Thanks for all your answers!
I should stick with the Megane and upgrade to a Trophy 275, but it is FWD and French!
You are certainly right about the 997.2s but then the 996s are the last cars for which Porsche didn't create a long list of mandatory options for 'resale value' purposes Looking at buying a car with your head on is not fun at all, I just want to enjoy it!
I'll remember your advice for the GT4, they are rare indeed.

Hey lucky Zed owners!
I was just wondering if given the small production numbers of the 370z, it had chances of becoming a collector in the future? When I see prices of the latest Nismo edition going below the £30k mark with just a few thousands miles on the clock, I tend to think that this car is not receiving the love it deserves, and therefore never will.
I have always been tempted by one (now own a Renault Sport Megane 250 as I need rear seats), and would happily consider having a Nismo for the weekend alongside another cheap runabout for commute. However I'd like to think of it as an investment if possible. Is it the road tax, the weight and the badge that altogether make the 370 a 'not so popular' car? You could get into Porsche 911 ownership (think 996 C4S) for slightly less money and they seem to hold their values much better, as well as providing a good driving experience.
Biased opinions from owners are much welcome

Miles better IMO than the previous iteration, look wise. Love the shiny paint as well!

Something I've always wanted to do... The day I have the proper car to do it
Enjoy the trip and please post plenty of pictures when back!

Didn't you guys see Tim and I rushing out of The Woodman to the Batmobile?
Someone was driving an unmodded 350Z in Gotham City, the villain had to be arrested
This is what the TVR guys saw:
PS: all Photoshop credits go to my lovely wife, thankfully she resisted the temptation to put a yellow underwear on top of my pants

If Vincent does bring the mini Z, it won't be as quite as obvious when it arrives as when he comes with me. Bit more of a technofest though with KERS teckernology!
Funny to think the CR-Z holds the same technology as La Ferrari, albeit with a LOT LESS power, but was made 4 years ago! Version 2 of the CR-Z actually has a "push to pass" KERS button. It does not make any difference with flooring the throttle, though.

Me scratching my head, trying to find a way to tell my better half how to get past the road tax cost of the 370Z
It looks like I'm handing his keys back to Tim for behaving correctly all morning
Ok, he was just handing me my sunglasses...
Funny though that when falling asleep yesterday, I could still hear the noise of the V8 in my head. One and half hour as a passenger can really print its musical signature on your eardrums!

Very nice meeting, thanks again Martin for organising it!
A few pics from me:
Pity I reached the camera too late as I just missed SMD's attempt at skipping, there he is catching his breath after his first and only jump:
Thanks Colin for letting me check if I could fit in the 370Z! It might not be for now, but there is one thing I am sure about: I will have one in the future. I have developed a soft spot for them, I blame Tim for this! They also represent the last chance to grab a big N/A engine at an affordable price before the world becomes all 100% turbos and hybrid.
Not sure the rabbit was coming straight from behind the car park, but it was very good nonetheless

"I feel evil" Goes well with the "Good to be bad" commercial.
I have yet to find someone not liking it, especially in its coupe shape. Stunning car in my opinion.
Then we saw one driven by an old man at Goodwood: dark green on the outside and dark brown on the inside. Killed it instantly and the wife was about to go and have a proper talk with the owner to tell him that he had absolutely ruined such a good car by poor paint selection

Tell them you can not train them as at least one is disabled
+1 indeed!

I will be arriving brashly in relative (to the VX) luxury also
I (we...) will also arrive brashly, in Corinthian weave luxury...
(that's Ford marketings wonderful description for black plastic, lots and lots of black plastic...)
The best bit of Tim's car (aside from the noise) is the air con. See, you action it manually by rotating a small piece of metal inside the door that will bring the windows down. I think smart marketers call it "dual climate control" as you have one on each door. 60's luxury that is
-
In fact it is above luxury, luxury is poverty spec on a Jag, then there is premium luxury, and then there is mine, portfolio don't you know
As long as it is dark green leather, you are on par with the finest British standards from a foreigner point of view

Could help but notice the house as well! Lovely car and sound!

Having seen and heard it as well, I must say the noise in the video sounds like I'm deaf, totally muted compared to the real thing. I think the whole street knows when Tim is about to go for a drive

Nice one!
That reminds me of a story with my grandma. When I was a little boy I told her with poise: When I am a grown-up, I will buy you a Ferrari!
As the years passed she frequently reminded me about it. So two years ago at Christmas, I bought her a very well detailed special edition of a ... 1:18 Ferrari. Hopefully I never said that I'd buy a real one
Only trouble is that it was wasn't red but black.
She loved it and her reply was priceless: Don't worry about the colour, at my age I don't want it to be too flashy and my insurer will prefer it in black as well!
Grand parents rock indeed!

That's very good news Tim!
So the 'new home' was not meant to be my driveway but funnily enough it stays very local! You'll get a chance to notice how nice it sounds from the outside by the way

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Thanks everyone!
looking at getting the CR-Z for my misses this year, wouldn't get a 350 so least she is getting some sort of Z
Can only recommend, good fun on the twisty road and they are becoming good value now, plus I haven't had a problem so far!
My misses likes it because you can change driving modes and it really affect the car's responsiveness, so when stuck in traffic the ECO mode makes sense, SPORT it is the rest of the time!
We always joke with Tim by calling our cars the big Zed and the little Z

Hi guys,
I'm Vincent. I've been browsing this forum for quite a while now and thought I should register. I'm neighbour with TimFF and he dragged me into the Zed world.
I don't own a Zed but would happily have one for the weekends when I can afford it (bought a house a year ago and still lots to do with it).
My daily drive is a Honda CR-Z, nothing that compares to the Zed, but still fun to drive and costs nothing to run. Here's a pic with Tim's car at Goodwood last year:
I've met with a few of you in a recent meeting, and hopefully can take part in more in the future. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye on the price of these beasts
-
Yes indeed I have a crZ
No plan to buy a 350 soon as I bought a house a year ago and still have a lot to do and to spend on it... But I'd happily have one for the weekends once I have the wallet to support it, they are awesome value for the money. Never say never, though, the 350/370 community seems a very welcoming one!

Nice pics Vincent, sorry didn't get to say hi
Thanks Will. No worries, lots of people to talk to at this meeting so it would have been difficult to have a chat with everyone!
Hi Vincent
Nice pics
Sent from the golf club...
Thanks!

Hi guys,
I'm Vincent and I was with Tim (TimFF) on Sunday. Although I don't own a Nissan Z, as a Japanese car enthusiast I always enjoy joining a meeting of this sort and peering at the cars, not to mention having a talk with you guys.
Here are a few pictures taken from my phone so not the best quality:

Interesting stats!
Saw a black 370Z driving past the other day... what a beautiful machine that is! Pity that it isn't rated as highly as its predecessor!
