i would get a quick vid

Sounds very beefy! And people moan about these exhausts! i've got a k2 and love it!!

Yeah Im not sure why? i know people had a bit of an issue with fitment but that all seems to be a while ago and i had no issues...

  3. Fitting was fine. i had a mare getting the old one off and then got ripped off for getting the cat bolts drilled out. but i fitted the K4 myself with not that many tools and a couple of axle stands and a creeper.

Im happy with the way it sits. looks nice shines well when its clean and the tips are adjustable forward and backwards so you have a bit of room to make them more your taste.

    here are some photo's

  4. About 3 or 4 weeks ago i fitted a japspeed k4 cat back system as the standard exhaust literally fell apart, i still haven't found one of the tips..... :/ so I had a look around and found the k4 it was in my price range and was a little different.

I obviously read the reviews on here and elsewhere on the internet, but with a bit of searching i found that this site was the only one that seemed to hate on them so much. I thought there must be a reason for it but thought id give it a go anyway. so far I'm happy :) i know it won't last as long as a gemini or the actual HKS but I don't really mind that. I don't have masses of free cash and need the car back on the road to get to work.

Im really happy with it all, the fitment was perfect and there were no problems at all.

so i thought i would get a video of how it sounds incase anybody is considering it as an option.

    Hope you all like.

I tried to embed this rather than link to it but could figure it out :S

  5. i literally never got any notification you had posted :S sorry

I had a knocking on the car that i thought was the usual bushing issue took it to them on the forums recommendation. it was intact steering joint (knuckle) and sorted with no hassle and at a good price

Yeah they are at hillington just opposite the costa drive through and the KFC.

(I've used them a couple of times now and still can't rate them highly enough)

  6. the connection between the CAT and the y pipe is by button type studs that are fixed to the CATS.... grind them off then drill them out and replace with nuts and bolts

    That's perfect. Thanks a lot.

I'd best get grinding them off :)

  7. I've got plenty of nuts bolts and gaskets in stock if you need some but they are just a normal bolt, M8x40 I think

I've already got all the bits for replacing I should need as far as I know yet but thanks I'll keep it in mind. :)

I'm just wondering what is holding the standard y-pipe to the standard cats

    Thanks

  8. So I'm trying to remove and replace my exhaust from the cat back but the nuts that join the cats to the y pipe have corroded a lot an seized up to a point where I can't get them off. I have tried soaking them with wd40 and a breaker bar but nothing is budging. I have one question before I start the angle grinder up an sorry if it's been asked before.

Are they a normal bolt or are they something else

Again sorry if this has been asked before but I can't seem to find it anywhere :/

  9. Hey guys.

Some one reversed into my car today. The damage isn't that bad and the guy has suggested we go about this without involving insurance and I think this is the best option.

But I need to get a quote on Thursday to get the damage repaired.

I need somewhere fairly local to Glasgow but that can give me a quote quick.

    Any ideas ??

  10. There are no 2 ways about this but it seems Infinity have done it again

Took my car there for some work and they did an astounding job of it!

    Cant rate them highly enough!

If you are anywhere near glasgow and using any other garage give these guys a try next time!

If any of them read this Massive THANKS!!! :D

  11. UPDATE!!!!!!

so i took her down to infinity at glasgow and dropped her off, a few hours later i got a call from david who explained that he had been investigating and that the bushes were infact fine. but there was an issue with the steering rack-end and antiroll bar links (i think). he quoted me a price and told me he could have it done the next day so i said go ahead.

I went to pick it up and was told he was still trying to sort something, which seemed odd as they had told me it was finished when they called. turns out david was having a problem with the steering angle sensor after doing an alignment it wouldn't reset. so had both the espoff light and the 'slip' light on on the dash, he tested it to see if it was working ok, which it was and said i could take it home but would need to take it back to get it sorted out at another suitable time. Most importantly though he had stopped the knocking. we aranged to drop it off today and leave it with him.

Now he has had it all day and has asked if i can leave it with them for another day so he can get in touch with nissan about it.

I just want to say how amazing the team at Infinity Glasgow have been with this they have given me a lovely Q50 to use while I get my car back and haven't asked for a penny this time around to get rid of the lights or even for the insurance on the courtesy car.

Anyone any ideas why the steering angle reset wouldn't be working ???

    Cheers

    Adam

  12. So I've had the wheel off and taken a scout around at the ball joint and it looks in good condition. I think I'm just going to have to get the bushings done and fingers crossed that will be the issue resolved!

There is no way i could do it myself and it would cost me as much to buy the tools id need as to just get it done. I don't really have access to a decent jack or anything.

Going to buy the super pro bushes and hope it gets it sorted.

Thanks for the input guys i really appreciate it.
