  2. That's a good list ~ don't look at the other members build threads though or that list will double.:D

Cheers mate, I'll try not to aha

Most items on that list are what I started with too :) Looking forward to your updates.

    Enjoy the new motor :D

Thanks! Yeah think I'm mainly going for cosmetics over performance to start with B)

    Brilliant list

Just go careful a zed is not a forgiving first RWD car

Haha I'll try be careful

Duck tail spoiler what u got in mind?

I like the look of the Stillen or Chargespeed

  3. Thought I'd start a build thread for my Azure 350z GT. Picking her up this Tuesday and honestly cannot wait! I'm already thinking of mods I want to do.

This is my first rear wheel drive car I've owned, my previous car was a 2007 Honda Civic Type R (FN2)

    Mods I'm currently thinking about:

    - New rims Done!

    - Suspension (coilovers or lowering springs)

    - Exhaust

    - Front splitter Done!

    - Rear diffuser or different rear bumper

    - Duck tail spoiler

    - New headunit Done!

    - Experimenting with Vinyl wrapping and plastidip Done (kinda)

    - Change all the bulbs (already ordered) Done!

    - Stubby aerial Done!

That's it for now, keep checking back for updates :)

  4. The Zed can definitely pull off 20's but personally I'd go 18's or 19's for the cheaper tyres, and spend the extra on the rims. Those Konig's are amazing! B)

Not to hijack the thread but how would chrome lips hold up if you were to get better quality wheels such as Konig, Volks etc?

The 20 inc Tyres are not to high cost I got some Toyo,s all round for under £600 you just have to look

Fair enough mate, just presumed they would be expensive

So did I before I looked in to getting them after I had just bid on the alloys :-)

Haha I'm always doing that! Bidding before actually researching stuff lol

Hopefully i am not teaching you to suck eggs, but they are not chrome, they are polished ally, in some cases they will come bare which is a headache to look after but looks awesome and in most cases on cheaper wheels they will come lacquered which dulls the shine of polished ally but makes cleaning a lot easier. The other problem with lacquer is if you get a little chip the water gradually creeps under and you get the white worm effect like Jetset pictured.

Jays solution is probably the best of both worlds, shiney and maintenance free. Although there are other methods, clear anodising works well and for my next set i am going to try a clear protective wrap to see what that looks like :)

No I understand a lot of wheels that look chrome are in fact just polished alloy, probably should have used the word "polished" instead. Gonna have to get myself some of that Rim Wax!

  7. I originally had the chrome volk gts lips but after time they did fade and corrode slightly. That;s when I decided to powdercoat the lips chrome.......... best thing I ever did lol

Ah okay, not even the top brands are safe then! Didn't know you could powercoat in chrome

  8. Some nice ideas guys! :D

That Zed is gorgeous!! bronze is always a good colour on blue. For me it was always going to be white! classic combo :D

Love the look of white on blue, and the Rays look gorgeous in white! Your car is lovely B) Only concern would be keeping them clean haha.

    Green

I say that to everything though - probably best not to ask me what colour is best

LOL! Not too sure on green but thanks for the input

If its a gold like the Volks (a sort of white gold) yes, but if its the jewish racing gold you get on some other wheels, no ;)

Anthracite works well, black is done to death and for me white looks a bit rally car ish.

How about this: House of Kolour Copper Penny Pearl

Know what you mean on the gold, I prefer the whiteish gold best. That copper would look pretty nice I think!

  10. Thanks for all the welcome messages everyone! ;)

    Welcome aboard Paul. ;)

Lot's of good traders on here like CS above and Tarmac Sportz to help you spend your hard earned cash. If your going for an exhaust then I'd definitely go for a true dual system ~ Invidia Gemini is my recommendation but I'm biased because that's what I've got & love it. :D

Also HFC's would go nicely with that btw (High Flow Cats that is).

Thanks for the advice! I have been considering the Invidia exhaust, just love the sound of it! There's so many mods I wanna do already lol :D

  11. Thinking of changing my wheels on my Azure Blue 350z, which colours would work best?

Black, white, silver, bronze, gold or maybe even a wilder colour?

Pics would be a bonus! B)

I'm thinking maybe a gold or bronze to be different...

  12. Hello everyone, my name is Paul :)

Purchased my first 350Z yesterday and am looking forward to owning it and posting on these forums!

I used to own a 2007 Civic Type R and wanted a change. Since I've always liked them thought the Zed would be a good replacement!

I bought a 2006 (56) Azure Blue 350Z GT with 58,000 on the clock, picking it up Tuesday with a 2 hour drive home B)

Any local owners about? I live near Ipswich, Suffolk.

I'm thinking wheels, springs, exhaust and intake as my most important mods, any ideas from anyone?
